Chapter Billionaire My Husband 220
SAD TRUTH LUKE
The sand shifted under my feet as we trudged along the beach; Josh was helping me walk because of my fucking leg. Sarah was silent and trailed a few steps behind us. Each step felt heavier than the last, and my leg throbbed beneath the makeshift tourniquet. "I keep thinking we are going to turn a corner and, I don't know, find a massive mansion or something," Josh muttered, and the truth was-so was I. Yeah, well-
we better. I don't feel like a Blue Lagoon remake."I muttered, and Sarah chuckled behind us. Luke, you'd make a beautiful Brook Shields, though." She teased, and I appreciated it.
A girl who could hold her own. If we end up being the last 3 people on this island, then at least I won't have shitty fucking
company.
"Maybe Tom Hanks - Cast Away we just need a ball..." Josh joked, and I groaned when the muscle in my thigh spasmed.
"Sorry, man. I didn't focus there for a second. Do you need to rest?" he asked, clearly concerned about the leg. Honestly, so was I.
is We
I kept looking around, hoping we'd see something-anything- that would tell weren't alone. A building, smoke from a fire, maybe even a passing plane overhead. But the island was hauntingly quiet, nothing but the crash of waves and the faint 14.03

rustling of palm fronds overhead,
Sarah finally broke the silence. Her voice was small, barely louder than a whisper. "Do you think... anyone else survived?"
Josh and I exchanged a quick look, each of us silently avoiding the question. The alternative was hard to consider, and I could tell Josh was thinking the same thing. We'd been lucky-or unlucky, depending on how you looked at it-to have washed up here. "Maybe this island has a resort or something," Josh offered, a weak attempt at optimism. He kept his gaze forward, eyes scanning the dense jungle stretching beyond the shore. "Or... who knows, maybe it's some celebrity's private island. They own islands, right? We can't Sarah just chewed the inside of her cheek, her gaze distant. She looked like she wanted to say something but was holding back, her eyes darting around as if she could see some invisible map in front of her.
"Sarah?"
She looked up, startled, her blonde hair blowing across her face, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. She hesitated before speaking, her voice cracking slightly.
"I... I spoke with the captain just before..." She trailed off, her eyes darting to the sand as she gathered herself. "All I know is that we diverted the flight because of some bad weather ahead. Then that storm hit us hard, and it messed with the navigation system. I remember the captain saying he thought we might' ve... lost our bearings. He wasn't sure exactly where we were." She paused, her gaze fixed on the horizon as if seeing

something we couldn't.
"To be honest... I don't think we're anywhere close to where they'd be searching. Most of the flights would have been diverted toward the islands up and down the coast, but... we weren't close to Indonesia."
Josh and I both stopped walking, turning to stare at her. My gut twisted, and frustration bubbled up from somewhere deep inside me. I clenched my fists, fighting to keep my voice level, but the rage burned hotter with each second. She was saying we were off-course- possibly in the middle of nowhere. Somewhere, nobody would even think of searching for us.
"Fuck it!" I spun around, my fist slamming into the rough bark of a nearby tree. Pain shot through my hand, but it didn't compare to the ache building in my chest. The hopelessness was like a weight pressing down on me, suffocating.
Josh just stared at
Sarah, his mouth slightly open, the gears turning in his head. "So you're saying... if this island isn't inhabited... nobody would think to look for us here?" His voice was quiet and careful, as if he didn't want to make the words real by saying them too loudly. She dropped her gaze, her silence saying more than any words could.
I clenched my fists tighter, feeling the rough bark against my scraped knuckles. My heart pounded in my ears, drowning out everything else. We were stranded. We were God knows where, and if what she said was true, then we could be completely off the radar. No rescue 14 03 NAD TRUTH

Josh broke the silence, his voice a little harder than before. "So what now? We just... what, wait and hope?"
Sarah lifted her chin, her eyes filled with a mix of fear and determination. "We survive. We make a signal. We gather food, water, anything we can find. And we keep hoping... because we don't have a choice."
She turned, scanning the treeline, her face set with a kind of resolve I didn't expect. Josh sighed and ran a hand through his hair, glancing over at me as if looking for an answer I didn't have.
I took a deep breath, forcing the frustration down and pushing the hopelessness aside. We had no idea where we were, no idea if anyone would ever find us. But standing here, wasting time and energy, wasn't going to help us get out of here. If we wanted any chance of su ""Alright," I muttered...
