Chapter Billionaire My Husband 142
PART 3 - CHAPTER 142 JESS
I stood there, staring at the blond guy in front of me, my mind completely blank. No words, no memories, nothing. I had no idea what to say. His face was set in a scowl, his arms crossed, muscles straining under the thin fabric of his shirt.
Whoever I was a month ago, apparently, I had a type. At least when it came to build. Every guy I seem to have had some form of relationship with was built like a Greek god.
I'd been getting text messages from someone named Aiden for a while now-confusing messages.
When are you coming back? / Are you giving up your future and staying there? If that's what he's asking, it's fucking ridiculous.
And then, two days ago, the last one: I'm done.
I blinked up a thim. Putting puzzle pieces together. "Aiden?" The word slipped out of my mouth, hanging awkwardly between us, more like a question than a greeting.
His expression twisted into something sharper, colder. "What? Do you have fucking amnesia now?!" He spat in my direction.
So maybe he was really pissed at me... or the old me anyway.
Before I could react, the door swung open behind me. A short girl rushed out and immediately pulled me into a hug. I didn't know her either, but something about her embrace felt... TWIN CHAPTER 142
comforting. It was like I could breathe for a second. I let her hold me, awkwardly hugging her back before pulling away.
"Laura told me I have a roommate. You must be... Sofie?"
She smiled softly, a look of pity flashing across her face though she tried to hide it. Everyone looked at me like that these days- like they were tiptoeing around me, afraid I'd break-everyone except the angry guy glaring at me from behind her. "That's right," she said, her smile more genuine this time. "I hope it's okay that I spoke with Laura. She called and told me everything, so don't worry, okay? It's all good. I'll show your around... again like I did the first day."
Sofie was sweet, and I appreciated how she didn't push for more. My head was already pounding, a dull throb that made it hard to focus.
"What do you mean - show her around again? What the hell is going on?" Aiden snapped from behind me, stepping closer, so close that I could feel the heat radiating off him. His presence was overwhelming, making my already throbbing head worse.
I turned around, but before I could respond, Sofie stepped between us. "Just give me a minute. I'll be right back," she said, picking up my bag and pulling me inside the room.
"I'll take care of Aiden. You just get settled, okay?"
She was immediately out the door, shutting it behind her. I stood there, staring at the door, trying to wrap my mind around what had just happened.
So, that was Aiden? The one who had been sending me those

texts. The one who was apparently done with me now.
I felt a knot tighten in my chest, an odd ache that didn't make sense. Why did it hurt? Why did I care?
I sat on the bed, trying to remember anything-a moment, a connection, a reason why this guy was so angry with me. But all I got was a blank. I didn't know why I felt so on edge around him, but it unsettled me.
I looked around the room, trying to distract myself and ground myself in something real. The space was cozy-it felt lived-in.
The door flew open so hard it slammed against the wall, and Aiden stormed into the room with Sofie trailing behind him, yelling at the top of her lungs. She was tiny compared to him, but damn, she was trying to put up a fight.
She tugged at his arm, trying to stop him, but it was like a mouse trying to pull a lion back. He didn't even notice her efforts. His eyes locked on me, furious and intense.
"Aiden, stop! You can't just-" Sofie's voice was frantic, but she didn't stand a chance.
Before I could even react, he crossed the room in a few long strides, pulling me into a tight hug. My chest tightened, and I gasped, barely able to get a breath in.
"I need... oxygen," I mumbled, my words muffled against his solid chest.
He loosened his grip, but his hands stayed on my arms, holding me there as his eyes frantically searched my face. PART 3-CHAPTER

He wasn't calm, not even close.
His gaze was filled with panic and fury.
Still angry, I guess.
Then his eyes flicked to the side of my head-the scar that had become a permanent part of me. His jaw clenched, and
something shifted in his expression, darkening. He stroked the pad of his thumb across it.
"His fault?" Aiden asked.
I blinked, confusion clouding my mind. "What? Whose fault?"
"Luke," Aiden growled, his voice seething. "Did Luke fucking do this to you? Was it him?"
My breath caught in my throat. Luke? I shook my head slowly, trying to decipher what he was asking.
"Luke didn't-" I started, but Aiden cut me off, his grip on my arms tightening as if he was barely holding himself back.
"Was it his fault, Jess? Did he hurt you?" His voice cracked, and for a split second, beneath the anger, there was something else. Fear. Pain.
I shook my head again, feeling more lost than ever. "I don't... No. Of course not. He loves me." It felt natural to defend Luke.
Aiden's eyes flashed with frustration. "You wouldn't know, would you!?" he muttered, almost to himself. Then, louder, "He should've been fucking protecting you, not leaving you to get hurt." PART 3 CHAPTER 142.
Sofie finally managed to wedge herself between us, pushing at Aiden's arm. "Aiden, stop. You're scaring her."
He didn't move, didn't even look at her. His eyes stayed fixed on me, his hands still gripping my arms like he feared I'd disappear if he let go.
"I need to know the truth," Aiden said, his voice low and demanding. "I need to know what happened."
But the truth was, I didn't have it. I didn't have anything. Just pieces, broken shards of a past I couldn't put back together. I pulled back, trying to free myself from his grip.
"Aiden, I don't know," I said, my voice shaking, more from confusion than fear. "I don't remember."
Aiden stared at me for a long moment, his face hard and unreadable. Then, slowly, he released me, stepping back as if the reality of what I'd said was sinking in. He ran a hand through his blond hair, frustration radiating off him in waves.
