Killing My Alpha Mate

Chapter 58

"Really Hailey?" He says.

"You left to be with your lover"

"I left to be with my mate" I defend.

"Take her away," Carter simply commands.

Guards walk in dragging me away from Jaden's side.

“Let me go " I screamed, shaking and kicking to get out of their grip but they were stronger, dragging me out of Jaden's hands and Jaden couldn't fight back because of the cuffs. "You touch him you're dead" I yell to Aitch as they dragged me back to my room half of the time I don't fight them.

They push me inside the room locking the door behind me.

"You can't keep me in here" I scream hitting the door.

"I'm not your prisoner let me out of here"

"Jaden, are you alright?" I ask via mind link.

"I'm fine Hailey" Jaden replies but I could tell he's lying, my stomach knots in fear thinking of the things Aitch must be doing to him.

"Tell that bastard he'll pay gravely if he does anything to you"

Jaden doesn't reply.

I look around the room looking for a way to escape the window, the only one.

I head to the window, opening it up, halting when I hear a click eclipse with Carter's footsteps.

"Don't bother jumping unless you want to end up dead"

"I'll be better off dead than be with you" I spit.

Hailey, tomorrow you're going to be crowned my Luna. Do you know the punishment for your infidelity?"

"My infidelity!?" I yell, almost laughing.

"The only one I'm betraying here is Jaden"

Don't forget our bargain you're mine to spare his life"

"I can never be yours" I say, flicking my hair exposing Jaden's Mark on my neck.

Carter's eyes turn cold glaring at my neck, and his face twists in irritation.

"Looks like I have unfinished business with Jaden Perry"

"You dare lay a finger on him you won't have a hand left" I stand tall matching his glare, he smirks up with no emotion.

"I always get what I want Hailey and what I want is you, till I decide how to handle this you're staying in this room hopefully you'll come to your senses before the ceremony" "You can't do that" I counter, stepping forward.

"Watch me" Shoving me to the bed he rushes out of the room, bolting the door.

"I'll never be yours Carter never!"

"Ma... Ma'am"

I blink rubbing my eyes, a maid comes into view.

I rise slowly spotting three maids with a blue dress on a cloth rack.

"We're here to get you ready Luna," the maid says.

I rub my eyes and everything comes back to me. They had locked me in, only opening the door to give me dinner and breakfast which I didn't eat.

I must have slept off, my eyes widened as I realized today is d-day.

If getting dressed and acting happy will get out of the room I will.

Rising to my feet they start the preparations transforming me from a deranged prisoner to a beautiful Luna in a blue beautiful dress. It was a bit tight, stoned in diamonds that shimmer under the lights. Feeling they had done a nice job they led me to the door tapping lightly on it.

The door is pulled open and two guards stand beside the entrance. Aitch is a bastard.

Walking through the hallway I spot Aitch looking as charming as ever.

"Where's Jaden Perry"

"Is he all you can think of?"

"Yes and if so much as a strand of hair on his head is touched don't bother taking me to the ceremony"

"He's alright he's in a place you can see him throughout the event"

Taking my hand he leads me down the corridor into the anticipated crowd.

Jaden is sitting in the front row dressed smartly and he gives a small smile starting up at me.

"Jaden" I whisper about to jump to him but Carter grips me back.

"Don't do anything stupid Hailey look beside him" I gaze at where he states a man in a black suit with a grim look is standing by his side.

"If I mistakenly give out the command you'll watch Jaden Perry die tonight" The guard pulls out a gun from his jacket making my heart skip a beat. Gulping hard I place a huge smile on my face.

"Who's a good girl?"Carter smiles, pinching my cheek slightly.

He leads to the anticipated crowd sitting right in front of them.

He kisses my knuckles seductively and the crowd cheers making me sick.

I look through the crowd looking for a familiar face when I see a man walk swiftly behind a pillar.

That's strange, I think.

Good evening everyone" Carter says, grabbing my attention, smiling and waving his hand confidently.

So this is really happening. I'll be tied to a man I want nothing to do with forever.

Another movement catches my attention from the same side pillar.

The man in a suit peers out wearing shades he looks at Carter and then hides behind the pillar again.

The small nagging feeling now surpasses fear of something amiss.

Looking at Carter he begins his opening speech oblivious to the strange happenings.

The man walks out again holding something that twists my face in horror.

He's holding a sniper gun pointing it directly at Carter.

I vividly watched the scene. I would have been able to stop the shooter but I wanted to get rid of Carter. He is off the list as one less enemy to deal with.

It happens so fast the shooter fires two shots one on his head and the second on his chest, the crowd shouts and a huge stampede bursts in.

The killer uses the crowd to sneak by but I won't let him out that easily standing from my chair I run forward the blue dress holds me back so I let Helen take control morphing into my wolf chasing the shooter.
