Chapter 55
My jaw felt like it hung down to the floor. I felt Lucian grab my hand protectively before moving me behind him. I could tell that he was royally pissed.
I looked over at the elder to see if he was going to do something. His eyes were big and filled with shock at first but then he blinked it away and regained his composure.
"May I ask what the son of Zeus is doing here?" Just as Aiden was about to say something, Lucian flew forward with a punch that hit his jaw.
Aiden fell to the ground because of the unexpected impact. His smug face, however, didn't falter for even a split second.
A single drop of blood trailed down his chin before he wiped it away with his forearm. "Finally, the big proud alpha grew a pair" Aiden said in a mocking tone.
A growl erupted from Lucian's chest before he got into a fighting stance. Aiden quickly jumped up onto his feet before he also did the same.
My heart was pounding out of control at that point. "Hey lover boy. How about we fight for the hand of Scarlet", Aiden said in his smug tone. 1
Another growl erupted from Lucian's chest. Aiden shrugged his shoulders, "No answer is still, an answer." Then he threw an uppercut, making Lucian's head shoot upward, spitting up blood.
A drop fell on my face and my heart felt like a jackhammer in my chest fighting to break through my ribcage. Lucian took a few steps back from the impact.
When he recovered, he flew in with a roundhouse kick.
His foot connected with Aiden's right side of his face right next to his eye. He fell to the ground and Lucian wasted no time. He pounced on top of him, throwing blow after blow into his face.
Blood splattered, causing the light grey wall nearby to turn into a speckled pattern. Oh moon goddess help me, I whispered under my breath. Just when I thought Aiden was done for, he flipped over, causing Lucian to be at the bottom.
He pounded into his ribs and I gasped, worried about my mate. When I took a step closer on my way to break up the fight, the pack doors flew open.
I shot my head in the direction of the door. I saw two figures walking towards us with anger lining each fast-paced step.
I recognized the woman. She was the moon goddess. Relief filled me once more.
I heard a bang behind me and turned my head to see both Aiden and Lucian pinned to the wall with a transparent blue light lining their wrists and ankles like ropes. "Enough", The moon goddess said angrily.
I looked over at her again and I saw she was accompanied by a man. A man so tall he barely fitted inside of the pack house. He was gigantic and muscular with dirty blond hair.
His eyes were something I had never seen before. They glowed like stars. "What is the meaning of this?" He asked in a calm tone, turning to the elder.
He soon fell onto his knees shocked at what he saw before him. "My apologies my goddess. They were battling for the hand of Scarlet Bloodmoon", he said in an anxious tone. "Well, there will be no need for that", she said in a poised tone.
She looked over at me and then between the two men that were hanging on the walls like two pieces of artwork. "Let's give Scarlet the decision." She continued. 1
"NO" Aiden said, causing her to raise her brown at him. "IM ZEUSES CHILD I HAVE THE RIGHT" "And what right would that be exactly?" She asked while stepping closer to him slowly but menacingly.
"TO CHOOSE WHO I WANT AND NO ONE CAN STAND IN MY WAY" She shook her head at his words. "And why exactly would you want Scarlet?" Aiden kept quiet uncertain of what to say.
"Well" He bit down on his lip thinking. "Just what I thought. You're just like your father." She said whilst turning her attention to me.
She took hold of both my hands and looked me in the eyes with warmth and care rolling off her aura
"Scarlet, you have every right to go against him. As my daughter, you are on the same level as him, since neither of you have taken any role on mount Olympus yet. You choose who you will see at the end of the isle and no one will take that away from you" Wait what?
I stood stunned. This was way too much information at once and it felt like my brain was frying the more I was thinking about each word that had escaped her mouth.
"I know it's a lot, my dear child. I wanted to ease you into this reality but unfortunately,"
She turned her head slowly, looking straight at Aiden. "Someone took that way from you."
"Y.. Your my...my...m...mom?" I asked with my voice breaking and betraying me. She nodded her head. "I will tell you everything you want to know my child once all of this is." I hugged her tightly.
Not wanting her to finish her sentence. I wanted this moment to last forever. Holding my mom in my arms. The missing piece to my identity.
She rubbed my back and hugged me tightly. "Oh my dear child I've missed you so much", She said, and I could feel a tear drop onto my shoulder when it soaked through my clothes and hit my skin.
A flash of memories went by in my mind like a slideshow. I saw her hold me and care for me. Play with me and when I became a teen I saw Zeus come and fight with her.
They argued and before I knew it my new life started, it all went by in such a fast flash that I only caught a bit of it all. Her hug tightened before she broke off the hug.
"Don't let Zeus influence you my child", She whispered in my ear. She wiped the tear trail off her face and shook her head to regain herself. "Now, my child, who will you choose?"
