Inner Woman

To perch upon the cliff side high

Above the azure expanse so nigh

Is peace as endless as the sky

Waves thunder does comfort belie

Heart’s grief eases, passes by

Here on the tor but a mote

An eagle soars, free remote

Albatross on wind does dote

Puffin bright, chick’s maw does note

Endless eons to life devote

Golden sun once more sets

Crimson, orange, on blue regrets

Stars and moon the epithets

The day’s own hope forgets

It cannot hinder dawn’s onset.
