Legends of Kepler: The Dragon & The Woman

Chapter CHAPTER V: LEXICON OF LEYRA - SIDE B (7)

At nightfall, Argôn left the Garden by the hanging waterfalls. He descended through the clouds to the lower part of the hills within the town of Anaís. Adelia and Lelio were meeting with the community, discussing improvements in the village, so Argôn felt more confident in being able to deal with the young woman. He longed to meet her, and somehow he had been given the opportunity to do so. It would be complicated, but he knew it would be worth it.

Argôn waited behind the stone where he always hid to admire her, thinking how he was going to meet her. This was the Rihëren Hidden Hills, an area between the vicinity of the Great Forest. Packed with springs and small hills. The place was a short distance from the garden of Amalia’s house. The youngling could reach there between dark roads, but she had to go deep into the unknown part of the forest; place where her mother prohibited her to enter by herself.

At an opportune moment, Amalia went out to her garden. She was singing to the plants while watering them, and nurturing them with her miraculous fires. At that moment, she listened to faint sounds around her mother´s small stones. Among the nearby dark green, she saw movements between the plants and bushes. She approached a little, and when she reached the first medium-sized plants, she felt the presence of a huge and powerful creature. She was scared, but she did not allow fear to dominate her. The presence filled her heart with curiosity, since it was not the first time she had felt it.

The creature began to crawl backward into the obscure greenish paths, asking Amalia to follow. She followed. Suddenly, the creature raised its great wings, revealing the dragonary identity. Amalia’s body was filled with adrenaline and nerves. She was observing a legendary, mythological creature. Her mind told her to return, but her heart invited her to continue. The dragon went deeper and deeper into the virgin bushes, within the inhospitable and mysterious area of the southern forest.

At one point, Amalia ducked her head, seeing nothing forward. She looked at her hands, and from them sprang a luminescence of blue and purple fires, using them to illuminate the darkness of the area.

“We are entering a very dangerous place” exclaimed the woman. “We have to continue?”

But the dragon said nothing. Rather, he kept going forward and went onto a grassy path that climbed into what looked like the inside of an elevated small hill. She then follows it and, despite not being so close, she clearly saw the paths that the creature chose.

When she climbed the entrance of the hill, her trembling body felt the cold roar of the night air. After the entrance, she stopped, losing sight of the dragon. Towards her left, a long and wide road projected. Towards her right, a wooded and intertwined one, which descended between the green and the deep. In front of her, a small entrance made of fallen branches, very narrow. But nowhere was the mysterious dragon seen, so it was up to her to decide where to go.

This semicircular entrance in the front, was full of sheets and wool, and seemed to be the introduction to another place. Amalia then decided to pass through the branch door. It seemed to her the most probable place where the creature would go.

When she entered the place, she met the mysticism of a huge and bright meadow; full of hills and springs. At their bottom, the outbreak of the beautiful, poisonous and violet Glorx glowed. She looked at the top of one of the largest mounds, and saw a rocky expanse on it; it was a small cliff. This led to the beginning of a ravine, and the currents of these made their way to the mouth of Elietcel River. At the top of the cliff, Amalia could see the perfect outline of the dragon’s silhouette, hiding between the dark and the uncertain.

The girl continued her way up the steep hill, avoiding falling into one of the bright but deadly springs. She arrived at the beginning of the hill, and it had a spiral climb. She climbed this spiral to the end, and reached the top of the rocky cliff.

And deep in the night, with the moons reflecting their maximum radiance, the young sorceress approached slowly to the creature. On her gaze, the figure of the giant prostrated, with his fire eyes. An astral energy; she didn’t know whether to speak to him or admire him. It was the most impetuous presence she had ever felt in her life.

The creature then tilted its head down and showed the woman a book, which rested on a stone. The girl grabbed the book and read aloud its name. She opened it, and on the first page, she found a scroll that she also began to read aloud.

“In here, rests the Leader’s Lexicon; the most sacred book of these lands. Elicited from these deep coral skies. Assembled from the eternity of the rivers and streams. Derived from the immortal mountains and immense oceans; extracted from the nest of life and the breath of the forests. Assigned to our savior, the first daughter of all nations; the leader of all these races, whom will fluctuate with her people towards the divinity of glory and victory, from root to root.

Elgoneth & Egmeon”

Amalia looked at the perplexed dragon, until she realized that the parchment continued,

“This has been delivered on the tenth day of the Leorian Cycle, Times of Noul I from Seul X; Tremul IV. Founded, in the Hanging Gardens of the Sacred Kingdom of Dragons. As the current Golden King, I inform you, this is a gift from the gods and must be treated as one. It should be used as a tool for good, and only for good. Remember, we are watching. We are protecting. We will always do.

Wėzhreem, the Golden King”

“Well!” She exclaimed. “I really do not know what to say.”

The dragon signaled the girl with his huge head to open the book. She opened the great book and its writings came out from the pages. Words popped out, and quickly became in tangible energy; into bright lights. Paragraphs that manifested in visual reflections. The images became alive and emerged in fascinating movements. The mysticism of the phrases floated between her as she tried to read them out loud. It had hundreds of charms, thousands of spells; preparations of potions, advanced manifestations, tissue restoration, and steps for reorganization of the matter. It was the renewal regime, delivered from an extremely advanced order.

The girl smiled and danced to the rhythm of the magic, the pace of the charms. She looked at the heavens, and understood how special she was. In her heart, she always knew it.

“This is really a miracle!” she exclaimed. “Can I ask you a question? I don’t understand what the word Leyra means. Do you know what it is?

The girl, in reality, did not understand any of the writings found in the book. She didn’t even understand the words in the paragraphs, nor their sentences. She tried to say them for the sake of saying them, for the fun of doing it so. And for some reason, this reading made her heart happy. Even though she did not fully understand.

“Leader” the dragon exclaimed. “It is the feminine of the word Leyre, translated from Dragomař. I don’t think you´ll understand any of these words.”

“Not really!” said Amalia, blushing. “You discovered me, I thought you wouldn’t realize it because I thought you wouldn´t answ–wait, can you understand me?! Dragons can talk to me?!”

“Not all Raēn know how to speak your language,” he exclaimed. “But I learned it a while ago, and practiced it sometimes with my father.”

“I can´t believe it!” exclaimed the woman. “Is this a dream? Everything feels as one! It can’t be that I’m talking to you! What is your name?”

“Argônæth” the dragon answered.

“It’s a bit long” said the young sorceress. “I’ll shorten it, what do you think if I call you Argôn?”

“It´s all right, some people call me like that in the kingdom” he replied. “Which reminds me that I must go now.”

“Why? You’re always here with me!” exclaimed the woman. “Don’t think I haven’t felt your energy for a while.”

The dragon was filled with shame, for he didn’t know what to say.

“it´s okay, mister serious! I also like you to be close to you” replied the woman. “Do you think we can be friends? I need someone to help me practice all of this. We can keep the book among the bushes, and this can be our secret place to rehearse its power.”

Every part of the dragon told him deeply to not accept the offer, but his heart and his instincts were embedded in the intrigue of what he felt when he was close to Amalia. His ears were sweetened when he heard her voice, and her magical words. His soul was filled with joy, and didn’t quite understand why he felt this, but he was sure that if he continued on this path, it could bring him greater problems.

“What do you say? You will help me?” Amalia asked.

“Okay” he exclaimed. “We will meet in this place every three days, what do you think?”

“Excellent! So it will be!” said the woman. “Thank you!”

The woman was so excited that she hugged the dragon, apologizing later. The creature rose between the heights and disappeared from the region between the hills. The sorceress hid the mystical book in the nearby bushes. She hurried home, and both decided to keep the secret of continuing seeing each other, without knowing, that the Golden King had already seen everything upon the heights of his kingdom.
