I've Been There Before

Chapter 311: The Good Times

There was a strange tacit understanding between Grace and Caden.
They spent the best days they had ever had.
They never had a fight and never blamed each other.
Everything was fine.
They were like a couple in the honeymoon period.
She didn’t get angry with him. He was no longer bossy.
Every day, he cooked breakfast and dinner, and she enjoyed the meal quietly.
Sometimes, they even sat on the sofa and watched his favorite cartoon “Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf” together in the
evening.
“I’m Gray Wolf. Will you be my Red Wolf?” Every time Caden saw the big castle where Gray Wolf lived on the screen, he asked
so with expectation.
He never got tired. As long as he saw Gray Wolf and Red Wolf, he would repeat these words over and over again.
Then she would smile and tell him to peel apples or oranges.
Everything seemed perfect.
Everything seemed too good to be true.
At the weekend, Gloria came to Grace’s home. She was shocked by the harmony between Grace and Caden. She asked in
surprise, “What’s wrong with you?”
Vivian blinked her eyes and said, “How could you just forgive him so easily? He’s a bad man! How could you!”
Grace only smiled and didn’t say anything. She took their words like a passing wind.
Gloria shook her head, “If people saw Caden cook like a househusband with a ruffled apron and cute slippers on, they would
jump out of their skin. It must be a piece of breaking news that startles everyone in S City.”

Sitting on the sofa in Grace’s house, Gloria fixed her eyes on Caden. She was so shocked.
Vivian sighed, “It’s a pity that this is not the real Caden. If only the real Caden could treat Grace like this ...”
Suddenly Gloria stopped her. Vivian looked at Grace. A shadow of smile touched her mouth. It seemed that she didn’t mind at
all.
It was at the weekend.
They three stayed together in the warm room. The sun shined brightly. It was not cold at all.
Caden prepared a pot of fruit tea for them.
“He’s nice, isn’t he? If only he was still nice after he recovered!” Vivian said before she left.
Grace only smiled and said goodbye to them.
After that, Grace looked at Caden and said, “They praised you.”
He giggled, “I just want you to be happy.”
She smiled and said, “I’m very happy.” Her eyes twinkled. She added, “I’m happy today.”
Caden was unsatisfied. “Only today? I want you to be happy for your whole life.”
“I see,” She smiled but said no more words.
A whole life was too long, she thought.
“I’ll stay with you forever,” Caden stared at her and said seriously.
Grace swallowed her words and smiled at him.
Suddenly, Caden rushed over and hugged her. “I’ll stay with you forever!”
He promised seriously.
She stretched out and patted his back gently.
“You must get better quickly.”

She could clearly feel that his shoulders trembled slightly. She only closed her eyes to cover the pain in her eyes.
Suddenly, he kissed her. She was shocked and gave him a push.
He whispered to her ear.
“Grace, it hurts.”
He put her hand on his chest.
She felt great pain. She felt overwhelmed. Finally, she compromised.
Whether he was sober or not, she decided to compromise.
She didn’t push him away again. She closed her eyes and enjoyed the kiss.
Time passed slowly, as if a century had passed.
“Do you feel better?” She asked.
“Grace, I wanna accompany you for your whole life.”
She looked into his pitch-black eyes with bright smile.
“Do you want to go to the amusement park?”
His eyes sparkled, “Can I?”
She nodded, “Of course. Tonight, we’re going on the ferry wheel and looking at the starry sky. Then we’ll make a wish.”
“Great!”
Night fell.
They bought night tickets of the amusement park. On the ferry wheel, she said, “The sky is filled with stars. Does it look like a
fairy tale world?”
He giggled and held her hands. His pitch-black eyes flashed with joy, “I’m your Gray Wolf. I hope you can be happy for the rest of
your life.”

She smiled and looked out.
That day they stayed out late.
The next day was as usual.
When she woke up, the breakfast was already prepared.
As usual, she went to work.
She drove the car into the underground parking lot of the Building of the James Group.
She got off and walked to the elevator. When she passed a car, the door of that car was suddenly opened. The man in the car
took off his sunglasses and looked at her.
Grace stopped and said, “Are you waiting for me?”
She had seen through him.
“Miss James still remembers me?” The man smiled.
Grace knew he was mocking her.
She knew why he was here. So, she came to the point.
“Mr. Lo, why are you teasing me? You came here for me early in the morning. Let’s get down to the business.”
Kern felt a bit bored. He said, “Grace, you really cherish your time. Is that why you try to drive me away?”
Grace smiled faintly.
Kern stopped beating around the bush and said, “He’s with you, isn’t he?”
He sounded confident.
Grace got nervous, “Who are you talking about?”
Kern said coldly, “You asked me to get down to the business. But now you’re beating around the bush!

You know who I’m talking about. Caden is in your place, right?”
Grace pondered for a moment and then suddenly raised her head, “It seems that you care about me very much. You must have
observed me for a long time.
Do I deserve your ‘care’?”
He must have known everything. There was no need to hide the truth.
She cleared her head quickly.
“Don’t you doubt it?” Kern suddenly said.
Grace was confused. “What?”
Kern gave a mocking smile, “Do you think he really lost his memories?”
He stared at her with sharp eyes and observed her expressions carefully.”
“What do you mean?”
The man sneered and said, “I’ll take you to a place. And you’ll know the truth.” Then he pulled her into his car.
