Landlord Wars: Chapter 28
Sophia
I squirmed beneath his muscular chest, and he shushed me. “Don’t wake the building.”
“You did not just say that cheesy line about getting warmer.”
“Say what?” He reached back and pulled his shirt over his head, tossing it aside.
My mouth went dry. Damn him and his physique. “Your body is a menace. Makes my brain lock up.”
He hesitated. “Want me to put my shirt back on?”
“Absolutely not, but—” I glanced around. “Should we? Up here?”
“It’s private.” He tugged my T-shirt down, and his lips whispered over the top of my breasts as his soft hair tickled my neck. “No roommates or mothers to drop by unexpectedly.”
My eyes rolled into the back of my head at his light, seductive touch, and then I snapped out of it. Because I was actually considering this. “Did you plan to seduce me on the roof?”
He blinked. “You invited me, remember?”
I hated it when Landlord Devil was right.
He reached behind him to an ottoman that apparently housed a compartment, and pulled out a lightweight duvet.
My jaw dropped. “You did plan this!”
“Not planned,” he said slowly, draping the blanket over us. “But am I taking advantage of the moment? Without a doubt.” He looked down my body. “Are you too warm?”
I held back a smile. “Am I too warm with the winter duvet you handily keep up here?”
He grinned. “I’m a planner.” His faced twisted. “We need the duvet for privacy, but this top might make your secrets hot. They need fresh air.”
I shook my head. “Are you referring to my breasts?”
“You’ve been hiding them. Thus, they are our secret.” He nudged his nose along my neck, sending shivers along my skin.
“I’m not hiding them,” I said grumpily. “I need to go shopping. None of my clothes fit properly.” Max’s kisses got my blood racing, but I couldn’t stop giving him a hard time. It was too much fun.
Until he did something with his tongue near my nipple and my mind went blank.
He plastered his face along my chest and made his way to my belly, where he slid his head under my top, breathing in.
“Did you just smell me?”
“It’s like a garden in here.” He inched up. “You sure you’re not too hot? Your skin looks flushed.”
“Oh, for the love of God.” I pulled my shirt up and over my head, then reached back and unhooked my bra, and it too went over the side of the chaise.
Max stared. “I knew you were overheated. You’re all dewy and rosy. Allow me to cool you off.” He started kissing my breasts, darting his tongue out in light, feathery touches.
I stroked my fingers through his soft hair. “Nothing about what you’re doing is cooling me off.”
A masculine sound came from the back of his throat, and he lifted his head. “Want me to stop?”
“No,” I said and tried to pull him up to reach his mouth. There was literally no way, though, because he was way bigger and stronger.
It took Max all of a second before he got the picture and inched closer. He leaned down and kissed me, drugging me with his lips.
I slid my palms down his tan skin, moving over dips and ridges until I hit the waistband of his pants and ran my fingers beneath.
His stomach muscles tightened a second before I ran my hand over a very impressive erection.
His lips crashed down on mine, and he reached for the lounge pants I was wearing. “These are going,” he murmured. But his touch was gentle as he slid them down my legs, taking my underwear with them.
He slid his hand back up my thigh, caressing the soft inside and the crease between my leg and sex. Until his finger parted the center of me, curled, and did some sort of magic that sent flutters shooting in all directions.
I clenched my muscles so I wouldn’t come. It was too soon. That would just be embarrassing.
Max had been teasing me and testing me since the moment we met, and all that pent-up sexual frustration came firing to life. I reached around and squeezed his firm ass, urging his body where his hand had been.
He gripped my hip and rubbed his length against the center of me. His breathing uneven, he said, “Don’t get any ideas about trying to leave me; you’re mine.”
The way his pupils dilated, the gentle, yet passionate touch—it was all there, even without words: I was loved.
There was no reason to hold anything back.
And just because I’m classy like that, I said, “I think it’s time your pants came off.”
He grinned and unbuttoned the top of his jeans. I helped him tug them off, along with his boxer-briefs.
Wow. Just wow. “How does a businessman have a body like this?”
“I’ll take that as approval,” he said and moved over me, right where all the good stuff lined up.
Our mouths collided, deepening what already felt like intensely deep emotion. All joking aside, the enormity of being together had my body vibrating.
I wrapped my arms around his shoulders, and he slid his hands down my sides and up the back of my thighs, spreading me until he fit snugly between my legs. He kissed me for long moments until I finally moved my hips, urging him on. He reached for his jeans and pulled out a condom from his wallet.
Leave it to Max to come prepared. Though, technically, I was reaping the benefits, because I hadn’t thought of bringing protection up here.
The tip of him entered me, and I bit my lip.
His brow furrowed. “You okay?”
I nodded and hugged him closer until he entered me fully.
Max set a slow pace, lighting up every delicate nerve ending in me. Somehow, he managed to keep hitting sensitive parts while kissing me and holding me like I was precious.
The sensation in my chest of feeling loved and protected, the sensation he ignited in my body—I lost it. It didn’t take long before I cried out, shaking as an orgasm tore through me.
My breathing slowed, and Max shifted slightly, his movements fluid and setting off a whole new arousing sensation. Not enough to reach climax, but enough to have me thinking I might. Especially with the slow pace he was keeping.
Muscles tense, a light perspiration covering his forehead, the dam finally broke. He tensed, and a low moan vibrated against my neck where his face was pressed.
He kissed me while easing in and out, and his chest thumped like crazy against my own.
After a moment, he sank beside me and tucked me against his side. “I’m putting a lock on the rooftop. No one else is welcome.”
I smiled against his chest. “Jack might object.”
“Just wait and see. Coded deadbolts are going on tomorrow. It’s our love nest, and no one else is allowed.” He slid his fingers up and down my arm in a lazy caress. For a moment, I thought he might have fallen asleep, and then he said, “What do you have planned tomorrow?”
I lifted my head and looked at him. “The ball?”
His expression fell. “Shit.”
“You forgot?”
He rubbed his slightly stubbled jaw. It had to be close to midnight, and he’d started to grow a beard. “I was distracted.” His grin was ridiculously endearing. “Might have had a momentary lapse in memory due to passionate sex.”
I laughed. “I’m going to remember that the next time I want you to forget something.”
He perked up. “Promise?”
I smacked him in the chest, and he rolled over and started kissing me all over my face. “Starting tonight, I’m coming up with a list of things you’ll want me to forget,” he said as I belly-laughed beneath him.
