Chapter CHAPTER VI: BITTERSWEET FRIENDSHIP (3)
The royal sorcerer wanted to genuinely impress the Raēn. They left the assembly of the eleven present, and went to the outskirts of the temple. They decided to explore the most beautiful areas of Solari, and when they turned their eyes to the violet firmament, a playful display of lights was twinkling over the skies. He showed him, the new fountains that circulated the wateriness of an incandescent blue plasma; the main energy of the kingdom. They entered the three new academic temples, where the days were spent studying the universe and the stars. They reached the lantern of the huge floating rings; fused to each other in an aura of fire that balanced the surrounding energy. He took him to the new concentrations of the army training schools, where the famous cameras of light- reflecting mirrors were located, and magicians could practice the dynamics and nature of their beautiful spells. Where the clarity of the unimaginable creations, was born.
Finally, he invited Wezhreem to the crown of the heavens; and both delighted in the magnificence that rested over Tlaun. Thus, is the dragon´s flyby, and with the sorcerer’s golden carpet, they quickly rose to the heights of the place. Contemplating on the way, the spectacle of the bluestone waterfalls. Its energy oscillated harmoniously between the enormous branches of the Venerable Sacred Tree. Displaying over the night, an imposing and brightful vision.
And when they came down from the heavens, they crossed the illuminated bridges; built with the most beautiful gemstones found around the forests of the region. The bridge path then, led them to the magical gardens; where the sorcerer activated the torches of purple fire with his sacred staff. Lighting up the beautiful place. They decided to take a walk through the gardens, for among their pathways, rested the riddle that the Golden King sought to decipher.
“I’m really impressed, Obaz” said Wiz,“You have spent a lot of time on this.”
“This is it, my dear friend! You see that, rumors often fall short” responded Obaz.
“Well, it seems so” Wiz exclaimed. “But exploring the citadel isn’t the reason why I came for.”
“What is your golden presence due to then?”
“There is a creature in the South, an apparent sorceress” said Wiz.“She was born a few years ago, in the nest of some springs.”
“Are you talking about the Anaís girl?” Obaz asked.
“Well, yes. You already have knowledge of her, then.”
“Of course! Rumors also reach these areas” the sorcerer answered, “And they run faster than the turbulent waters of the ravines. But in the end, they are just that, rumors. Inventions to pass the time in a friendly and playful way.”
“What do you mean?” asked Wiz.
“She is not recognized here.”
“You mean, she is not considered a Solarian?” Wiz asked.
“She is not considered as a sorceress, and much less as a Solarian. This nation is the highest category of wizards, you know that, my friend. She does not meet the requirements. And among the main ones, she was born outside of these lands. She is a girl who is playing with magic, and nothing more.”
“Well, Elgoneth considers her as his daughter” Wiz replied. “This girl is special. She has the blessings of the gods. Don’t you think life is answering the Assembly´s call through her?”
“Because Elgoneth gave her a book?” stated Obaz. “Of course not Wiz. We have already seen her; she has a lot to learn. The ancestors of the Prodigal Son must be of Iothelên´s offspring, a royal lineage.”
“Iothelên had no heirs” responded Wiz. “You know well that the one must miraculously engender, as the girl has done.”
“The heir must beget miraculously in his town, with his people. He must be known, and he must grow up as one of us. This girl was fathered in the poorest villages of the South” said Obaz.
“Without a doubt, she is someone special” Obaz continued, “just as you say, and will probably serve as a guide for purposes of the elves, or perhaps humans, but a lost girl can never be the heiress of the bronze throne.”
A few days later, in the Hanging Gardens, Argôn kept feeling very restless. The young dragon did not fall asleep, for in his mind the image of Amalia invaded. He went to Rihëren. He stood behind the hills, contemplating the small hill alone in the coldness of the night.
Without his father knowing, this was the fourth night in a row that the young dragon did the same. He looked at the mountain, nostalgic, for it was the only thing that made him clear his mind a little, and then be able to sleep.
Leaning back on a stone, the dragon suddenly saw a figure climbing the small mountain. It was late, and it couldn’t be the sorceress. It had only been a few days since she was gone.
The dragon realized that the figure was placing another scroll under the stones. The Raēn was surprised and decided to sneak up until he saw the figure and climbed the mountain. It was Amalia.
“Argôn?”
The dragon approached slowly, for he did not quite understand what was happening. The sorceress did the opposite. She approached him and hugged him. She jumped with emotion, as it seemed that she was about to announce great news.
“I thought you would come back in a few days” the dragon said.
“That’s right, but we were very lucky!” she said. “It was the perfect time to fish! And I got you two goldfish! I came to leave you another note, for we came too late. I didn’t think we were going to see each other, much less that you were already here! Did they send you down?”
“No, I mean, yes” said the dragon. “I was taking a last lap of surveillance before going to sleep. On these days, it is my turn to watch the forest at night.”
“Well, that’s good!” she answered. “I can’t stay for long, my mother almost didn´t allow me to come here. But I wanted to leave you this scroll so you would know that we come back sooner, but it turned out better since I saw you! I would like to come tomorrow and practice some aquatic charms that I improvised in the river. Do you think you can come?”
“Of course! I mean, we must continue. You have lost five sessions. I want to show you some ideas that I thought for you before Gont finishes.”
“Excellent! I will bring you the golden fish, you will love them” responded Amalia. “I’m very happy; I thought I wouldn’t get them for you! See you tomorrow, my friend.”
The woman descended slowly from the top, very happy and excited. She was a girl full of joy and love, and the dragon just stared at the beautiful mystery her energy was. Suddenly, she stopped; directed her gaze to the heavens, and then from afar, she turned to Argôn.
“Kepler’s moons are the most precious thing there is, don’t you think?” said the young woman. “They are in their waning form, my favorite state! It really is a beautiful night!”
“The most beautiful of all” murmured the dragon.
The next day, the sorceress was finishing some pending work in her home. For when she finished, she wanted to go as fast as she could to the hills. But just when she was leaving the door, her mother intercepted her.
“Where are you going daughter?” asked Adelia.
“Mother, I hadn’t seen you! I’m sorry, I’m going to train a little.”
“Are you sure you’re going for that? The first thing you did yesterday was to go to those dangerous hills.”
“I left something that I will need to use today, as I told you yesterday.”
“Are you seeing someone? You can be honest with me.”
“Mother of course not! What´s the matter with you?!”
“I don’t know” she exclaimed. “You have been strange lately; distracted, anxious.”
“I’m just training mother!” the youngling responded. “I’m very excited and proud of myself. You know how much progress I´ve made. I´m really happy for it! I thought you would be too.”
“I am as well” she said “I´m just worried about you, but if you say everything is fine.”
“Trust me mother, I’m getting every day better.”
“Okay” answered the woman. “Just be careful.”
Amalia headed as fast as she could to the hills. She passed through all the springs, and reached the small hill to meet the dragon. But when she arrived there, there was no one. She decided to wait a while.
“Surely, he got tangled up in the gardens” she told herself. “He wouldn’t leave me here alone. It seemed like he really wanted to see me, right? Or it may be that he has more important things to do than to be here. I’m just assuming anyways; I’ll wait a bit.”
The sorceress waited for him all day, but the dragon did not appear. The fall of the dawn was already reaching its prominent point.
“Well, it must be that he has forgotten me. I don’t know why I thought he was thinking of me, as I did with him all these days. I don’t understand why I feel so bad. We can meet any other day, right? But why didn’t he wanted to see me today? And if f he couldn’t, why didn’t he let me know yesterday? Maybe I am being irritating. He is getting tired of me, I can feel it. I don’t know what I’m doing here. My mother was right.
