Chapter Chapter Twenty Five

It took longer to get everyone up, fed, and on the road than Eve had anticipated. At noon she found herself headed toward GreenTree with Ellie in tow. The others had to return to GraySky pack in Acres in their own Alpha ordered car.

A little over three hours later, once Ellie had been returned home, the car pulled to a stop in front of the Dolan manor. The SUV was still rolling a bit when Eve lept out. She ran onto the porch and opened the door just as Flint's footsteps padded down the stairs. They met in the living room and collided.

Eve barely had time to wrap her arms around his neck before he lifted her off her feet, hugging her tightly. Flint buried his face in her neck, inhaling her sweet but tart scent. When she was away from him, he'd found it impossible to think of anything but her absence.

"You're home." He sighed the words.

"I'm home." She tightened her grip on him.

Flint placed her feet on the ground as his mouth crashed down on hers. Eve smiled against his lips as electricity coursed through her. It awakened her every sense while somehow surrounding her in security.

Eve impulsively ran her tongue across the inside of his upper lip. She enjoyed the way his muscles went rigid at the small gesture. Flint clenched his hands in the sides of her t-shirt as a he pulled away slightly with a wicked grin.

Someone cleared their throat behind the couple. Eve jumped in surprise and turned to see the driver from earlier. Flint never took his eyes off his mate.

"The bags are in the foyer." He stated simply.

"Go." Flint answered in a stern tone.

The driver nodded and turned to leave.

"Thank you!" Eve called after him.

She sighed when the door closed behind him.

"You have to be nicer to-" Her words were caught in her throat.

Upon turning to face her mate, he was standing much closer to her. The carnivorous grin on his lips erased every thought in her head. Flint didn't speak. He simply picked her up and took several long steps toward the stairs.

Eve giggled at him as he quickly made his way to the bedroom. He passed the open bathroom door before collapsing onto the large, four poster bed. She kissed him as her long hair fell around his head.

"Looks like I won, Alpha." She teased him as she sat astride his pelvis.

"Won?" He raised an amused eyebrow at her.

"I'm on top of this wolf pile." Eve shrugged.

"You want to challenge me, Luna?" Flint smiled like he was amused.

"Well, I-"

Her response became a yelp when he suddenly rolled her onto her back, his body weight pressing down on her. Flint smiled at her reaction before kissing her again. He pulled away just enough to pull the t-shirt over her head and toss it behind him.

"You should know better." His coarse whisper sent shivers down her spine.

Eve shuddered breath. Her heart was pounding in her ears and the jolts from his every touch felt like they were stealing her breath. Flint made quick work of their clothes, hastily throwing them to the ground. When he laid his bare chest against hers, he didn't bother to stifle a groan.

Like always, being close to Eve overwhelmed his every sense. His finger tips pressed into her thigh as he clutched it. His teeth grazed her throat before he ran his tongue over it. She gasped a moan when he plunged into her. Flint growled before pushing his full length into her depths.

Eve moaned loudly as he began moving his hips. The blood in her veins became fire under his forceful movements. He pinned one of her legs to the bed, still clutching the other around his hip. She released a sob of pleasure, writhing to meet his every thrust. Flint nipped at her lower lip, tasting it, before he rose up from her.

His pace doubled, and Eve found herself screaming. She dug her fingernails into his wrist but he held her in place. The friction inside her was taking over her mind. It felt like every cell in her body was vibrating. Flint growled, dropping his chest onto hers, changing the angle of his hips to reach further.

"Flint!" Eve yelped between ragged breaths.

The Alpha simply growled before claiming her mouth with his tongue. He couldn't stop, couldn't slow down. There was something radiating off of her, something that felt... Powerful. Eve wrapped her arms around his neck and pressed him closer to her.

The sound of Flint's wolf howling distantly entered her mind. A burst of energy followed by a wave of pleasure. Eve moaned, arching against him. She threw his hand of her thigh and rolled over, settling on top of her mate. Flint stared at her with surprised eyes and a smirk.

"Strong." He grunted, lifting her off the bed with his pelvis.

Eve screamed out, digging her fingers into the hard muscle of his chest. Flint sat up and wrapped his arms around her waist. He kissed her and slowed his rhythm to an agonizing pace. Eve tried to move her hips but he held her in place.

"Flint... Please..." She whimpered.

"Mmmm..." He grunted into her ear. "The pleading is good."

Flint smirked and stopped moving all together. He held Eve in place. She straightened her back to make room for his entire length. Eve trembled, trying to lift herself off of him. It felt like some kind of delicious torture. Flint watched her with fascination and mischief in his emerald gaze.

"Eve." He drew her frantic eyes to meet his clouded ones. "Take it if you want it."

"I-I can't!" She gasped.

"I feel like you can." Flint pulled her further down onto him.

"Flint!" Her heartbeat filled her ears.

He groaned, struggling with the game he had devised. He could feel the power stirring inside her along with the strength welling in her chest. Flint wanted to see it. He wanted to know if she could use it.

Eve's clenched her muscles and threw her head back. Just as he began to lose his ability to sit still, she pushed on his chest with enough force to knock him onto his back. Flint groaned as Eve began swirling her pelvis on top of him.

He growled, grabbing ahold of her thighs. He helped her move up and down. Eve leaned down and growled in to his neck. He began meeting her every movement with his hips. She bit the mark on his shoulder, sucking on his skin. Lightening shot through his body.

Flint released a deep growl as he began thundering his pelvis upward, burying himself into her with abandon. Eve screamed and released him as the fire building in her core exploded through her. She shuddered and arched. Her grip on his erection tightened and trembled. Flint plunged into her a final time before his entire body went rigid.

Eve fell onto the bed beside him. Her breath was shaking, as were her legs. He took a moment to calm his breath before he pulled her into his arms. The scent of their combined sweat filled the air and the echoes of their passion were playing in through their minds. It took several minutes for the haze to clear from their eyes.

"You're stronger." Flint eventually broke the comfortable silence.

"I noticed you were testing me." Eve poked him in the ribs.

"Not testing. Just trying something." He flinched away from her finger before he placed a kiss on the top of her head.

"I moved you. Does that make me stronger than you?" She smiled.

"Uh, no. That was not my full strength." Flint chuckled. "I was just holding you."

"Fine. I'm just saying, I still won." Eve snuggled his torso.

"There are no losers in this, Eve." He rolled on his side to hold her.

"Hmmm..." She mumbled. "True."

"I'm glad you're home. I'm sorry I have to leave tomorrow." Flint pulled the blanket over them.

"It's okay. I'll make us dinner tonight and you'll be back soon, right?" She probed.

"Right. No more than two days. I promise." He propped up on his elbow to gaze down at her.

"I'm tired. Can we take a nap or do we have things to do?" Eve probed.

Flint thought about the list of topics he left in the office to bring up at the summit meeting. He still needed to re-read it. He'd hung up on Elder Joshua when he felt Eve arrive in the driveway. They had been discussing the SilverCrest pack legends on the Alpha power. He should probably call him back to explain.

Still; as he was looking at her face, buried in his chest and feeling her hands holding his ribs... He didn't care about anything he had waiting for him outside the door of their bedroom. He felt like he had everything he needed to survive in his presence.

"Sleep." He kissed her forehead.

"You're not leaving are you?" Eve muttered sleepily.

"No, Eve. Never." Flint inhaled the scent of her hair.

"I love you, Flint..." She breathed.

"I love you too." He stroked her silky hair for a few moments.

Even though Eve felt the power return to the the pit of her stomach, Flint could still feel it as she drifted off to sleep. It was pulsing inside her. He thought he could almost see it. The glow to her sun kissed skin, the lighting in her cyan blue eyes... Flint never could deny her beauty but this was different.

The power drew him to her. He felt enveloped by it during their intimacy and it was massive. More than he thought Eve could muster. It was worrying to him.

She's a small wolf... Can she hold it? His animal emerged in his mind.

Eve is strong. Do not underestimate her. Flint thought to himself.

Something is wrong. We know it, yet nothing is being said. Nothing done. The Alpha wolf stirred in frustration.

We will find the answers. Until then, Eve is strong enough. We know she is. Flint replied silently.

We hope. We know nothing. The beast sighed.

Flint pushed the animal away from the front of his mind. He wrapped Eve in his arms and buried his face in her hair. Her scent always reminded him of raspberries with it's sweet but tart aroma.

The electricity she was producing lulled his fears, but just a bit. The thought of what this power could do to his mate was daunting, like a sword hanging over their heads.
