Chapter 406
Chapter 406 The Meeting Of Prince Solorel
Jonathan did not find any hidden traps in Fog City, where Leahra cultivated, and began to wonder why she had mentioned he
should escape to Fog City in times of crisis.
Nevertheless, he did not dwell on it too much, for he believed that since Leahra had said so, there must be a deeper meaning
behind her words. At this point, he still had not perceived the imminent danger because he himself had not reached that critical
moment.
After spending half an hour in Fog City, Jonathan had already experienced the benefits of being here. The air was fresh, the
environment grounded, and the flow of formations was highly beneficial for cultivation and self-improvement.
As such, he decided to spend more time here whenever he had the chance.
Later, everyone left Fog City and returned to the palace.
Jonathan entrusted Aurora with the task of gathering information about Shanow Sword, and she acknowledged his command
with a nod.
Meanwhile, outside the palace, two vampire soldiers were standing guard. Shortly after, Solorel sent a female official and two
maidservants over. The two maidservants were commoners hired from outside, whereas the female official named Yeverie was a
vampire who had attained Level One of the Divine Master realm. She had a sweet appearance, a slender figure, and was
dressed in a sleek, black suit, exuding both competence and visual appeal.
In any case, Jonathan had a good impression of her.
As for the two guards, they were vampires in the Nascent Soul realm, chosen by Solorel to serve as Jonathan's personal guards.
Their names were Khubie and Khulark.
The two brothers possessed a robust physique, and their countenances exuded a grounded and unpretentious nature.
Jonathan instructed them to alternate their duty shifts, ensuring that they would not become too exhausted.
The brothers responded, “Thank you, Your Majesty!”
Jonathan could not help but feel a mix of satisfaction and amusement when he heard people address him as “Your Majesty.” It
was a role he had never expected to assume. Too bad I don't have a harem!
In the meantime, Mabel wasted no time and headed straight to her bedroom upon returning to the palace. With Shanow Sword in
her possession, her excitement to study and harness its power was palpable.
Jonathan and Beatrix gave her time and space to examine the weapon as well.
Jonathan assured Beatrix, “Beatrix, trust me when I say I'll find a celestial weapon even more powerful than Mabel's Shanow
Sword. I've got luck on my side, and I'm determined to make it happen. You can count on me.”
He was afraid she might be upset about it.
She flashed a faint grin. “Don't be silly. Mabel is my friend too, and I'm genuinely happy for her to have obtained a mystic
weapon. Do I seem like someone who would harbor such petty feelings?”
He chuckled. “Well, anyway, I'll make sure to get one for you.”
Jonathan felt that he owed Beatrix quite a lot.
All this time, she had been a constant presence in his life, selflessly extending her support and assistance to him.
Mabel, on the other hand, had already reaped many benefits by following him.
The fact that Mabel was able to break through and reach the Divine Master realm was also attributed to the pair of Heavenly Pills
he had provided her. Despite facing a life-or-death situation, she managed to turn the tide and ascend to Level Eight of the
Divine Master realm. This achievement was also made possible because of his assistance and support. The same went for the
mystic weapon she acquired today.
Jonathan held no ill feelings toward Mabel, but when he compared the circumstances, he couldn't shake the feeling that he owed
Beatrix a greater debt.
Beatrix's smile grew warmer as she felt a surge of warmth in her heart. She could discern the genuine sincerity in his words.
While Jonathan could be childish at times, Beatrix could discern his sincerity in wanting to do something for her. With that, she
replied, “All right, I'll trust in you, then. You're truly fortunate, and I have faith that you'll be able to discover a celestial weapon.”
Jonathan grinned in response.
Just then, Aurora walked over.
“Your Majesty!” she greeted respectfully.
“No need for formalities,” said Jonathan.
Hence, Aurora continued, “Your Majesty, the information about Shanow Sword is here.” She took out a file that contained all the
freshly compiled data.
He accepted the file and said, “Thank you.”
“It's my duty.” After a short pause, she added, “If there are no further instructions, I shall take my leave.”
“Sure.”
Then, Aurora left.
Right after Aurora's departure, Beatrix said to Jonathan, “It seems like Aurora has something against you!”
He froze for a moment. “Really? I think that's just her personality. She treats the prince the same way too.”
“There's still a difference in her attitude, though. She respects Prince Solorel wholeheartedly, but her deference toward you is
more out of necessity.” She smiled faintly.
That did not bother him. “Maybe you're right. Anyway, I can understand her feelings. After all, I've just arrived today!
Furthermore, we likely left a bad impression on her since we stole her spatial ring previously.” He sighed. “I really didn't expect
things to turn out this way either. Otherwise, I wouldn't have taken her ring in the first place.”
Beatrix chuckled. “Don't worry. I can tell Aurora has great respect for Prince Solorel. Since he has made his intentions clear, I'm
sure she'll assist you earnestly.”
“You have a point.” Jonathan then opened the file containing the information on Shanow Sword.
As it turned out, Shanow Sword was tempered in the frigid Astoria Ocean using the frost essence of a thousand-year-old ice
spirit. When wielded by a powerful warrior, the sword could freeze everything within a ten-meter radius. A vampire prince, during
his expedition to the Astoria Ocean, had stumbled upon Shanow Sword and claimed it as his own. However, the original owner
of the sword remained a mystery. The vampire prince later met his demise when he was slain by Divine Emperor during an
invasion in the eastern region. Hence, Shanow Sword fell into oblivion and was eventually stored in the treasure vault. The
sword had lost its luster and was covered in rust because it had been sealed away for a long time.
Jonathan found himself in awe of life's uncanny coincidences. Mabel possessed an extraordinary mana distinct from that of
ordinary individuals. Her ability stemmed from absorbing dark energy, resulting in a manifestation of the cold attribute.
Shanow Sword, perfectly aligned with the cold attribute, was an ideal companion for her.
On the other hand, Jonathan's vitality was explosive in nature, so even if he were to wield the sword, he would not be able to
unleash its potential fully.
Isn't this the workings of destiny?
Three hours later, as night fell, Mabel finally emerged from her bedroom.
After having finished their dinner, Jonathan and Beatrix prepared to meet Solorel, who had informed them that he would join
them in two hours.
That was why they came back to wait for him.
When Mabel appeared, her beautiful face was flushed with exhilaration. Clearly, she was thrilled about her discovery.
Jonathan could not help grinning. “Looks like you're so happy that you don't need dinner anymore.”
She remained all smiles but eventually suppressed her excitement and said, “I have something to show you guys.”
Beatrix responded smilingly, “Sure. Let's see what you've got to show off.”
The hall was bathed in a pristine, white light.
Currently, Yeverie and the maidservants were absent, while Khubie and Khulark stood guard outside.
Mabel retrieved Shanow Sword from her spatial ring at this moment.
The sword emanated a radiant glow amidst the snowy ambiance of the hall, resembling a shimmering stream of snow water and
filling the space with an ethereal aura.
The temperature in the entire hall suddenly dropped.
Jonathan rubbed his nose. “That's great, Mabel. You won't need air conditioning in the summer anymore.”
Mabel rolled her eyes at him. “Watch closely.”
After exercising her vital strength, she channeled it into the sword with her mana.
All of a sudden, frost started forming along the edges of the blade.
Soon, the temperature in the hall plummeted rapidly, causing a stinging sensation to their skin.
Had they been outdoors, it would not be surprising to see snowflakes gently descending from the sky.
“This is just one of the things Shanow Sword can do. Look at the frost essence it produces!” said Mabel.
After she finished speaking, she rubbed her finger on the blade.
In an instant, powerful energy emitted from the sword, slashing fiercely forward.
With a sharp and resounding sound, the sword energy tore through the wall ahead, creating a gaping hole that resembled the
shape of a blade.
The sheer destructive power unleashed by the sword energy was astonishing.
Mabel swiftly followed up by thrusting the sword forward, her brows furrowing in concentration. “Froststorm!”
In a flash, the air in front of her transformed, turning into a small frost storm.
She lightly flicked her sword in the center of the storm, causing the frost storm to move along with Shanow Sword.
Then, she slashed the weapon forward, and instantly, countless tiny hailstones shot out like gravel.
Clink! Clank!
In a split second, the wall was riddled with holes, resembling a hornet's nest.
Jonathan rubbed his nose, amused by the sheer power exhibited by Shanow Sword. Once Mabel's mana reached a certain
level, he believed she would unlock the untapped potential of Shanow Sword. But hey, please don't wreak havoc on my home
with your demonstration!
However, Mabel remained oblivious to her actions. Contented with her achievement, she stowed away Shanow Sword into her
spatial ring securely. “So, what do you two think? Are you impressed?”
“Not bad. It's more impressive than my Imperial Wind Sword,” remarked Beatrix.
Mabel, typically a steady person, was captivated, just like a child with their favorite toy. Jonathan handed the information about
Shanow Sword to her and said, “Take a look at this.” Intrigued, she eagerly accepted it.
Meanwhile, Yeverie diligently prepared a selection of refreshments on the palace's upper floor.
An hour later, Solorel arrived ahead of schedule. After exchanging pleasantries with Jonathan, they started engaging in
conversation.
Realizing Solorel was a knowledgeable man, Jonathan now found great pleasure in conversing with him, hoping to glean
valuable insights from the prince.
Solorel then told Jonathan that among his trusted aides were the eight marquises, Walrion, and Aurora. Yeverie, Khubie, and
Khulark, too, were included.
As for the other vampires, such as the four dukes and thirty-six viscounts, they all held positions within the management
structure of the vampire hierarchy. The vampires in question had always exhibited compliance to Solorel's authority, yet they did
not enjoy the status of trusted aides in his eyes. If anything were to happen, they might choose to switch sides and defect from
their allegiance.
In fact, some of them had even been engaging in covert collaborations with other princes.
Solorel was aware of the situation; he merely turned a blind eye to it. With his firm control over the combat force, coupled with his
exceptional strength and reputation in this realm, he already possessed the necessary qualities to govern the vampires
effectively.
Given these circumstances, there was no need for him to complicate matters further.
Jonathan now had a rough understanding of the situation.
Shortly after, Aurora, Walrion, and the eight marquises all arrived.
Solorel commanded Khubie and Khulark to stand guard at the entrance, ensuring that no one would interrupt the meeting.
Additionally, he requested Yeverie's presence, inviting her to participate in the discussion actively.
The lights in the meeting room upstairs illuminated the space brightly.
Due to the confidential nature of the meeting, Mabel and Beatrix, as non-vampires, were not included in the session. Solorel
intended to keep the meeting exclusive from external parties, and Jonathan naturally respected the former's decision.
