Isle of Sin: A Standalone Dark Romance

Chapter Isle of Sin: Prologue

Stay silent.

Submit.

Survive.

That mantra radiated through my mind as I bit my lip to keep from screaming. Everything hurt. Everything stung. Everything vibrated.

The male behind me grunted, his release throbbing between us as he finally found his happily-ever-after. I hated him. I hated them all.

But I despised Nate most of all.

My trainer.

The fucking devil incarnate.

He smiled at me now as though he knew exactly what I was thinking. How badly I wanted to kill him. How much I loathed every fucking thing he made me do.

This was his idea of a celebration.

The end of my college education.

The beginning of my real future.

He saw this as an introduction to what my future husband would require of me—sharing.

My so-called freedom had come to an end. Tomorrow, we would leave for Nate’s version of a graduation ceremony.

In Fiji.

Most people would be ecstatic by the prospect of going somewhere so exotic as a “graduation gift.” But I knew better. I knew exactly what would happen there.

Wealthy sadists from around the world were being invited to partake in open season on my body.

It served as the culmination of all my mandated training.

Nate considered it a bachelorette party of a sort since I was scheduled to be married in a month. My husband-to-be might even come join in on the fun. However, I doubted he would bother. The whole purpose was to train me so I knew exactly what to do on our wedding night.

To spend time with me beforehand would prove futile.

This was the world of the rich and powerful.

A world I had been born into without any say as to my future or whom I would end up with.

They’d called me an Elite Bride from the day of my birth. Fruitful arrangements had been made, and my training had begun.

There were no alternatives.

Nowhere to run.

Nowhere to hide.

Not when it came to this society of dominance and prestige.

To escape would result in a fate worse than death.

My father expected me to show up at that altar, trained and prepared to be a proper high-society wife. Nate was the one assigned to ensure that happened.

And he was very skilled at his job.

Except for one minor detail—he hadn’t broken me yet.

It was a secret I harbored deep within, a secret he almost brought out to the surface tonight.

But I dropped my gaze with a forced grimace, submitting once more.

Stay silent. Submit. Survive.

I knew how to play this game. I’d mastered every angle.

And in Fiji, I would finally make my move.
