Chapter 432
Chapter 432 Paradiso
Jonathan said, “The air in the main world isn't good, but it's still okay for humans to live in.” There was a brief pause before he
continued, “My name's Jonathan Lawson. How do I address you?”
The knight in the silver armor contemplated for some time and answered, “You can call me Torrence.”
Hearing that, Jonathan said with all seriousness, “Thank you for saving me and my companion, Torrence. If not for you, I believe
we would've died here.”
Torrence did not respond to Jonathan's words. Instead, the former asked, “What's the main world like?”
The question took Jonathan slightly by surprise, but he could understand where Torrence was coming from. After all, the former
wanted to know what Moranta was like as well.
Since Jonathan was in Torrence's territory, he had no choice but to answer the question first.
Thus, Jonathan began introducing the distribution of the boundless universe. Fortunately, he was a man of erudition, and that
allowed him to describe the boundless universe, the seven continents, and the four seas. Moreover, he also talked about the
boundless universe's current level of technology and population density.
He talked nonstop for half an hour. In fact, he could not help but pant when he was halfway through his story. Seeing that,
Torrence gave Jonathan another black fruit without a word. Sure enough, Jonathan's energy recovered greatly after he had the
fruit, and he continued explaining.
It took him one whole hour to give Torrence a brief introduction to the boundless universe.
At the end of it, Torrence was stunned. “The main world is so huge and has so many people. No wonder it's called the main
world.”
Nonetheless, he still found all of it unbelievable. “Then again... You said the people there can fly in the sky using planes, right?
And the plane can take hundreds of people to the sky in one go, right? How is that possible?”
Jonathan scratched his nose, saying, “That's not all. Our technology can send people out of the earth to the very moon you see.
Even the products of our technology can be flown over there.”
Torrence was shocked by the information. “In Moranta, even the most powerful magician, Haydes, can only send ten people
hundred miles into the air with his magic. Yet, the main world can already achieve something that great?”
Jonathan was already dying to know more about Moranta. The moment he heard Torrence mention the word “magician,” the
former was stunned. “Magician? What's a magician?”
“Do you guys not have magic in the main world?” Torrence responded with a question.
Jonathan shook his head. “Nope. What's magic?”
Could it be the same magic I see in movies? I only know about magic tricks.
“Well, magic is... Moranta's people are generally divided into two species—warriors and magicians. Warriors are best suited for
close combat while magicians are for long-distance combat.”
“You must be a warrior, right?” asked Jonathan.
“I'm a Holy Golden Knight of Supreme Sect that inherits the sect's divine energy. I'm slightly different from ordinary Warriors.”
Jonathan understood how Warriors and Golden Knights were created with divine energy. After all, divine energy was more or
less the same as the combat force produced by vampires. However, he could not imagine how Magicians and magic were
created.
Jonathan asked immediately, “What's magic, then?”
Torrence began, “Magic is...” He seemed to have difficulty explaining it. After a brief pause, he asked, “Can you feel the elements
in the air?”
“What elements?” queried Jonathan, fascinated by Moranta.
“The light we feel is the light elements. The fire we use is made of fire elements, as well as elements like earth elements, water
elements, and water elements. There are a total of six elements in Moranta.”
“But you only named five of them,” said Jonathan.
“The last element is dark elements. Dark elements are used by evil, dark Magicians in their cultivation. It's also the element every
righteous person here has the duty to exterminate.”
Jonathan could not help but feel frustrated at the new information. Great. So there really is weird dark magic. Am I in a movie or
something?
“How does one become a Magician?” asked Jonathan.
Torrence cast Jonathan a glance before saying, “I think I get it.”
“What is it?” asked Jonathan, puzzled by the sudden comment.
“The main world isn't the same as Moranta. You guys don't have the five elements. That's why you can't sense them and become
Magicians.”
In response, Jonathan explained, “The main world's source of light comes from the sun. There are magnetic field molecules that
produce light in the air. There are also magnetic field molecules that create lightning and time-space magnetic field molecules
that dominate space. However, we don't have the idea of having five elements.”
“In Moranta, every Magician is born with a specific attribute. Those with wood attributes will know wood attribute magic. Similarly,
those with light attributes become Light Magicians. Some are dual-attribute Magicians, too.” Pausing momentarily, Torrence
continued, “Of course, not everyone can be Magicians. They're rare beings here. Every Magician is treated with great respect in
the country. The higher their levels are, the more respect they get. Most people are like me; we don't have any attributes. Hence,
we can only become Warriors.”
Immediately, a rough outline formed in Jonathan's mind.
Moranta had the five elements that did not exist in the boundless universe. To be more specific, it was not that the boundless
universe did not have them, but the elements were stronger in Moranta. Meanwhile, Magicians were born with extraordinary
talents. Just like the boundless universe, some people were born with unique talents.
Magicians were something like that.
They could sense the power of the elements from birth and learned to use them. That was how they became Magicians.
It was a logic that made sense.
A thought suddenly came to Jonathan's mind, and he asked, “How does one know if they're a Magician?”
“They go into a trance by touching a magical crystal ball. In the trance, they can confirm which attribute they belong to. If they
can't get into the trance, that means they're not suited to cultivate magic.”
That only piqued Jonathan's interest. “Where can I find a magical crystal ball?”
Puzzled, Torrence asked, “Are you trying to find out if you're a Magician?”
“Well, there's no harm trying.”
“I don't have one, but if you get the chance to go to Paradiso, you can test it out at the Magician's Council.”
Jonathan's heart leaped with joy, and he said, “Paradiso? Where's that? How is Moranta divided? What's the population like
here?”
“Moranta consists of seven countries, with Paradiso being the strongest. The races are divided into humans, elves, dwarves,
ancient dragons, and orcs.”
Jonathan could roughly picture it. However, all those information had nothing to do with him. The most urgent thing he needed to
do at that moment was to find a place with people and eat enough food to absorb sufficient nutrients. Only when his body had
recovered would he go looking for Mabel and the others. And once that was done, he would find a way to return to the boundless
universe.
Moranta was just a dimensional space; Jonathan did not want to spend too much time there.
Just then, Jonathan asked Torrence, “So, what's this exiled land I'm in? How far is it from Paradiso?”
“The exiled land is a land of crime. It's the most evil place in Moranta. Dark Magicians and some extremely evil people are exiled
to this land. More importantly, a Demon Dragon is imprisoned here.” There was a short pause before Torrence added, “The place
where you are now is the deepest part of Demon Abyss. Legend has it that Demon Dragon is here. This place is thirty-eight
thousand miles from Paradiso.”
“F*ck!” Jonathan was so shocked that he felt dizzy. It was the most devastating news he had received so far.
He had been travelling in the wrong direction.
It was almost impossible for him to travel thirty-eight thousand miles again even if he was in his best state.
Moreover, he and Yeverie were half dead.
Jonathan looked at Torrence and said, “Why did you appear here?”
Upon hearing that, Torrence lowered his gaze, and he said glumly, “That's none of your business.”
After receiving the cold shoulder, Jonathan stopped questioning Torrence.
“Where are you going then? Can we travel together?” asked Jonathan.
“No,” Torrence refused firmly.
“Um...” Jonathan said.
Taking a deep breath, he said, “No matter what, I want to thank you for saving my life.”
Torrence glanced at Jonathan, saying, “Why did you guys come to Moranta?”
“It's a long story. I had a group of companions with me, but during a coup, we entered a channel set by our primogenitor while
escaping. In the end, we got separated. So what I want to do right now is go to Paradiso to get something to eat before looking
for my friends and returning to the main world.”
Torrence looked out at the chaotic world. “The world is in chaos. How are you planning to go back? Open up a hole in the sky?”
Jonathan was stunned.
He had no idea how to return.
Even so, that did not discourage Jonathan. He smiled and said, “It's going to be difficult, but it depends on the individual. I
believe the heavens have a plan for everything.”
“All right. Pay attention here. Once you get out of this cave, travel north with your friends. Keep going straight and you'll arrive at
Paradiso.” With that Torrence took something like a pocket watch out of his pocket and said, “This is a compass. Take it, and
follow the direction.”
