A Kokitu’s Guide to Understanding the Nokri Language
Akai [ah-kī]: Relational term of the highest honor and respect; rendered as brother.
Cano [kay-no]: Hunter.
Colbi [kole-bee]: Delicate; also means consistent.
Eja [ee-zha]: Nokri faction which remains religiously impartial from the Moesa and Jitsa.
Forizu [for-ee-zoo]: Loyal, also means devotion.
Ginica [je-nee-ka]: Flower, also means beautiful.
Hernok: [hur-nock]: Secret, also means curious.
Jitsa [jit-sah]: Nokri faction which accepts Yajuel as the one true God.
Karga [car-gah]: Forceful; also means sharp.
Keila [kay-la]: Heart, also means love.
Kokitu [kō-kee-too]: A foreigner, or anyone who isn’t Nokri.
Lafi [lah-fee]: Elk, both male and female.
Malka [mal-ka]: Queen, or any daughter of the king or queen.
Malko [mal-kō]: King, or any son of the king or queen.
Misra [mees-ra]: A juice made from qayis berries.
Moesa [mo-ay-sah]: Nokri faction which clings to the traditional teaching of their shamans.
Nahar [na-har]: River.
Norsi [nor-see]: Waterfall.
Okia [o-kee-a]: Home.
Qayis [kay-is]: A small bluish-purple berry, equally sweet and tart.
Ronos [rō-nōs]: The captain of a hunting party or war party.
Sekka [sek-a]: Hope, also means courage.
Tehom [tay-hōm]: Ocean.
Tassa [ta-sa]: Lake.
Tovu [toe-voo]: Solid, in the context of being difficult to move.
