Chapter The Beginning
Unknown (Punjabi)
He knew why his mother had called him to her office. He sighed as he looked at his mother’s office door. He wanted to know what that dream meant. But he has to do what the Luna wants him to do. She might be his mother but to his wolf. She is the head of the system now. He hates the fact that’s how he sees his mother. But he can’t do anything about it.
She looked up when she saw the last of the oldest come into her office. All were standing backs straight. They looked at her as she said to them. Please sit down. You are my sons not guards. She sat down all her sons in front of her except her youngest. Yes but you know that is how our wolves see you. As she sees them sit down as the oldest sat first and then the last of the oldest. She sat in her chair and sighed, knowing that none of her boys would like this. She gave them a paper as she saw them read it.
Dear Future Children,
My deepest apologies to whoever this lands on. I have no words as to what my heart feels. I know that it feels that you don’t have control. Something that is going to piss off your wolves. But a marriage had to be given. It was the only way to save ourselves. We could only agree on how to keep the peace when we were at war. And that was a marriage that nobody wanted. Now I know that what you read next isn’t fair or helpful, but please forgive me for when this was written way before your birth. The only option that you have been. The winged and The shapeshifters. You have two options—the eldest son or the youngest of our family. Which I know won’t be an option, but we only need to hope that the youngest is an omega. And the youngest daughter to the oldest of our family. Hopefully, the oldest will be the next alpha. Hopefully, you pick before your mother or father gets to select for you. I do hope you understand. With lots of love and hugs and kisses. I hope you choose before your parents choose for you.
With love and care,
Grandmother
When he left his mother’s office, he slammed the door, causing his second oldest brother to flinch and the oldest to growl at him. He went to his training area. “Can we look at the positives of this?”. He said as he just hit the punching bag. He then talked back to his wolf. “And what good is it that we can’t have our mate?”. He growled when his wolf growled at him for saying that she was their mate.
The wolf knew she was not their mate but didn’t say anything to the pup. “Look, old man, I didn’t ask for this.”. He said as he sighed as he sat down on the floor. “And I know that you wish that whoever it is would be our mate. But she is our mate, not the one to come.”. He said as he laughed when he heard his wolf growl.
As he was going to say something else when his friends came in. His wolf sighed as he knew he wouldn’t be listened to when his friend was around. He just hoped this marriage could help his pup like it helped his baba with his pups baba.
He sighed as he looked at what his pup was doing. As he laughed as he saw how his friend was on his side. “Shut up you old man.”. To which he growled at his pup. Her belly was getting bigger and bigger. She smiled at the flowers that she had chosen for her were growing. They look so beautiful. She sighed as she rubbed her belly. Do you think that your aunt would like them? I picked them with the information that your grandmother gave to your dad.
He licked his teeth. You know? Why would they leave the head of the court of lunas alone? When she is with child? She looked behind her as she ran. She heard the snapping of bones. She knew he morphed and that she had a better chance at the river. That is when his pup’s younger brother came in screaming. “Some rouges are chasing Lina!”.
To which his pup said to his younger brother. “Guard! Call Luna and tell her what has happened.”. He saw that his brother was worried. He then grabbed his shoulder as he told his younger brother. “Don’t worry, we will find her.”. He didn’t want his younger brother to end up like him. He called out for his friends as they came running towards him. As he saw his younger brother shaking.
He knows that what they have is honest and trustworthy. That and he just wants his mate and child safe. Something that didn’t happen. So he has every reason to be mad and morph. He opened the pack’s front door as he morphed into his wolf. Like his older brother, their wolves differed from the rest of the pack. He ran, thinking about what had happened inside his mother’s office. The oldest is always listening to mama. But what surprised him the most was his brother agreeing to what was written.
