Nydia’s face went pale instantly. She trembled uncontrollably as the kidnappers approached.

Just then, the windows were busted open from outside, and dozens of men in black rushed in. The kidnappers were taken down in a flash and blacked out.

The middle–aged man in the lead stepped forward and said respectfully to Nydia, “Sorry we are late, Mrs. Jackson. Mr. Orson is waiting for you at the Silent Court.”

Orson paced back and forth on his cane. He was in his fifties and still quite perky with a vibe of superior ones. When he saw Nud

his solemn face carried concern.

“Nydia, are you hurt? The doctor will be right here,” he said.

Nydia shook her head expressionlessly. “I’m okay–just some bruises. No big deal.”

“Nydia, do not mention this to anyone. I’ll find out who is behind this,” added Orson.

The president’s wife of the Jackson Group being kidnapped could have a huge impact. Nydia nodded in understanding, “Sure.”

The doctor ran a quick examination on her and took care of her wounds. Luckily, there were only a few bruises and nothing more. Orson was relieved.

After that, Nydia went to bed. She slept tightly until night. She heard a car honking not long before the bedroom door was pushed open.

She smelled familiar cologne mixed with faint perfume. Just for a moment, some inexplicable feeling flashed in her mind.

Usually, she would turn on the lights and lovingly say, “Mr. Jackson, you are back.”

But not today. She stayed motionless on the bed, pretending to be asleep with her eyes shut tightly.

After a while, she felt the part of the bed next to her dented, and then a big hand was groping her on her

waist. The hand was cold and made Nydia frown. She slightly moved, pulling away from him.

The man paused and unexpectedly pulled her back. His violent action tore up her wounds. She couldn’t help but grimace, her face turning pale. The rage and resentment she had been suppressing were now

roaring in her head. She slapped his hand off.

Cade obviously didn’t see this coming. He grabbed her shoulders and forced her to face him, pinning her down with his upper half. His face darkened. “What are you playing now? Didn’t you tell on me to

Grandpa and force me to come home? Now you are pretending to be resistant again.”

She could sense the disdain in his words. He must be disgusted by what she had done in the past. It

seemed Orson had somehow made him here, and Cade naturally blamed it on her

Nydia clenched ber fingers. The darkness hid the sorrow on her face like it hid her bruises.

She gazed at Cade in his deep eyes and curled her lips. “It doesn’t matter what I play as long as you are

back.”

Cade sneered. “So you admit it. That’s brave. But what about the damage you caused to the company by messing up the cooperation?”

Nydia was lost for words. Her smile stiffened. There was no cooperation at all. It was a trap. Why did she, the biggest victim, have to be responsible for it? And why did he act like he didn’t know?

Then she remembered when she called him and begged for help, he hung up ruthlessly. Maybe he wanted her to be dead for a long time so he could marry Josephine.

The thought gave her chills. Her voice turned cold. “Don’t worry. I’ll explain to the board.”

“Explain? You should think about how to compensate,” said Cade, his hands unbuttoning her shirt.
