Upon seeing the news about the accident on Lowfield Road, Millie promptly clicked on the article. This was the very road Layla used to travel from home to the research institute.

Millie gazed up, her mind filled with thoughts of her recent conversation with Julia. “Has Grandma made it home yet? It’s pouring rain today.”

“She’s still working at the research lab, so she hasn’t returned. But she did call to let me know she’ll be back soon.”

Furthermore, Julia was acting strangely during the earlier phone call. Millie immediately continued to check the news.
