I Died They Regretted It by Karen

Chapter CHAPTER 5

Part 5

Karen, with her gentle demeanor, deliberately waved her bandaged hand in front of Axel. “Axel, don’t be like this. Alice didn’t do it on purpose. I’m good friends with her and her brother. I trust her,” she said.

Axel brushed her forehead, his tone carrying reproach but his eyes full of concern.

“Karen, I know your temperament well. You’re just too kind. Even though she bullies you like this, you’re still speaking up for her. Someone like her deserves to be punished, even if it means being torn apart by a thousand cuts.”

Karen lowered her gaze, biting her lip, her eyes slightly reddening. “Axel, I’m sorry. Please don’t be angry. I really don’t want you two to have trouble because of me.” Axel sighed, wearing an expression of helplessness towards her. After a moment, he glanced at me indifferently. “Alice, you’re lucky to meet someone as kind as Karen.” I looked at the cold and noble figure before me, feeling a mix of familiarity and strangeness.

I had said those words before too. It was because of this so–called “luck” that I had gotten engaged to him. Now, it was this luck that he was using to torment me. Axel only dared to hurt me because he knew I loved him. In that moment, all my love for him had vanished completely. Any hope of melting an iceberg was just my illusion. If I were to report him to the police, it would probably just be a futile dream. After all, family background spoke for itself. If the price of losing my violin was to make me e the reality, then I’d rather not acknowledge this reality. Dragging my weary body, I yelled at them in anger, “Get out, just get out!”

Karen came over and patted my back, but her hands were tightly holding my

amputated hand. The pain came and sweat beads appeared on my forehead. I couldn’t help but kick her.

“I’m sorry… I’m sorry, Alice, don’t be angry, I won’t touch you.”

Karen was so wronged that she burst into tears and threw herself into Axel’s arms. Axel instantly turned cold and regardless of the blood flowing out of my hand, het grabbed my wound fiercely.

“Alice, this is all your own fault, you can’t blame anyone else. You’ve all become like this, don’t you still know how to behave?”

I didn’t indulge him either, so I kicked him in the crotch. He saw my wound bleeding, but when Karen cried, it was my fault.

Karen approached to speak for him, but he just pulled her away.

“Karen, don’t talk to her, she’s just a lunatic,” he said coldly. “You deserve your father’s killing of your mother and you deserve your father’s love.”

At that moment, there was a bang in my ear, as if I had been pricked by a needle. I smiled bitterly as I watched their backs leave.

You bastard, Axel.

Sure enough, the more familiar people were, the more they understood where the knife hurt the most.

Another ten days had passed. My hand didn’t hurt that much anymore and the wound was slowly healing. I followed the doctor’s advice and completed the discharge. procedures. He told me to come for a check–up once a month and once the wound gradually healed, I could install the prosthetic limb.

Without my hands, I had to start from scratch for many things, including using spoons, eating and other daily necessities. But before I could fully get used to it, I received a call from the police station.
