Chapter 0038
“Wow, that sounds interesting. Keep me informed, feed my gossip spirit,” he asked,
and I laughed.
“I’ll tell you something later. Now I have to go.”
“All right then, have a great afternoon with the billionaire,” he said.
“See you later. Hugs,” I said goodbye to him, turning off the cell phone and getting
ready to go see Jason.

I was wearing a red dress today, which was tight and a little just reaching below the knee, black high heels with a handbag to match the shoes, red lipstick on my lips, and my dark hair falling in thick waves around my back. I had a decisive look on my
face as if I were going to murder someone.
As soon as I got out of the taxi, I took a moment to stare at the mansion right in front of my eyes. I hadn’t seen that place in so long, all the memories I had about that house hit me like a hurricane, and I had to hold back my emotions. This had been my home for so long, the place I cared for and loved, and now it was as if I was looking at a place I didn’t know.
To my surprise, I realized that the mansion had changed almost nothing. When they let me in, I noticed that the furniture and decorations were the same as always. I could see that the exquisite crystal chandelier that Jason and I had received from a British princess on our wedding day was still hanging from the ceiling of the entrance hall; the shelf that contained decorative ceramic dishes that one of Jason’s
mothers had given us as an inheritance was still at the end of the hallway that led to the dining room; as well as works of art that I had handpicked to make the place
much bolder and feel like home.
There were portraits of me almost everywhere in the house; Jason displayed my
portraits as if he were worshiping me; that place was like a museum in my memory, and maybe that’s why the employees didn’t even hesitate and let me enter the house with ease., especially because every day they were probably wiping the dust off the

portraits and wondering who that woman was.
I approached one of the portraits on top of a dresser; there was one in particular where Jason and I were hugging each other and smiling at the camera, looking like a happy young couple. I remember very well the day that photo was taken. It was on
the trip that Jason and I took to Istanbul with our friends, we had so much fun that
time that we were laughing at Ava for calling us Prince and Princess of Persia, so
the photo had been taken so naturally. That memory made me smile sadly. I ran my
finger across Jason’s face in the photo. Who would have thought we would end up
where we are today?
Everything that reminded me of the past, I had assembled all that furniture on the
floor over the years because that place was as precious to me as Jason was in the
past. However, I realized that the employees at the house were no longer the same
as before, those poor, synaptic people must have suffered so much at Kendall’s
hands that they decided to resign. That was so sad. It was so sad to know that Jason
had destroyed everything.
The butler directed me to the living room and told me that Jason was at the gym
right there in the house.
“No need to call him, I know where the gym is,” I said, smiling kindly at the butler
and making my way to the gym area of the house.
As soon as I entered, I noticed Jason
On an electric treadmill. He was
distracted, focused on his physical exercise while listening to music on his
headphones; he was only wearing sweatpants and nothing else; he was shirtless, and I accidentally ended up getting lost in his defined body. Jason had an enviable. frame, a slender back, and broad, well–defined shoulders. I swallowed hard.
Would I be able to just kiss him without dying in the process?
