Justin Time and the Time Trappers

Chapter 9

I looked around my vision blurred at first. I was trying to recognize if I knew where I was, when I was. I looked around nervously, very weak almost. I didn’t recognize this place. Not at all. It was a noticeably grey room. A lot of black and grey. I saw clothes scattered on the floor. Some of it was mine some was a girl’s clothes. I suddenly realized I was standing up with someone next to me.

I looked over and saw a beautiful pair of black eyes looking back up at me puzzled. It was Olga. Man was she beautiful! Her pale skin was neatly tucked under a sea of sheets and her black hair was tussled a bit, but it still looked okay.

“What year is this?” I asked.

“What?” she asked confused.

“What year is it?” I asked again.

“Era 37320,” she said confused and sitting up holding the sheets up to her covering her breasts. “What’s going on Justin?”

“Two years,” I muttered to myself.

“Two years?” She repeated.

“Fuck me,” I said smacking my face with my hands.

“Justin what’s wrong?” She asked.

“I guess I lucked out this time,” I said laughing to myself.

“What do you mean?” Olga asked.

“You told me to find you if I jumped again,” I said.

“Jumped?” Olga said sounding worried. She put her hand on my shoulder in a reassuring gesture. I never knew she would be this gentle. “Wait you’ve been displaced in time?”

“Yes,” I said simply. “You told me it happened to you before.”

“It did,” Olga nodded.

“You told me that two years ago,” I said.

“I don’t remember that,” Olga said. “I hated your guts two years ago.”

“That’s what I thought!” I said.

“Did we figure out how it happened?” Olga asked.

“We thought that maybe, it was because I got attacked by this monkey lady I went to contain.” I said.

“You didn’t check your suit after you got attacked?” Olga asked, and I shook my head. “You idiot!” she slapped me.

“Yeah I know you said that back then too,” I said.

“Fuck,” Olga got up off the bed holding the bed linen close to her body. “Did I give you an anti-chronoton shot?”

“Yes,” I said.

“And you still jumped?” Olga asked, and I nodded. “How many times did you go through the time portal?”

“Huh?” I asked.

“The time portal you know, that thing you use to go back in time.” Olga said. I was wondering what she was getting at.

“Once,” I said.

“Are you sure?” Olga asked.

“Oh wait, no it was two times,” I said.

“Fuck, you could’ve been bombarded by chronoton particles.” Olga said she went over to me and smacked me a couple of times. “Twice no less!”

“Oww!” I said she wasn’t hitting me super hard, but it still hurt. “Gee I know I fucked up okay.”

Olga suddenly looked like she was thinking churning things in her mind.

“Tell me what happened,” Olga asked.

I told this Olga everything that happened, including how when she had gone back and pulled out a regular looking Adrien Maroon when I had pulled out a monkey looking one.

“I can’t explain that,” Olga said when I asked what had happened.

“Can I ask you something?” I asked.

“What’s that?” Olga asked.

“How did we…you know.” I said.

“Get together?” Olga asked, and I nodded. “We got assigned an assignment together, I learned to like that stupid humor of yours, we’ve been together ever since.”

“That seems to be the short version,” I said.

“It is,” Olga shrugged. “There is a way to control this…well sort of.”

“What do you mean?” I asked.

“I was able to do it a few times,” Olga said. “Make myself jump to specific times, but it has to be a very specific time.”

“How specific?” I asked.

“Very specific,” Olga said. “What happened that day you jumped to arrest Adrien? I mean what happened leading up to the point where you jumped through the portal?”

“Earlier in the day I went to get the briefing from the chief,” I said, and Olga nodded. “And after?”

“I came through the portal and she was scanned by those scientists.” I said.

“Okay, you have to make sure not to go through the portal again,” Olga said. “After you were attacked by the monkey girl.”

“How?” I asked.

“Did you notice anything weird the next day after you came out of the porta?” Olga asked. “Anything at all no matter how small in detail.”

“Yeah I somehow gained an hour,” I said.

“And what did you do?” Olga asked.

“I had gone to do drills I found chief there, we did the drills together.” I said.

“Did you fantasize about having sex with her?” Olga asked.

“Maybe…” I said. “Wait you don’t think that, that is why I jumped that first time?”

“It could be,” Olga said. “Did you fantasize about having sex with me?”

“Oh hell,” I said realizing that I had briefly fantasized about her. Next thing I knew I was here.

“See, so you do have some control over it,” Olga said.

“Okay, so what now?” I asked.

“You need to go back to that hour you gained,” Olga said. “That seems to be the first temporal anomaly you felt.”

“Then what?” I asked.

“Come find me,” Olga said. “Don’t do the drills with Paula, I should be there in the drills room. I always saw Paula do the drills early in the day, I should be there.”

I nodded.

“Then what?” I asked.

“Tell me everything,” Olga said. “Yes, even what happened now.”

“But why that time?” I asked.

“Because if we get it early enough, we may be able to stop you from jumping.” Olga said. “With the anti-chronoton shot.”
