I Spy With My Secret Eyes By Michael Ellis Novel

Chapter 210

Chapter 210

He felt inexplicably nervous.

Oliver tried to calm himself down, then proceeded in the direction pointed by the receptionist.

When he arrived at the door of the frontmost office, Oliver stopped to compose himself and heighten his guard, then knocked on the door.

“Come in.”

A man’s voice came from the office.

Oliver gently pushed the door open and looked inside carefully before entering.

In the office was a man in his thirties, with a height of around five feet five inches. He was not very tall and had a slightly chubby face.

Oliver was vigilant toward him. The Book of Immortality’s aura circulated through his body as he stared at the man.

“Is this person the ethereal Howard Xanthos Uncle Frederick spoke of?” thought Oliver.

He could not see anything ethereal about the man. Moreover, the man’s eyes seemed quite ordinary, without much sharpness or depth.

“This man is so normal,” he thought.

However, based on Oliver’s imagination and previous experience, Howard could not possibly be an ordinary person.

“You must be Mr. Xanthos. Hi, I’m Oliver Eastwood.”

Oliver stared at him as he spoke each word, thinking, “If this man tries to play tricks on me, I will punch him right away. My Five Element Fist is not to be trifled with.”

The man shook his head and said with a smile, “I’m not Mr. Xanthos. I’m the business manager of Mr. Xanthos’ company. My name is Dweezil. Dweezil Crowley. Sounds tacky, I know. Hehe.”

“It is indeed a tacky name,” thought Oliver.

However, Oliver could not care less whether his name was tacky or not. He just stared at him and said, “The receptionist said that Mr. Xanthos is in the office.”

Dweezil took a car key with a Land Rover logo from the desk and said with a smile, “Mr. Xanthos has left for urgent business. The receptionist didn’t see him at that moment. Mr. Eastwood, Mr. Xanthos asked me to take you there when he left.”

“Okay,” Oliver replied.

Oliver followed him out of the office, thinking that Howard was probably up to something. However, at that moment, he had no other choice but to remain calm

and follow the other man.

As they walked out, Oliver wondered why he did not see Wayne and Simon. “Where are they?”.

The floor number Dweezil pressed in the elevator was basement level three, where the parking garage was located.

In the elevator, Dweezil appeared to be smiling honestly and upright.

Yet, Oliver did not believe that. Based on the issue with the crystal, he and Howard were fundamentally on opposing sides.

Perhaps they had not reached the point where one had to die for the other to live. However, they were close to it.

If Howard were truly so powerful that he could control people’s minds, the consequences would be even worse than killing them.

Given Howard’s deliberate character, he must have conducted a detailed investigation on Oliver and would find out that the latter’s bodyguards were Wayne and others.

While Oliver relied on them a lot, he was more powerful than Wayne, Simon, and the others. However, no one knew this secret except Wayne and Simon.

If Howard did not know this secret, it would be Oliver’s chance to turn the tables. In addition, Oliver had the Book of Immortality’s aura. Still, he was not sure whether the Book of Immortality’s aura could withstand Howard’s even more mysterious mental power. He could not be certain about that.

However, when he looked at the crystal previously, it was the Book of Immortality’s aura that stopped the hallucination when he fell into the trap. Thus, he hoped that the Book of Immortality’s aura could resist Howard’s tactic.

However, he would not know the outcome until they met and competed against each other.

After arriving at the underground garage, Dweezil respectfully invited Oliver to get in the car and then started driving.

The black Land Rover Range Rover was very spacious. Oliver sat comfortably in the backseat while Dweezil drove in front.

Dweezil’s muscles and movements appeared completely normal as if he had never trained.

It would probably take Oliver just a second to finish Dweezil, not to mention the fact that he was sitting behind the latter.

However, Dweezil seemed unguarded. He was driving in silence.

Oliver did not ask anything, nor did he initiate a conversation.

The car did not head toward the city. Instead, it went on a highway that led out of

the city and turned into a provincial road in the countryside half an hour later.

Looking at the trees and mountains on both sides of the road, Oliver became increasingly nervous.

It was getting more and more secluded as the car drove. He had hardly seen a single house for miles.

However, at this time, there was no turning back for Oliver. He had no choice but to wait calmly.

It was best not to alert the other party inadvertently. He could handle Dweezil to some extent. However, if he exposed his abilities prematurely, it would be difficult for him to deal with Howard when the latter showed up.

Dweezil’s driving skills were pretty good. Oliver did not feel any shaking or swaying.

About half an hour later, Dweezil finally stopped the car. He got out of the car and opened the car door for Oliver, saying, “Mr. Eastwood, could you step out of the car, please?”

The place looked like a mountain villa, with beautiful greenery and a large open area, appearing idyllic.

However, despite the size of the property, he did not see anybody.

Dweezil pointed to the other side and said, “Mr. Eastwood, Mr. Xanthos is waiting for you over there.”

Oliver looked in the direction he indicated and walked along the tree-lined path between flowers. There seemed to be a pavilion over there, and he could faintly see a few people inside it.

Dweezil was walking ahead, and Oliver followed him.

It was better for him to be in the rear than in the front. If something went wrong, he could take Dweezil down first.

However, from Oliver’s perception, Dweezil seemed profoundly ordinary and that he was probably an unimportant person. Taking him down would not necessarily pose a threat to Howard.

As they walked closer, they could gradually see clearly that there was a rosewood coffee table in the pavilion and three people sitting there, enjoying coffee.

Oliver had a good eyesight. He had spotted from afar that two of the three people were Wayne and Simon.

As he approached, he could see them better. It was indeed Wayne and Simon. However, they did not bother to look at Oliver. They were just sitting there and drinking coffee.

The other person was a man in his thirties or forties with an outstanding temperament. His long hair cascaded down his shoulders; however, it did not make him look feminine. On the contrary, he exuded an aura of

otherworldliness.

“That person must be Howard!” thought Oliver.

Dweezil stopped and saluted the man respectfully. “Mr. Xanthos, Mr. Eastwood is here.”

The man raised his eyes and looked at Oliver. His eyes were crystal clear, and he exuded an ethereal aura. He appeared indescribably charming.

“Oh, Mr. Eastwood. Please, have a seat.” The man politely asked Oliver to sit down and then took out a white coffee cup from the tray. “Mr. Eastwood, have some

coffee, please.”

After Oliver sat down, the other man smiled and introduced himself. “My name is Howard Xanthos. I am a sorcerer.”

This man was indeed Howard Xanthos.

Oliver nodded and said, “Hello, Mr. Xanthos. How… How may I help you?”

He originally wanted to ask Howard what he wanted to see him about but suddenly realized that he did not come here at Howard’s invitation. He arrived after receiving a message from Wayne.

It was only after he arrived at Howard’s company that he realized that Howard had discovered his whereabouts.

At this point, he could only play it by ear.
