I Refuse to Divorce!

Chapter 25

Holding her neck with one hand, Mason gripped the back of her with the other and pulled her toward him. Their foreheads were touching one another, and so were their noses and lips. His hot breath made Zoe tremble slightly.

She was a little entranced. Deep down somewhere, however, she felt that something was not right. She should not be doing this with him.

Just as he was completely turned on, Zoe leaned in and whispered in his ear, “When are we going to get divorced, Mason?”

He stopped, pinched her tender cheeks, and forced her to look at him. Zoe's face was red, giving her a touch of sultriness. She looked at him quietly and muttered unconsciously, “Do you want to know something, Mason? I don't love you. Not anymore!”

She repeated it several times. Mason was displeased. He pinched her chin and stared at her for a long time before uttering, “Do you think I care about that?”

Indeed, he did not need to. He did not love her because they had gotten married for all the wrong reasons from the get-go.

Thinking rationally, he knew he did not have to care about something as childish as love. All he needed was a submissive wife who could satisfy his carnal needs. Zoe, with her tender body, was one such person.

He just had to have his way with her the way he used to do. He would not go soft even if Zoe was crying miserably. But somehow, he did not have the heart to carry on when he saw her tears now! Casting her aside, he threw a blanket on her. Then, he put on a bathrobe, went to the private lounge, and smoked on the couch.

His Adam's apple moved gently as he smoked. It was a pleasant and sensual sight to behold. A thin wisp of smoke rose in the air and blurred him from view.

Mason did not want to admit that he was upset now, nor did he want to acknowledge the rage that swelled up within him when she said that she no longer loved him.

He was displeased as well. It felt as if someone had suddenly taken what had once been his! He did not even want to think about when all of this had started.

After smoking eight cigarettes, he walked out of the bedroom and went downstairs. His handsome features were contorted with gloom. The servant was still awake. She was quite surprised to see her master in this state. Had he not just been in bed with his wife a minute ago? Why did he seem so upset?

Mason said calmly, “Give me the herbal tea.”

The servant gave him what he asked for. He then turned aroud and brought it upstairs.

A sweet scent akin to a blossoming flower emanated from the bedroom. Their clothes were still piled together on the floor.

Ignoring all of that, he sat on the side of the bed and looked at Zoe. She had tender skin, a slender waist that he could circle with just one arm, and killer legs. Intoxicated, she was rubbing the bed sheet gently and unwittingly giving off a feminine charm.

A ball of rage was building up within Mason. He was probably recalling what she told him just now and said impatiently, “Wake up. You can go back to sleep after you drink the herbal tea.”

Ignoring him, Zoe buried her face in the pillow and said with a trembling voice, “We shouldn't be doing this, Mason...”

He glared at her and said coldly after a brief pause. “You're talking in your sleep! You have no idea how much I want to smother you now!" That way, she would no longer be able to utter these unbearable words.

Mason was a proud man. He very rarely comforted anyone. To make matters worse, he was infuriated because it had been such a long time since he had last had sex. So, he decided to ignore her and sleep after he switched off the light.

However, Zoe was lying right next to her. How was he supposed to sleep? After tossing and turning for a long time, he pulled Zoe into his arms, leaned into her ear, and gritted his teeth, “If you don't love me, then I'm not going to let you love anybody else!”

Zoe felt a little cold. So, she snuggled up to him when she felt the warmth from his body.
