Blue moon

is the navy black sky

reflecting the call of a loon

dancing across a lake

Blue moon shining

for lovers

pining

parted by fate

Blue moon alone,

a sacrosanct scarcity

simmering, a drone

of dripping dark dirge

or

perhaps

merely a pretty thought

brought

by a poet

with nothing to say

but once in a blue moon
