Chapter 21
Chapter 21
Lottie’s POV
“Come on hurry!” Anna hisses back at me, waving her hand frantically for me to run over to her.
–
I panic, looking both ways, before scurrying across the gravel, as we duck behind more cars – getting closer to the entrance.
We were now scampering through the car park in an attempt to stay hidden…
“How are we going to get all of the way inside without anyone seeing us?” I ask Anna, as she looks around again before pulling me with her to the next row of cars.
This was some double agent shit… and I can confirm I do not like this game! I would make the worst FBI agent!
“There must be a window or maybe a quieter entrance around the back? Let’s check that first.” Anna concludes, as we eventually reach the building and sneak our way around the side.
We had waited in the car for a couple of hours, growing increasingly bored, before everyone began to make their way inside when a bell sounded out. We then heard cheering and shouting from inside, and Anna decided it was time to move out.
We are going to get ourselves killed…
“Look there’s a little window!” Anna points up, as I squint.
“How are we going to even see in that!” I state the obvious, noting that I was only 5’2 and Anna was around 5’4!
“I’ll lift you up! Quick get on my shoulders and take a peek!” Anna waves her hands and squats down for me to climb on…
Is she serious right now!
I sigh, before wobbling my way onto her shoulders, using the wall for support to avoid falling, as I force my shaky legs to straighten up, with Anna holding firmly onto my ankles.
“What can you see?” Anna asks from below me, as I look inside, gasping at the number of men seeming to form a crowd around something.
Whatever it was though, it was hidden from my eye–line by a thick beam. All I knew was that loads,of people where here and where. intently watching whatever it was that was going on.
“Ok help me down!” I bend, taking Anna’s hands before jumping off successfully.
“So what’s in there?!” Anna questions, as we continue walking further around the large building looking for our entrance.
Although I prayed for all of the doors to be locked so that we would just go home…
“There’s hundreds of people in there and they are all surrounding something! I couldn’t see what though, the room is huge and there was a beam in the way!” I explain, as Anna sighs and nods.
“They must be here for some sort of show right?” Anna confirms, as I nod in agreement.
A show being held at the creepy abandoned mill on a Saturday night…
We turn to the back of the building, thankful to see that it was empty, and that there were four doors along the length of the wall.
“We can’t just waltz on in there can we?!” I gasp, as Anna tugs at the first door finding it to be locked.
“What else are we going to do?” Anna laughs, as we approach the next door, meeting the same result as the first – locked.
“The people in there don’t look… normal… they look scary!” I add, as Anna waves me off and laughs.
She tugs at the third door, earning a creek, as it opens slowly causing my eyes to grow wide.
Oh no…
Anna opens it only wide enough to be able to poke her head in, before she turns back to me and waves me over plastered on her face.
I shuffle my way towards her and the entrance, looking around one more time before slipping into the building.
–
an accomplished smile
We were now in a hallway, separate from the rest of the space where we knew the large crowd was gathering, as we walk our way down it- a ceiling light flickered slightly to add more terror to the place.
“What now?” I whisper, holding onto Anna’s arm as I shake like a wimp.
On that note, we both jump in surprise, hearing two male voices approaching from down the corridor… F**K!
Anna tugs at the first door we find, as she drags me inside without hesitation – in a weak attempt to hide from the approaching men.
Who knew what they could do to us… we don’t know who they are or why they are even here!
“Well, well, well… look at what we have here!” We both gasp and spin on our heels, being met with the four large tattooed and pierced men we had seen from the parking lot.
“He has a f**king tear drop tattoo!” I gasp loudly, grabbing Anna and dragging us both back out into the corridor as the men cackle loudly
at us both.
I swear the tear drop means they are psychotic killers or something in prison I read it once in a book!
On our exit, we stumble into another two large objects, sending us flailing onto the ground as we both scream.
I land first, with Anna on top of me, as we both turn to look up at what had caused our dramatic fall…
“Shit!” We both breathe out, as we remain on the floor, looking as guilty as ever.
“Couldn’t just mind your own business and stay away could you! F**king pair of idiots!” Jace hisses, grabbing Anna roughly and pulling her to her feet as Del helps me up next.
No Alex in sight…
“What are you both doing here? Do you know how dangerous this place f**king is?!” Jace rages, pointing a finger at us both in warning.
“Well shit I guess these ladies already belong to somebody! Ruined our fun lads!” One of the tattooed criminals appears in the hallway – laughing deeply as Jace and Del only glare back.
F**k off!” Del states, as the guy shakes his head – unbothered by his comment.
“Don’t get snappy with me son if you know what’s good for you!” The older guy tells him, as my mouth drops and practically hits the floor when Del spits at his feet,
“F**k off I said!” Del repeats himself loudly, causing Jace to laugh – seeing the guys face contort with sheer fury.
What the hell are they both doing?! Do they want to get killed?! Del just swore at the man, spat at him and Jace went and laughed at him too! I’ve never seen them act like this!
At this point, I was a quivering mess, shaking under Dels hold as they didn’t seem to back down from the insanely scary guy!
“You’ll regret that mutt!” He snarls back at Del, as they laugh AGAIN!
Are they f**king stupid?!
“No you’ll regret that when the Devil meets you in the ring!” Jace laughs next, before they begin to walk us both away from the man and down the dirty hallway.
‘When the Devil meets you in the ring… I ponder.
