Last Christmas?

Chapter Believe it or Not

“Believe it or not,” the bunny said happily, “you’ve been the key that the bunnies of Christmas have needed all along!

By shoving you into the crystal ball, Krampus made it possible for all 5 trillion of us to hop! out of the crystal ball!

Even 1 trillion of us would be enough to defeat Krampus and save Christmas, and 5 trillion of us will be enough for us to secure bunny-rule over the world for forever!

Through the bunnies of Christmas ruling the world for all of time, Christmas will always be safe from those such as Krampus who want to see the blessed holiday destroyed!

Christmas is saved!”

And, with that!, she hopped! into the air and out of sight!, and I soon saw countless other bunnies all hopping! after her!

For hours and hours!, the sky was flooded with bunnies who were all merrily singing Christmas songs about how they were going to save Christmas!

I grinned in delight!, and knew that Krampus’s dastardly plan was doomed! and that the bunnies of Christmas would always rule the world fairly and justly!

I was so overjoyed that I began singing a Christmas song of my own!

It went something like this.

🎵No more Krampus!, Christmas bunnies are comin’ to town!

And those bunnies are gonna be rulin’ over the world now!

It’ll be bunnies and bunnies and bunnies rulin’ over the world!

And if ya wanna end Christmas, then to bad for you, ya fool!🎵

Finally, after what seemed like days of watching bunnies hop out of the crystal ball, I was pretty sure that all of the bunnies had exited the crystal ball and were presumably making good on their promise to defeat Krampus and save Christmas!

I wondered though, would I ever know for sure if they’d succeeded or not?

My question was soon answered when I was suddenly flying! up and out of the crystal ball!

I saw that Krampus was next to the the crystal ball, and he explained to me that the bunnies had forced him to ask the crystal ball to let me out.

“Have they defeated you and saved Christmas?” I asked, to which Krampus cried, “Of course they have! They’re too powerful! Woe is me! How was I supposed to know that shoving you into the crystal ball would allow trillions of Christmas bunnies to come out of it!”

I put my arm around his shoulder in a comforting sort of way and said, “There’s no way that you could have known what they had planned, my husband; they outsmarted us fair and square.”

“No!” he screamed, “You’ll see! I’ll figure out a new plan! And I’ll defeat those bunnies! And I’ll finally end Christmas! This Christmas will still be the last Christmas! Muahahahahahahaha!”

And, with that!, he dashed! away; and I asked the bunnies if we should chase him down, but they said that he wasn’t a threat anymore and that nothing would come of his plotting and scheming.

Then!, I realized that Malin and Enki were still having to hide inside of that magic bubble in outer space; and I raced! over to Enki’s spaceship, started it up, and flew off into outer space to go back to where they were and save them!

An apology would probably be in order too…

Oh, me oh my, but this was going to be an awkward reunion, wasn’t it?…
