I Want You Back by Meminger

Chapter 69

Chapter 0069

When Richard left and it was just me and my daughter, as night had already fallen, I received a call from the number I recognized as

Jason’s. What did he want now?

“Laura speaking,” I said as soon as I answered.

“Hello. You’ve had a pretty busy house today, haven’t you?” He said

with a light and calm speech.

“How do you know that?”

“Terrence told me,” he replied.

“Hm, so I’m supposed to assume he was the one who revealed Annie’s paternity to you?” I probed.

“Unfortunately he didn’t tell me anything about it, I found out through other means.”

“Which means?”

“Are you curious to know?”

“Of course, I want to know how far you’re capable of going so you don’t leave me alone,” I said and he laughed lightly.

“Whoever sees it like this doesn’t even look like you were moaning and asking for more so cute the night before,” he said, teasing and laughing again

I blushed, thanking him that he wasn’t there to see me so embarrassed. “Don’t be an idiot, tell me how you find out about Annie’s paternity,” I ordered.

“Well, I should thank my mother actually.”

“Rosanne?” I asked curiously.

“Yes. She was in my office and happened to see a photo of Annie that

was mixed in with your Nemesis project files. As soon as my mother laid eyes on Annie she knew it was her granddaughter,” he said, making me gasp in astonishment.

There was a time when my daughter had come to see me at the Nemesis offices together with Richard and a trainee photographer ended up confusing her with a model and took several photos of Annie. I had to scold him afterward and demand that he get rid of all the photos of the girl.

“I’m sorry, Mrs. Thompson, but your daughter would make an excellent child model,” the boy had said when apologizing.

He hadn’t gotten rid of the photos completely, causing one of them to get lost among the others from my project at Nemesis. I sighed, realizing that it was all by pure chance. “Good God, what a mess said, running a hand through my hair.

“It was supposed to be, babe. If it hadn’t been my mother, then it would have been someone else making me realize that your daught was mine too,” he said, calmly.

“Don’t call me babe, you stuck-up,” I said.

He laughed. “So what can I call you? My wife?” He asked just to tease

“Don’t bother, ugh!”

“Talking about my mom, she invited me to spend Christmas with her and grandma in Chicago. I thought I’d take you and Annie with me,” he said and I laughed in derision.

“Do you really think I’m going to accept something like that?”

“I think so. You must be missing my mother and grandmother, besides, it will be good for Annie to meet her family on her father’s side,” he said, trying to convince me.

“I’m afraid I won’t be able to accept the defendant’s invitation, Mr Davies. My boyfriend has already invited me to spend Christmas with his family this year,” I said, fidgeting with my fingers.

“Dick in the ass, don’t say that. Don’t stress me, Laura,” he said, clicking his tongue, already getting pissed.

I laughed silently, I really loved seeing him jealous of me. “Are you jealous again? What a shame! So be jealous, Jason Davies, because my daughter and I will be spending Christmas at the Richard’s house!”
