I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin)

Chapter 52

Chapter 52 Please Visit Him

"Of course not. You are right. Harper is the hostess."

Lauren's reaction was cold, and her original enthusiasm for Larry also dissipated.

Larry said calmly, "Good."

"You sit down first, and I'll ask the chef to make some soup for Benjamin."

"Go ahead, please."

Lauren glanced at him and then turned to the kitchen.

Larry and Benjamin had known each other since childhood and they were especially close.

So Lauren didn't dare to slight him, let alone show the slightest displeasure to him.

But his words made her extremely unhappy.

In her heart, she blamed him for being nosy.

Harper, who was meeting with Summit Realty's project leader at the company, received a call from Draven.

When she learned that Larry was at the Pineview Villa and asked her to come back, she was startled subconsciously. She said, "Draven, please help me tell him that I have something to deal with at the company, so I may not be able to go back so quickly."

She could only think of the matter of Benjamin's hospitalization when Larry came to look for her.

After that, Draven didn't call her anymore, and she focused all her attention on work.

The people from Summit Realty were here to finalize the artwork, and the Martin Group would officially start the process in half a month, so the time was relatively short.

She couldn't help but think of Benjamin. Her face was pale, and her thoughts were a little distracted.

Frank asked in a low voice, "Harper, are you feeling uncomfortable somewhere?"

Harper came to her senses and shook her head.

"No, I was just thinking about something."

"What's wrong?" Frank asked with concern.

Harper hesitated before saying, "Benjamin was hospitalized in a car accident. Because of Lauren, I don't want to go to the hospital to see him. Do you think I did wrong?" "Did he get into a car accident because of Lauren?"

"Sort of."

After all, he was looking for Lauren.

Frank said calmly, "Because he was doing it for someone else, the person in the wrong wasn't you in the first place, so it's simply right for you not to go." "Really?"

"A man doesn't just have to take responsibility. He has to face it. Having made a choice, he has to accept what's happening now. So you're right."

Frank told her decisively, but Harper still felt a little guilty.

At about five o'clock in the evening, she drove back to the Pineview Villa.

As soon as she entered the door, she saw the white Mercedes-Benz parked in front of the garage and frowned slightly.

She parked the car and entered the house.

As soon as she entered, she saw Larry sitting on the sofa, playing with his mobile phone, slumped over with a bored look. She said with some surprise, "Larry?"

"It's me." Larry sat up straight, put his phone down, and smiled slightly, "Harper, I've been waiting a long time for you back." "Didn't I tell Draven to tell you not to wait for me?"

She walked over and sat opposite Larry, looking at him with a cold face.

"Since I'm here, I had to wait for you."

"What's the matter with you?"

"There's one thing. Can you listen to me slowly?" Larry said politely.

Seeing that he had a good attitude, Harper couldn't refuse.

Larry said, "I hope you can go to the hospital to see Benjamin because you're a couple. I know his accident was because of Lauren. It's natural for you to be angry. But he is injured and in hospital now. As his wife, you should look after him. You can't let Lauren go with him every day, can you?"

Harper smiled at Larry and said, "I think he wants to see Lauren more than me."

"This is just your speculation. You haven't been to the hospital since yesterday. He hadn't even showered and was depressed. If I make a video to sell to the media, it should be a nice paycheck, right?" "You can try, it might be a good sideline."

They talked pleasantly.

But Harper never agreed.

Larry knew less about Harper except that she was very good to Benjamin. In their one year of marriage, she had been the one to take the initiative. But after this conversation, he suddenly felt it was uncertain for them who would take the initiative in the future.

Larry narrowed his eyes slightly, looked at Harper intently, and said in a low voice, "Although we are not particularly close, and I never beg, as long as you promise to go to the hospital to see him, you can look me up in the future if you need anything."

Harper smiled.

She certainly wouldn't think that Benjamin wanted to see her, let alone that Benjamin had asked Larry to invite her.

After all, it was simply impossible.

But Larry's persistence surprised her, and after some thought, she finally had an answer.

He was probably afraid that too many people in the hospital would harm Benjamin and the Martin Group.

Even though she wanted to be cruel to Benjamin, she couldn't do it in the end.

So she agreed to Larry.

Larry personally drove her to the hospital, fearing that she would run away.

When she reached the door to the ward, Harper was ready to push the door, but Larry took a step forward and put his hand on the door handle, then said in a low voice, "I'll do it, you're the one I have invited, I will open the door for you."

"Thank you." Harper smiled lightly.

When Harper saw the scene inside, her smile immediately disappeared, and her tone was cold. "Sorry to disturb you.

She hadn't even entered the ward yet, and after saying this, she directly turned around and prepared to leave.

Larry stopped her. "Harper, don't leave yet. Let's go in first, okay?"

Larry held her arm and led her into the ward. The door closed, and the atmosphere became tense.

Lauren sat on the side of the hospital bed, holding the soup and feeding Benjamin on the hospital bed.

Benjamin refused to be fed and waited for Curtis to come over. She was worried that he would starve and kept insisting until he agreed.

But just as she was about to feed him, Harper came.

Lauren had to put down the soup in her hand and then said in a low voice, "Harper, you are here. Seeing you are not home, I thought you were busy, so I brought the soup to Benjamin."

Harper ignored Lauren and looked at the man on the hospital bed calmly.

He was completely different from the one who was motionless after wheeling out of the operating room.

But what to do?

She'd rather he'd been lying unresponsive.

Similarly, Benjamin also stared at her.

Her outfit today was different from the past. She usually wears trousers, but today she wore a denim skirt with slits, revealing her calves.

She stood there, still some distance away from the hospital bed. Larry's hand was still holding her arm. He frowned and said calmly, "She has already come in. Do you think she will run away?"
