as a brilliant diamond

each sparking bright

with darkest of depths

As encompassing

as a blanket

and freeing as broken

chains

It strengthens like

a burden of unbearable

weight

And weakens with the call

of an irresistible drug

It hones like a knife

cutting to the quick

and expands a heart

like helium in a sky free

balloon

Given freely

love rewards as nothing

else can

Horded it creates

loneliness of singular

pain

It is all and nothing

an infinite mystery

the most precious gift

you’ll be given and never

possess.
