Kill Me, Heal Me

Chapter 36: I am married

Along the way, they remained silent, while Belle looked scared, and cowered in her small space, burying her head in silence. The
expression on her face could be seen by everyone that she was afraid of as well as avoiding Ethan. She had chased him so
recklessly, whereas she now shunned him as if he was the snake, and the fear was embedded in every cell of her body.
The inexplicable anger that Ethan felt seemed to be increasing, but he was a man who never showed his emotions, so he took
out his anger on speeding up the car. He drove his black Maybach very quickly to the Underground City's staff dormitories, and it
took them only fifteen minutes to make the journey that would have taken them half an hour.
"Get off."
Belle looked up and looked out the window at the dorm building. She didn't expect Ethan to drop her off at her dorm, while she
opened her mouth as if to say something.
"Thank you."
Against her conscience, she uttered these words.
His face, which had seemed calm, turned somber. There was a trace of anger in his inked eyes as he said. "Are you still thanking
me? I never thought you could bear it, poor thing. I wonder how Jordan would feel if he knew he had such a humble, poor, and
mean daughter?"
Belle had a sudden pain in her heart.
Jordan, the name she hadn't heard for a long time, so when she suddenly heard this name, she felt as if her heart was
constricting. She couldn't say whether it was because of pain or hate or something else.
She chuckled and then weakly contradicted what he said. "Jordan only has a sweet and obedient daughter named Jolin. Mr. Mo,
you forget that I have nothing to do with the Ye's anymore. How can a man of high status like Mr. Ye remember a lowly ant like
me?"
She spoke softly, making her hoarse voice less unpleasant. She seemed to be saying something that had nothing to do with her.
"Hum! You're a little self-aware."
Ethan would never admit that he felt really angry right now. He was angry at being contradicted by her, angry at being guarded
by her, and he felt his anger surging up as he listened to her belittling herself.

"Jolin is now one of the best ladies in Gang City, while she has many talents. The Ye's are proud of her and Jordan certainly
won't think of you, the person he's ashamed of." He verbally insulted her because he wanted to see how she looked when
provoked, as he thought how interesting it would be.
"Everyone knows that Jolin is beautiful, generous, gentle, and kind. She is known as a gentle and kind girl in the circle of upper-
class socials, while she is also a talented student who has graduated from the US with a high degree. If you know what to do,
you'll stay here. You mustn't think to get back to the house you were in before."
"Because there's no place for you at the Ye's. If you go there, you will only insult yourself."
...
Belle, who unbuckled her seat belt, stared out of the window at the dark gray tarmac after hearing him, as she tried to widen her
eyes.
Went back to the Ye's?
Ethan was wrong, as she never thought about going back to the Ye's because that's not her home anymore.
Ethan thought she would go back to the Ye's, asking for help from her former relatives and friends... She'd love to, but...
But Ethan, he would never know that as for this time she was back, she was not going back to the Ye's, she was not going to
meet anyone she used to know, and she was not going to keep pestering him. It's not that she didn't want to, but she was
desperate. In her heart, she was dying of despair, so how could she expect anything from them?
He wanted to see the old Belle, the one who would make him grind his teeth.
However, the old Belle has died, since she died in prison, died on the operating table, died in the Indian Ocean isolated from
Gang City and South Africa, and she died in the dark criminal Gang, which was full of dirtiness, full of violence, full of blood, and
full of drugs ... How could she want to go back when she had lost her soul?
She blinked, as she felt her eyes sour, but no tears fell from them, for they had dried up without a tear.
Just like her heart.
"Don't worry. I won't go there."
After she gave an answer, she pushed open the car door and got ready to get out.

Ethan didn't see how she looked when provoked, but when she was out of the car, he inadvertently caught a glimpse of a rusty
iron ring on the ring finger of her left hand, while the iron ring seemed to be made of iron wire.
The iron ring was already a little old, and it was tightly entangled in the ring finger of her left hand, while the iron wire was deeply
embedded in her flesh as if it was going to merge with her body.
The circle of iron wire was very thin and small, so if he did not look carefully, he could hardly find it. Moreover, Belle has been
protecting it deliberately for so long that this was the first time for Ethan to see the iron ring.
The ring finger of her left hand...The iron ring...
As for the ring finger of the left hand, the adults with a little experience would know what that meant. The left hand was the place
closest to the heart while putting a ring on the ring finger of the left hand only had one explanation.
Ethan suddenly clenched his hands on the steering wheel, and his inky and deep eyes contracted quickly.
Belle had stepped out of the car with one foot, while she felt a sudden weight on her back collar. He grabbed her back collar with
his powerful arms as he pulled her straight back when she was about to get out of the car.
Being caught off guard, Belle fell back into her seat uncontrollably. He grabbed the ring finger of her left hand, placing it in his
cold palm. She shivered and when she looked back, Ethan's enlarged angry face suddenly appeared in front of her eyes.
She wondered what she had done wrong.
Her fear of him was seared into her heart, so when she was caught by him, she dared not fight against him. When she caught a
glimpse of the blue veins bulging visibly on his forehead, she had a vague sense of foreboding.
"Mr. Mo......" She seemed to be so afraid of talking to him that she kept looking down, not daring to look directly at him. "What
else do you want? If you have nothing else to say, I'm going home."
Ethan directly grabbed her left hand and straightened the ring finger of her left hand. He looked at her finger carefully, trying to
be sure. The circle of iron wire was wrapped around her finger for two times, while it was deeply embedded in the flesh and
blood between her fingers, and even if it was just a valueless iron ring of iron wire, the meaning it represented was already
revealed.
His voice sounded cold and unrelenting, as she felt the ghostly voice bursting in her ears. "What's this iron ring?"

By the time he straightened her fingers, she was already feeling that something bad was going to happen. For a moment her
face turned pale, and she looked up just in time to see his angry and sullen face. Subconsciously, she felt scared, nervous, and
fearful. She shook her head. "No... Nothing, you let me go."
She tried to pull her own hand back because she was afraid Ethan would break the iron ring.
Ethan immediately saw through her intentions. It was just a broken iron ring that could not be broken anymore, while it just
looked like the garbage, but she valued it so much as she wore it on her finger all the time. It was also because he had been
careless before, so he had not found it, or...
"The iron ring?" He pressed her shoulders with his hands in order to force her to look him in the eye, making her answer his
questions honestly.
Her fingers ached since he pulled them, while her body trembled as she obstinately averted her eyes from his.
Ethan suddenly pulled out a new sharp Swiss Army Knife, and he put it in front of her on purpose, shaking it. The cold and bright
silver light before her eyes frightened her. "If you don't speak, I'll cut off this finger of yours."
He spoke the harsh truth calmly.
Belle felt her eyes sour, her mouth opened slightly, and her voice sounded unpleasant. "It's..."
"Do you know what a ring on this finger means?" Ethan pressed the knife to her chin. "Tell me, who put that ring on your finger?
And you -- "Are you married?
The last words he was about to ask her were choking in his throat as he could not utter these words.
He could not believe that as an extremely ugly and mean woman, she actually had married someone else. It's just not going to
happen, and that's less likely than the earth hitting Mars. He resisted the answer directly in his heart.
As soon as she denied it, he would let her go.
Belle didn't know what he was thinking, but when she saw the iron ring worn on her ring finger, her eyes, which had seemed dull,
suddenly softened.
"Yes...... I'm married."
