Chapter 14
Sam P.O.V
I am physically and mentally darained. My body aches and burns. Brendan has been coming down to the basement each day giving me seven new cuts each time. But he never showed his face.
“Just let me go.” I screamed, as he cut me again.
“Now where would the fun in that be, hey?” He laughed. I screamed again, as he sliced my skin.
“Oops, sorry, my hand slipped.” Brendan said laughing louder. “Why can’t you let me go? My mother’s disappeared so this isn’t hurting her in anyway.” I said keeping my head high.
“Well we’re having fun aren’t we?” He asked holding my chin up higher, before cutting the skin on my collarbone. “Aghhhhh.”
Cole P.O.V
We had been searching for Sam for a week, now. Zaya’s a wreck, the police have reported her missing. I’ve seen her dad wondering around the woods, a few times.
We were all worried that Brendan might have got her. Wh am I kidding, of course he’s got her, there’s no other explanation. But there were no leads, apart from her car and grocery bags dropped on the ground near it.
But there was also a dint on the car, which I could only assume that it was from her head.
Her scent was all over it.
The police had taken all the evidence. But luckily we had gotten there before them, to analyse it so we could find a couple of clues, but that didn’t work too well.
“Where could she be?” Zaya asked sobbing.
We were all currently sitting at my house, I had all pack members out looking, there was only Hannah, my mother, Leo and I left, out of the pack. “That’s it I’m going, this is no use sitting and waiting for someone to tell me what’s going on.” I said, raising from my chair.
“Me too.” Hannah, Leo and Zaya said, also getting up.
“No, Zaya. I’m sorry but you can’t go. You can stay here with me and we’ll make some lunch for when they all get back here. You’ll get hurt.” My mother said worriedly, and grabbing Zaya’s arm reassuringly.
“Fine.” Zaya sighed and sat down again.
“Let’s go.” I ordered and walked out.
I shifted and took off, trying to find even the slightest bit of her scent. But there was nothing. ‘Where is she?’ I asked. ‘I don’t know.’ Stan said.
Leo, Hannah and I had split up, trying to cover more ground. I had checked everywhere, apart from inside the town. I couldn’t go into town as a massive black wolf and scare everyone. ‘We can’t find anything, Alpha.’ One of my pack members said.
‘Keep looking.’ I screamed back at them, through mind link. I could feel them whimper. ‘I’m sorry, I can’t think straight.’ I apologised.
‘It’s fine, Alpha, we’ll keep looking.’ The same pack member mind linked back. ‘Thank you.’ I said as I cut the mind link and kept searching.
It was now around midnight. And I was still out searching and so was the rest of my pack. ‘Cole, we all need to go home and get some rest. We’re exhausted. We already skipped lunch and we’re starving.’ Hannah said through mind link.
‘Go then, but I’m still looking.’ I said urging my body to stay awake.
‘No, Cole, you need rest too.’ She said. ‘No, I don’t, not until I find her.’ I said with pure determination.
‘Cole,’ she screamed, ‘what good are you to her if you find her and have no energy to fight Brendan?’ Hannah screamed.
I paused, thinking. She was right. ‘Fine.’ I said sighing and heading back home.
