King of the Seditious

Chapter Wings

Giving Delcourt a swat that sent him to the stable where the stable boy would recognize him and properly tend him, Savage made his way straight to the pond.

Circling around to the part where very few people went, he shucked his clothes and entered the water. The chilly bite of the water was a relief today instead of a startle.

Pleasantly cool on my hot skin.

“You’re back.”

He popped his head up and saw Dimurah standing at the edge of the water. Her arms crossed. “What are you doing up so early?”

She likes to sleep in since the alehouse runs late into the night.

“How else do you suppose I bathe in this guild?” She gave him a half smile.

“We’ve bathed together many times in the afternoon.”

“Yes. When you’re here we can bathe anytime during the day, and no one would bother us.”

He frowned at the logic in it. “So, when you’re alone you come early?”

She nodded.

How many times has Phalanx followed her here in the early morning and seen her bathe than? That thought made irritation darken his face.

He hasn’t mentioned it…

“May I come in?” She lifted a fine red brow.

“Have I ever told you no?”

She shook her head. A faint smile dancing on her lips and blue eyes sparkling. “I like how you look, drenched from the pond.”

He grinned at her. “I like how you look damp as well.”

“Was that an innuendo?” She gave him a sideways look.

“If you need ask, isn’t that your answer?”

Smiling she tilted her head back to look at him. “You’re so bad.”

“I’ve been told.” He tossed his head in a gesture for her to join him.

Undoing the laces of her green dress she let it fall to the dirt and stuck a foot in the water. Shivering she gave him a sharp look. “It’s freezing!”

He laughed. “Come in. I’ll warm you.”

She rushed in with a pained grimace and hurried over to him.

He opened his arms to her, and she clung to his chest.

“You are warm.” She reared back. Putting her palms to the planes of his chest.

“You’re nearly on fire!” She gave him a confused look.

“I know.”

“Why?”

“Don’t know.”

“You’re so talkative.” She complained

“I’ve been told.” He shrugged. “Thought I don’t generally need words to convey my meaning.”

He jerked her up along his body. Letting her length slide over his. Feeling every inch of her softness. When he had her high enough, her legs instinctively wrapped his lean hips. Guiding his waiting erection straight toward her warm center.

He kissed her mouth. Testing her honeyed depths with his tongue for a moment before he nipped her bottom lip.

“Take a breath, Murah.”

She did. Before she’d even let it all the way out, he slid up into her. Sinking into her warm nest. Settling between her hips as if he belonged there.

There was such relief being inside her that he found his forehead dropping to her shoulder.

He cupped her buttocks. Letting the tips of his fingers brush along the delicate tissues beneath. Massaging the areas where she was the most tender. Until she was melting beneath his touch. He lifted her a few inches before settling her back down.

She gasped as her tight little body strained to make room for him within her narrow passage.

Though he didn’t doubt her, it was always comforting to feel how she’d tightened while he was away, how sensitive she’d become from lack of being entered.

“You feel so good.” He murmured to her.

She tightened her legs. Gripping his neck with her hands. Using it as leverage to pull herself up. Meeting each of his movements with as much fine passion as he had.

And with her vibrant emotions, she unleashed his. Setting him free. He sunk his teeth lightly into the top of her shoulder. Feeling her unravel in his arms. Her fingers turning in until her nails scraped along his chest. Her heels dug into his backside as she bounced herself over him.

He was so cool. Always calm, always composed. But with her, he could set everything raging beneath his skin into motion. Her passion was his driving in force.

She arched her back against him. Her head falling back. Long, rich red hair swinging along his arm as she inwardly clenched. Gripping around him and holding him there. Her body vibrating with each wave of pleasure that washed over her.

He watched every movement. Without even realizing it was approaching, he was stolen over by his own peaking ecstasy. Pouring through him and cleansing him of all that’d happened before. Leaving him lightheaded and breathing quickly.

He dropped his forehead to hers.

She was astonishing.

The way she breathed, the way she moved, everything about her gave him life.

Made him feel.

“What do you intend after your bath?”

“I was going to go to the trees.” She peered at him sheepishly.

“Out the back way?” He frowned at her.

Surely, she wouldn’t be sneaking around by herself, around the assassins.

“Yes. I don’t want to be seen!”

“Doing what?” He asked tonelessly.

“Flying.”

“You’ve learned to fly?” His brows shot up.

“Learning is more apt.”

He smiled at her. Eyes dancing. “I’ll go with you.”

She beamed. White teeth flashing and her cheeks scrunching as she looked up at him. Trailing her fingertips at his hairline to move his hair back. “Never has anyone been so good to me.”

“That is not typically what you’re saying to me.”

“I don’t understand some things you do. But to me, you’ve always been kind.”

He nodded.

“You’ve denied me nothing…” She caressed a fingertip over the top of one pec.

He gave her a long look. Is this a thank you?

He’d rarely ever heard her say it. Usually, she’s ranting at me like I’m a disobedient mutt.

“I’ve thought about what my life could be like if I’d been left to the sailors…If you had not come along.”

That was like a punch to the gut. If she’d remained with them, she’d never have lived to the age she was now.

They’d have abused her until she died of starvation or worse. It made him want to kill her owner all over again.
