Hunter (Brothers of Chaos MC)

Hunter: Chapter 7

Hunter wondered what the hell just happened. He intended to just show her to her room, then suddenly, he was kissing the woman?

She was no biker bunny. In fact, she wasn’t like any woman he’d met. Was it her face? Or those blue eyes? Or that compact body? All toned yet curvy as fuck.

He pushed the thought of that kiss and the soft moans she emitted out of his head. Or he tried. He grabbed some jeans and a tee and headed for the shower himself. It’d been a long ride today and last night. But damn, it had been worth it.

They had waited years to find out who actually killed mac. Rambler most of all as Mac was his biological brother. But they all loved Mac. A better man you couldn’t find to watch your back. It just happened to be his turn to watch over Thunder’s family that fateful day. This could have happened to any one of the men. This fact had not escaped any of the men.

He took his clothes off and tried to keep his mind off of Sabrina. Damn, he had to be careful here. What the hell was it about her? He showered then dried off. It was hard to look at the connecting door to her room, so he didn’t. Why did he put her there, next door? He refused to delve into it.

Getting dressed, he grabbed his phone and scrolled through the texts. He stopped on one. It was from Junkie. The man went by the name but not because of drugs. He was the best info contact Hunter had ever met. He typed in his number.

The man picked up on the first ring, “Hey. I got some lowdown for you.”

“Yeah?” Hunter asked. “About?”

“The Vikings just found Burr.”

Hunter stilled. “And?”

“And he was out cold. Looked half dead and Odin wants blood.”

“Shit, well anything else?’

“Anything else? Your MC went in there and attacked, man!”

“Who says we did?” Hunter countered.

“Man, it don’t take no rocket scientist to figure that shit out.”

“So? Is that what’s being said on the street?”

“No… but I—”

“Look, Junkie. Be careful. This is about to get worse.”

“No shit!” Junkie exclaimed. “Your MC done fucked this shit up!”

Hunter shook his head.

“Then there was something else odd.”

“What?” Hunter felt frustrated by his attitude.

“That girl.”

“What girl?” Hunter’s gut clenched.

“The one you took in the truck.”

“How the fuck did you kno—”

“Never mind that part. You know how I roll. Never tell. But that isn’t the fucking point.”

“Then what is?” Hunter asked as he pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration.

“A guy was following her and I think… he followed all of you.”

Hunter’s body went rigid at this news. “Impossible. All the brothers in are trained to—”

“Hey now,” Junkie cut him off. “I just thought you would appreciate the heads up. So till next time Nicco.” Junkie hung up.

Hunter stared down at the cell. He hated this guy half the time. But shit, he was never wrong. He sat and tugged his boots on then grabbed his cut and put it on. He snatched up his gun, checked the clip, and shoved it into his vest. He needed to ask Sabrina if there would be a reason someone was following her.

He went out the door and up to Sabrina’s. He knocked. Then he waited.

Nothing.

He knocked again. Then with a frustrated sigh, he opened it. Gazing around, it looked the same as when he’d left forty minutes ago. He went over to the bathroom door and it stood wide open. A damp towel sat on the sink. He turned and left the room.

For some reason, his senses were firing that something wasn’t right. He relied on his senses. They saved his ass more than once. He hurried into the main room.

Everyone sat with pizza on paper plates. He looked around and saw Phoenix. He figured she might know where Sabrina was. Heading over, he paused at their table.

Rambler looked up. “What?”

Hunter gave him a nod then glanced over at Phoenix. “Did you see Sabrina…Like recently?”

She nodded and wiped her mouth with a napkin. “She went out to her truck. Said she had some stuff she wanted to bring in?”

He nodded and turned.

Wizard rushed across the room making B-line for him. “Hunter…”

Hunter didn’t like the look on the man’s face and now, alarm bells were going off in his head.

Wizard tugged his arm and nodded his head down at the laptop he was holding.

Hunter stared at the screen.

On it…Sabrina was at her truck. Then she turned her head and someone was talking to her. The camera only caught the back of the man who’d somehow, just showed up out of nowhere.

The man was talking to her.

Sabrina then yelled at him and backed up.

The guy grabbed her, slammed her up against the truck, and whipped out a knife. He whispered to her, then opened the door and pushed her into her truck.

“What. In. The. Fuck?” Hunter seethed.

Rambler stood up while looking concerned.

Sinner rushed over. “What is it?”

“We have a damn trespasser and he’s taken Sabrina,” Wizard explained quickly.

Phoenix stood up while looking pale. “No!”

Hunter saw the time on the video feed. This all happened just 4 or 5 minutes ago. He raced out through the front as he heard Wizard telling them what happened.

The front gates to the compound were smashed open.

“Fuck!” Hunter swore.

The men all came out.

“He made her crash the gates with that old truck,” Wizard announced. “The feed showed he came in from the back of the compound.”

Thunder whistled to get everyone’s attention. “Sinner, Bearcat, and Hunter, go!”

Hunter had fished his Bluetooth out of his saddlebag and had it in his ear already then sat on his bike as he started it. He felt something in his chest and he wondered at it. Fear? He shook his head. Nah, I’m just pissed that someone got in here. He shook the feeling away and headed out.

Two bikes roared from behind him.

He would fuck this asswipe up, when he got a hold of him.

They headed down the road. At top speeds, they could catch them. That old truck wouldn’t go over 55 the whole way here, so he knew they could catch them if they went fast enough.

He lowered his body on his cycle and tamped up the accelerator.

There was only one road out of the Rio Grande valley and he was on it. The only turn they could make was at mile marker 20. He just knew he could catch them before they could get on interstate 25.

His Bluetooth buzzed and he tapped it.

“What the fuck are you doing?” Sinner’s voice came over it. “You are going 98, Hunter!”

“Yes, I know Sinner. We have to catch them…” He saw the old white truck up ahead. “Ok, I got them. We will fall back and follow, till he stops.”

“Okay man, as long as you don’t kill yoursel—”

Hunter tapped the phone off. The fuck, he would be dying. No, this fucker in the truck was the dead man.
