Isabella struggled to contain the anger she felt towards Seth. How dare he
accuse me of such things! It was he who insisted on hiring Selena in the first
place. And now he was turning the tables and claiming that she had planned
it all along.
She took a deep breath and turned away from Seth, refusing to even look at
him. She forced a fake smile as she looked at the chair across from her.
“You’re overthinking things. Miss Farrell even praised Miss Winston on the
plane earlier. That proves she’s suited for this role.”
Seth’s gaze remained fixed as he coldly declared, “Your first task as my
personal secretary is to fire Selena when the time is right.”
Isabella couldn’t hide her surprise as she asked, “Has she made a mistake?”
Seth scowled impatiently and replied, “Do you even hear yourself? Has she
not made any mistakes? She almost killed me by accidentally adding mango
juice to my drink.”

His words left her speechless. While she agreed that Selena was somewhat
incompetent, she was still surprised that Seth would fire her without

hesitation.

“She’s a bit troublesome. I’m putting this in your hands.”

Isabella felt uneasy. She didn’t know how deep Seth’s relationship with Selena
was, but it seemed more than just professional if he thought firing her would
be difficult.
It weighed heavily on her mind. She straightened her posture and reminded
herself that she was the President of Nemotors. Her mood soon improved.

When he noticed her subtle action, he looked straight ahead without insulting
her as he usually would.
The car eventually stopped at the Shaffer Group office. Selena was already
waiting at the door with a smile on her face.
But Selena’s smile slowly faded, causing Isabella to sigh.
She had never had to get rid of Seth’s “woman” before. After all, she had been
his only partner for the past five years.
“Where to, Miss Symons?”
Jordan’s voice brought her back to reality.

As they drove, Isabella pondered her next move.
She was lost in her thoughts and didn’t notice anything was wrong until the
car stopped.

Jordan stepped out and opened the door for her. “Mr. Shaffer gave you a unit

here in the past.”
His words jogged her memory. She did own a unit here, but she hadn’t had
the time to renovate or furnish it yet.
He explained, “With the Shaffer Group suppressing Nemotors’ share prices, it’s
best to move to a place with better security.”
Looking around, Isabella had to admit that the environment here was better
than she expected, it was a shame her unit wasn’t ready to be lived in. She

ago. You can move in right away.”
Isabella was impressed by Jordan’s attention to detail. It was as if he could

Confused, she frowned and asked, “Does Mr. Shaffer rarely come here?”
Jordan blinked in surprise before raising an eyebrow. “Don’t worry. He has
plenty of homes to live in.”
He found her interesting, always on guard when it came to Seth. In his

his voice.
The elevator arrived at the 17th floor. As they walked out, Isabella immediately
noticed something odd. There was only one unit on the entire floor.

entire floor. All three units are connected.”
She pursed her lips and sighed internally. The rich can do whatever they
want.
“The door has a digital lock with fingerprint and code options. You can
change the code as you please. Let me know if you need anything.”
He handed her the backup key and code and didn’t plan on entering the unit.
She watched him walk away and then entered the apartment.
The floor-to-ceiling windows offered a stunning view of the outside world.
“God, I wish I were this rich.”
She sighed as she held the key. After a moment of consideration, she quickly
changed the lock’s code and registered her fingerprints.
