Chapter 26: Why Should I Look For Her
Thinking of this, Linda walked out of the bedroom and headed to the study.
After hesitating outside the door for a few seconds, she finally took a deep breath and knocked.
"Come in," came the man's indifferent voice.
Pressing her lips together, she opened the door and walked in.
Cecil, who had assumed that it was one of the servants who had knocked at the door, continued to look down at the laptop as his
bony fingers raced across the keyboard.
Linda approached the desk and cleared her throat.
"Mr.Bo."
Hearing the unexpected voice, Cecil stopped typing and looked up in surprise.
"What's up?"
"Well, it's nothing important..." she began nervously.
Cecil gestured to the sofa with his eyes.
"Why don't you take a seat?" Linda shook her head.
"No, I'll just stand here." Cecil shrugged.
"Okay, go ahead."
"It's just...Leona has been missing for a few days.Have you sent people to look for her?'
Hearing this, he snorted with disdain. He closed the laptop and leaned back on the leather seat.
A wave of frustration rose within him.To calm himself down, he had to close his eyes and massage the skin between his
eyebrows.Several seconds passed before he finally asked, "Why should I look for her?"
Linda, who had been waiting with anticipation, was stunned.
'Why? Because...she's the woman you love!' she thought to herself incredulously.
Her eyes flashed with disbelief as she stared at the man sitting in front of her.
His eyes were still closed, and his fingers were still rubbing the space between his eyebrows.
Moreover, he was speaking in such a careless voice, as if the person they were discussing was not Leona, the love of his life.
Tense silence filled the air around them.
Cecil finally opened his eyes and looked at the woman, who was standing not far away from the desk.
He regarded her without saying anything, as if waiting for her to speak first.
After thinking for a while, Linda asked tentatively, "You love her, don't you? Shouldn't you be looking for her?"
Cecil's face darkened, and he sneered, "Why should I look for a woman who wanted to leave me?"
Linda couldn't digest what she was hearing.
"Just because she left...you don't love her anymore? If you don't love her, then what's the point of torturing me? What do you
want?"
Cecil tilted his face to the side and said unhurriedly, "Have you forgotten that you and the Ye family deceived me? This is a good
way to take revenge, isn't it? The Ye Group is already nearing its collapse..."
Hearing his words, Linda gulped nervously.
He added, "It's not my style to waste my time and energy on finding a woman who wanted to leave me."
"You..."
Linda's voice trembled as all the things he could do to the Ye Group flashed through her head.
Seeing that she was in a daze, Cecil smirked and dialed a number on the desk phone.
As soon as the call was connected, he said, "Manager Lin, cut off the supply of the Ye Group's latest goods."
The man named Manager Lin must have asked a question, because Cecil continued, "l want all the suppliers of the Ye Group to
terminate their contracts with them."
After saying this, Cecil hung up.
Linda looked at him with trepidation.
‘'Cut off the supply? If the goods can't be delivered on time, the customers will be unhappy. The reputation of the Ye Group would
be ruined!"
