Chapter CHAPTER X: ARAMORDT (3)
Within the kingdom, the bloody battle continued. The sorceress did not know what to do to convince her mother, for she did not want to move from the place.
“Mother, I don’t understand what you’re talking about. I will not move from here without you.”
“Daughter, we don’t have much time. I already mentioned you, my time here has arrived.”
“Mother, stop saying this! Get up! Let’s go!”
“I need you to do me a favor.” said the eldest while pointing to her daughter’s drawer. “Open that drawer, and bring me the book inside of it.”
The sorceress opened the drawer. There were several books, but one in particular was calling her attention.
“This book belongs to you. I know you gave it to me, so I could defend myself. There´s nothing to defend upon, not anymore. I know you want me to be saved, but my daughter, you must follow this path on your own. It is Elgoneth’s will. I’ve understood everything, and that’s fine, it’s time to leave.”
“There are no roads to follow, mother!” said the sorceress. “Look out there. Our people are dying; our shelters are destroyed. I can’t find Argônæth. I don’t know if he is alive, mother.” said the woman crying.
“My children are in danger, it’s worse than I had imagined” she continued,” This is a massacre. How could this be Elgoneth´s will?! This is a mistake! What will happen to us now, mother? I can´t lose them. I can´t lose you! I don´t want us to die!”
“My daughter, this is going to be very hard for you” said the eldest woman, “but you must have faith, for these days are maximum tests for you. I don’t know what exactly this road holds, but remember, I will always love you and that, whatever happens, you must fight for your people.”
“Mother, don’t say these things, I can’t do this alone, I can’t go on without you.”
“You must do it, daughter because if you get to save yourself, your children will be saved, too. This dark feeling is turning me freezing, but the warm hope you need lies within you. I have given you everything I had, and you have become a very strong and powerful woman. As long as you move on, you will continue to improve. As long as you don’t give up, you’ll continue to succeed. I know you’re going to get out of this, but you must sacrifice what you love the most, for yourself and your children. And even though I may die, remember that I will always be by your side. Now go, daughter! Save yourself! Save your children!”
“I already told you I will not leave this room without you! If I must die, I will die right here with you!”
The sorceress was resigned, it was painful to even think about the idea of living a life without her mother, especially if she could´ve done something about it. She was not going to live with that regret. The weight in her conscience would be too much for her.
Arguing both of the woman, suddenly, a giant and creepy claw scratched the roof of the house. The violent destruction threw the sorceress into a corner of the room.
The giant purple dragon had returned, thirsty for revenge. His left wing was seriously damaged, and he could not fly. The creature emitted an impressive roar of magenta fire directly to where the two were located.
In a quick reaction, the young sorceress grabbed the Lexicon of Leyra, which had served as a harmonious shield for her. When the sorceress had it in her hands, she became more powerful instantly. Her spells were stable; her mind was clear. The book was the main weapon of the woman.
The evil dragon and the enriched sorceress began an impressive exchange of powerful energy. The factory started to crumble slowly in front of her eyes, the pilasters collapsed and the house weakened all around. Amalia tried to save her mother, protecting her as she could. In one of the dragon’s roars of fire, the sorceress was forced to deflect this with one of her circular light shields, but the blast struck with one of the main wooden pilasters, causing the entire second floor of the house to collapse. Her mother fell as well, and the house cease entirely on top of them.
“Mother! Where are you?!” Amalia exclaimed in the rubble.
Between tiles and wood, the woman stood up to observe what she feared most. Her kingdom was covered in flames. The fortress was deplored; the great wall has completely fallen.
The abodes were on fire and the dragons dominated the Army of Salvation. The underground shelters had been found and cruelly burned, taking the lives of the innocent children. With a blank mind, the woman watched from side to side. The wind blew a dark breeze announcing the affirmation of the girl’s visions. It was truly the end.
The girl was out of breath; it was a real misery what she saw. Her people were screaming in despair. The magic book fell from her hand, she knelt. Her mind had given up.
Suddenly, a roar was heard behind her, the girl was trembling with fear. She knew the time had come. She turned slowly, with her head bowed. Only the images of her little princess and her two princes appeared in her mind. Visions of her beloved king. Memoirs of her wise mother. She didn’t process what was happening, but she knew the final scene had arrived. She looked at the purple beast, and felt death. The creature opened its mouth. The woman listened to the grinding of her teeth. The shadow of the creature was on her face, and when the creature was about to devour her, Amalia fainted.
The other dragons were finishing their vile mission. The King of Anaís had already fallen defeated, the wall had been destroyed and the beings of the kingdom had been eliminated.
A decision had to be consolidated on the The Gardens. Dracko approached his brother to see if he was alive.
“Stop being so dramatic, Dāel.” Dracko said. “He is alive, and he will arrive on time to his trial. And you know what? I will take you personally, Argônæth. In that way, , I could eliminate you as you should have been since the day you were born.”
“We still have some people in the kingdom. We must finish this stressful work first.” exclaimed Dāel.
“Since you’ve offered to save him, you’re going to be responsible for it now,” Dracko replied. “I will leave you with half of the Army, and you will finish the job for what it takes.”
“What is the matter with you Dracko?” responded Dāel.
“General of the Army, and it is an order.” exclaimed the Supreme Dragon. “I can´t trust you, for now I don´t know if you also have compassion for this land. Do you want to be expelled from the Kingdom too? Do you know that it is a maximum penalty to disobey your General’s orders? Keep your mouth shut and now prove that you are on this side. Nobody can rest on your supposed loyalty to the kingdom, and I don’t think the Golden King will like this apparent disloyal sense.”
Dracko wanted to annoy the dragon, for he knew that it would not be an easy task for him to finish annihilating the innocent creatures of Anaís.
“You are in charge of finishing the work that we have sworn to complete.” Exclaimed the Supreme Dragon. “You already have a dominated terrain; I am making it easy for you. I will go up for the Last Trial to be made, and I hope that when you go up, you have completed this task. Without excuses. Without major problems.”
Some dragons were near the area, Dracko headed with his unconscious brother, loaded between his big claws. He arrived at the lagoons where part of the group was located.
“Rufian, Velern, Pertomeo, grab your crews and come with me. Let the others know. I want half of the Army with me, and the other half will stay here.”
“You know what” he continued, “I want the whole group with me! I want a singular organized team with General Dāel, and the rest are going to go up! I want everybody to see the punishment of my little brother! I want everyone to witness the beating I will give him when the King declared him guilty by death.”
“Did you hear that, leech?” Dracko said to his unconscious brother “You will receive the beating you deserve. Traitor!”
He screamed fiercely while the other dragons laughed.
“The rest remain under the orders of Dāel. I don’t want to see you up until this place is completely eliminated and there is no single soul alive!”
“Sir, Grand Karéhl was facing the sorceress.” said a blue dragon, “What orders do you have for him?”
“You already know what to do with her. Let’s get the hell out of here!” exclaimed Dracko.
