Chapter 50 Peeling Fruit
Chapter 50 Peeling Fruit
Eudora was very smart and knew that Chasel must have learned about what had happened yesterday, or else he would be pestering her with questions instead of sitting quietly by her bedside.
Chasel hesitated for a moment with mixed feelings before asking, "How did you meet him?"
Eudora didn't want to talk about anything related to Colbert.
After saving Colbert that day, many things happened, causing a significant impact on Eudora's life and burdening her.
"By the way, I might need a favor from you."
Eudora deliberately changed the subject. "The doctor said I need to be hospitalized for a few days. I won't be able to visit my parents at Steele Hospital. Can you go there for me and tell them... tell them I'm ou of town for training and will be back in a few days?"
She hadn't informed Steele Hospital, and if Chasel didn't go and explain to Mildred, she would probably worry.
His peeling of fruit faltered slightly. Chasel raised his eyes, and looked at Eudora with a cold gaze.
After a moment of silence, he nodded. "No problem."
It was clear that Eudora was avoiding questions about Colbert.
In that case, there was no need for him to pry further.
Everyone had their secrets.
Chasel finished peeling the fruit and handed it to Eudora. "Here you are."
"For me?"
His action surprised Eudora as she thought he was peeling the fruit for himself.
Who was Chasel?
A notorious playboy of Kenison City who never showed care or affection toward women.
But today, he peeled fruit for Eudora.
What a surprise...
"Uh, no, no, I don't want it."
Eudora quickly waved her hand.
"It's the first time I've peeled fruit for a woman. How dare you refuse?"
Chasel's face darkened as he threatened.
It was as if he was saying, "If you refuse what I offer, there will be consequences!"
Eudora felt touched deep down. She took the fruit, and bit into it. While chewing, she said, "Thanks."
She was unfamiliar with Kenison City and have no friend.
Her real relatives were her enemies, but a stranger, Chasel, was willing to stay by her bedside.
Eudora couldn't help but be moved.
