Chapter 381
Chapter 381
Vincenzo
Fabio High School Diary 2-
This week has been a disaster.
On my way home from school, I got stalked by the transfer student. I’ll call her Snooper.
To make matters worse, it turns out she’s my neighbor, and no matter how hard I try, I just can’t run away from her.
I thought she was just joking around about marrying me, but her parents are one of the most influential people in town, and if
there’s something dad loves even more than his Mustang, it’s money.
Please keep me in your prayers!!!
I’ll need them!!!
“Well, dad,” I mumbled, closing the book. “Turns out our life isn’t that different after all.”
The Snooper figure in his diary reminded me an awful lot of my wife.
I would love to have read further, but the loud cries from downstairs stopped me from doing so.
Only one person had a baby, and that was none other than Livia. The confusing woman who would one day decide to be friendly,
and the other, treat me with a cold shoulder.
Having nothing better to do, I went downstairs to tease the woman for a bit.
With a worried expression, she tried to shush Dace while an uncomfortable Luis stood beside her with his book in his hands.
“I’m sorry, he isn’t usually like this.” She struggled with the bottle in her hands.
I stopped in my steps, wondering whether it would be okay to tease a mother who was clearly having a hard time.
Fuck it.
It was just, Livia.
“Hey, hey!” I ran down the stairs, shaking my head disapprovingly. “Why is this random baby disturbing my peace?”
Luis chuckled, begging me to stop teasing her with his pitiful look.
“Vince, I am so sorry!” Lívia apologized, rocking her baby. “I know I promised he wouldn’t be a problem, and usually he isn’t, but-”
“It’s a joke.” I would’ve loved to make her sweat for a bit longer, but for some reason, with her, I just couldn’t do it. My heart
wouldn’t allow it.
I stretched my arms to offer help and grabbed the baby from her hands. “We don’t cry in this house.” My eyes moved to the cute
little pout on his lips as he was seconds away from waking the city.
“Only laughing is allowed.”
Strangely enough, those words helped as Dace went into fits of laughter. He reached his tiny hands and scratched my nose.
“That’s impossible.” Livia gasped, as did Luis.
“It’s really not.” Knowing I had done something to impress her boosted my confidence. I had been trying to do that for a while
now, and she was not an easy target. “Everyone likes me, isn’t that right, Dace?”
The joyful laugh coming from Livia’s mouth made my day. This strange feeling, I couldn’t quite describe
I guess she had been so judgmental. Her acceptance mattered to me.
“You should go ahead and help Luis. I’ll watch him.”
“W-What?” She frowned, touching her baby’s cheek. “Vince, you really don’t have to do that.”
“It’s not a problem, really,” I reassured her. “Dace and I, we understand each other.”
“I left his diaper bag in the hall. Here’s his bottle!” She pushed the item into my hand, not arguing any further.
It was either that or let Luis miss a day of tutoring, and I could not let that happen.
“Lord, I’m so embarrassed right now.” The woman facepalmed, hiding her flushed cheeks.
“Don’t be.” I shrugged. “Raising a child isn’t easy. I’ve practically raised Luis.”
Luis nodded, backing me up. “He did.” He said. “He’ll make a good dad one day.” I feared I might’ve given him the wrong
impression about my intentions.
I wasn’t trying to hit on a woman with a 7-month baby. Impossible.
“Hmm, maybe.” Livia grinned, looking me up and down. She grabbed the books from Luis’ hands and placed her hand on his
head. “Luis, let’s go.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
Holding Dace in my hands, I looked as the two of them walked off. I had expected him to cry for his mother, but luckily that didn’t
happen.
“So.” I faced little Dace. “What are you and I going to do?”
Watching Dace was easier than expected. All the maids melted at his cuteness, and he seemed to enjoy every bit of attention.
Admiring his adorable face, I could certainly tell he had many of his mother’s charms. Livia loved to pretend she wasn’t fond of
me, but I wasn’t stupid and would always notice the slight smile on her beautiful face.
“No, no-that’s not it.” I whispered, shaking my head.
She was Luis’ teacher and a mom.
Besides, I already had-
“Vincey, Vince!”
A wife.
Sparing her an eye roll, I watched as Aria entered the living room with a bunch of shopping bags in her hand.
She loved to spend money, and I wasn’t going to be a hater and lie to myself. She looked good doing it.
Whenever she did, she had this glow that made her much more bearable.
Ever since we spent more time together, after she had forced herself to tag along-I realized she had a different side to her.
Our personalities were so different, but that only interested me even more. It was fascinating to see how her brain worked and
how she always managed to turn everything into the Aria show.
It was cute even.
She gasped, dropping her bags to the floor as she slammed her hands over her mouth. “Oh my god-it’s the baby!” She pointed
out, smiling ear to ear. “Dace, isn’t it?”
“Yes.”
Aria ran over to touch the boy’s hand, making him giggle. “Hi, handsome cutie!” Her voice made me want to puke, but at the
same time, it was wholesome.
Her eyes were sincere. She genuinely enjoyed being around him, and unlike the first time, it wasn’t some crazy scheme to get on
my good side.
“So there’s someone who does like you.” I couldn’t help but chuckle at the two.
“What do you mean by that?” Aria pursed her lips, but I could see the pain in her eyes. “Don’t you like me?” Maybe that comment
was a bit uncalled for.
“We’re getting along nowadays.” I indirectly answered the question. I was starting to like her, but just as a human being, not even
as a friend. It wouldn’t be wise to give her the wrong idea.
“Not that it’s any of my business, but why are you watching him?”
“Livia was having a hard time.”
“That poor thing” Aria showed her compassion.
“She has to teach Luis, take care of a baby, and hold herself back from jumping on top of my extremely hot and married
husband. It was impressive how she could go from serious to jealous in seconds.
“I know.” I accepted the compliment either way.
“Can’t she just send him to daycare?”
“I don’t think daycare is for everyone.” I hoped that suggestion didn’t come from jealousy. “Personally, I wouldn’t want to send my
child before they could speak and express themselves.”
“I understand.” Aria shrugged. “We all have different opinions.”
“Oh, so you’re listening to opinions now?”
Aria released a breath, ignoring my attempts to call her out, and patted Dace’s head. “Who could ever be evil enough to hurt
someone this precious?” I almost couldn’t believe it when tears threatened to spill from her eyes.
It was either that, or she must’ve had an eye infection.
She was heartless and extremely tough to get through so it couldn’t be.
Aria would only cry when something wouldn’t go her way.
In any case, please hold back your tears.
Comforting others had never been my strong suit. That one time in the car when she cried after I scolded her as if I were her
dad, I did not know what to do.
I did not want a repeat of that.
“Are you okay?” I asked.
“I’m fine. He’s just so cute, and I really love children.” Aria’s voice trembled. “I know, it’s stupid. You don’t have to tell me.”
Who would’ve thought a child could get her that emotional?
“I won’t.”
“Livia must really trust you.” She placed her hand on my arm. “Leaving a baby in someone else’s care is not something easy.”
“I know.”
Luis was a teenager, yet I felt uncomfortable whenever he was around other people as I didn’t have complete control over him.
Livia trusted me with her world, it felt nice, and I would do anything to maintain that trust.
“Do you want children in the future?”
Shit
“W-With you?”
“I’m just asking, relax!” Aria waved her hands.
I already got my answer to that question. Children were a big no, and I was against them. It was clear Fabio had traumatized me,
and until I could get over that trauma, I would never be ready to be a parent.
When I was younger, mom and dad treated me with all the love one could wish for-but after mom passed away, something
shifted.
Fabio turned evil, and even if I promised myself not to become like him-one could never know what the future holds.
“I don’t think I’d make a good parent.” I decided to give her the short version.
“I don’t agree,” Aria told me, tightening her grip around my arm. “I think you’re underestimating yourself.” She grinned...
“Maybe I am.”
My phone went off, and I received a text.
Beau:
You need to come here right now!
He send the location of one of the Garcia-Morales’ warehouses.
Vince:
What’s wrong?
Beau:
One of your guys stole Siena’s necklace and Chris is losing it.
He has them kneeling on the floor like dogs.
Beau send a picture, making me turn around instantly.
The text scared me, but so did Christian’s temper, and Aria’s big mouth, so I didn’t know how to take the information.
What did he mean someone stole a necklace?
“What’s wrong?” Aria scooted closer.
“Nothing” She didn’t give me the chance to answer her question, as she had already pulled my phone from my hand.
Her eyes grew dark, and I knew it was game over. “Watching the baby was nice, but I’m afraid it’s time for us to go.” She spoke.
“I don’t know what the hell your friend is talking about, but I will not let a Lamberti correct my people.”
