Chapter 28
Asgeir POV
I woke up suddenly, with this feeling in the pit of my stomach. It was that familiar feeling that I always got when my subconscious was trying to warn me against something.
I looked towards my side and saw that Aeldit was asleep, with his arm wrapped me. I let out a breath of relief, but I couldn't rid myself if that feeling that only seemed to get stronger.
I got up slowly, trying not to wake him up as I did, and walked to the edge of the cliff. I pulled the fur coat closer to my body and looked over.
Everything seemed to be okay outside, but that didn't ease me in any way. I sighed again and looked ahead once more. I tried to squint my eyes, when I thought I saw something in the distance. I widened my eyes when I realized that what I saw was actually torches. Hundred of them, coming our way.
I rushed back and woke Aeldit up violently, actually shaking him awake.
"What's wrong?" He asked as he sat up.
"Something's wrong. There are hundreds of torches out there, coming this way." I said in a panicked voice.
He got up swiftly and walked towards the cliff. Him being a dragon, he could naturally see farther than I could and by the look on his face, I knew that whatever it was , was not good. I wrapped my arm around my tummy out of instinct and looked at him.
"It's okay. I won't let anyone hurt you. Both of you." He said and kissed the top of my head and closing the fur coat over me.
"Who is it.?" I asked looking over the cliff again. I could see they were carrying flags, but I couldn't make out just who's flag it was.
But before he could answer me, there was a loud bang at the entrance of our room, making us both turn and I was met with the eyes of Gregor. Those cruel eyes that I wished I didn't have to look into.
Aeldit stood in front of me, shielding me as Gregor looked at me, then at Aeldit, with a look of pure disgust on his face.
"I've finally found you." He said looking past Aeldit and straight at me.
I watched as Aeldit stepped forward and allowed his dragon to take over. I watched as the fire spread through his veins, making them glow through his skin with a fiery glow. I watched as Gregor's eyes widen when he saw Aeldit transform into his dragon right before his eyes.
I wasn't sure if he was surprised that Aeldit could take a human form, of he was surprised at the fact that I did not move from my place behind Aeldit.
My heard turned to the person behind Gregor as Arkyn barged and looked at me. I was about run to him and hug him, when Gregor had released his bow, and shot an arrow directly into Aeldit's arm.
"Noo" I screamed and wanted to push Gregor away, but Arkyn was at my side in an instant and held me back despite my screaming.
"Let me go brother! Let me go! He's hurting him.!" I screamed and began punching Arkyn to get out of his grasp, but he only pulled me backwards as more soldiers flooded the room and began shooting arrows at Aeldit.
By now, there was tears streaming down my face when I saw how Aeldit was looking at me while he tried to fight off the soldiers, it was clear as daylight, that he was more worried about me than himself.
I saw through my tears, that Arvid and Armod had entered the room and ran to me. Armod wrapped his arms around me hugged me, but despite having my brothers here, like I had dreamt, I could stop my screaming and crying, begging them not to hurt Aeldit.
I felt Armod tense up againt me and withdrew looking at me with wide eyes.
"Arkyn, he's.. he's." He stuttered as he looked down to my stomach.
"He's what!" Arkyn yelled as he kept his hold on me.
Armod loosened the tie on my fur coat, letting it fall to the ground and exposing my extremely huge belly. He gasped and looked at me with pure shock and looked back at Arkyn.
"I think you should see yourself." He said and stepped back.
"Holy shit! He's huge." Arvid said looking at me with wide eyes.
By the time, Arkyn had turned me around the look on his face was filled shock when he saw my huge belly.
"You can't be. You can't be pregnant." He said shaking his head while he looked at me with big eyes.
"I am! It's he's baby also. So please. Don't let them hurt him. Please brother. I'm begging you, don't let them hurt him." I cried and grabbed onto Arkyn 's clothes while I sobbed.
"Brother he's pregnant. We shouldn't-"
"I can see he's pregnant!" Arkyn yelled cutting Arvid off. He moved me out of the way and yelled at all the soldiers.
"Stand down now!" And they all dropped their weapons and turned towards Arkyn.
"As your crown prince, I command you not to harm the dragon any further." He said and all the soldiers bowed their heads.
"Are you fucking kidding me! Don't listen to him! Kill the dragon now!" Gregor yelled at the commander, who just looked at him.
"You're not our prince, we take no orders from you." He said and turned to nod his head at Arkyn.
It was only then that Gregor looked at me, his eyes traveling to my belly and back up to my eyes. When he broke out into laughter, almost everyone looked at him like he was insane.
"Wow. Are you really that desperate to get fucked that you let a dragon fuck you? God you're more of a whore than I ever-"
His words got cut off when he got punched to the ground. I looked at Armod, who looked down at Gregor who had spat out some blood and glared up at Armod.
"Don't you ever call my brother that again. If anything, you're the biggest whore here in this room." He said and punched Gregor one more time, this time knocking him out.
"He's right. You're huge! How old is that kid" he asked when he came to stand in front of me , making me chuckle despite my tears.
"He's four months." I said running my hand across my belly.
We all watched as Aeldit slowly shifted back into his human form and collapsed in front of me. I ran to him and held his head in my lap.
"Why didn't you fight back?" I asked through my tears as I saw all the arrows stuck in his body.
"I didn't want anything to happen to you or our baby. I would have rather died, if it meant I could protect you both." He said and raised his bloody hand to wipe away a few of my tears.
It was only then that I realized that he was standing infront of me, to protect me from all the stray arrows that were shooting in my direction and that if he had to move, they would have definitely hit me.
"I love you. Asgeir. So much." He said as he slowly closed his eyes.
"No! No no. Don't leave me. Please don't." I said and placed my forehead against his while I cried.
"He still has a pulse. But it's weak." Arvid said as he
held two fingers against the side of the Aeldit's neck and setting me at ease.
"How is he able to do that? Transform into a human I mean? Dragons aren't supposed to do that." Armod said bending down to look at Aeldit.
"I don't know, he doesn't either. We just woke up one morning and he was in human form." I said as I caressed his cheek with my thumb.
"But I must say, he is one good looking human." Armod said earning himself a punch from Arvid and laugh from me.
When I noticed that Arkyn had not said anything but was rather just looking at the whole scene in front of him, I looked at him, wishing he would just say something.
"We have to take you back Asgeir."
