His Love In Time: Volume I

Chapter 3: Genesis

SOMETHING IS DIFFERENT… PEACEFUL.

It is peaceful because the only thing that I can feel around me is love. It feels like nothing exists around me, no universe, no death or life. This is strange because I cannot feel myself breathing. I am not afraid of anything. It is like time is standing completely still. I should be frightened, but I am not. I cannot see anything, at all. I cannot feel anything but a vast void all around me. There is not an ounce of light or darkness. Not sure how I can see dark like I am blind.

It dawns on me about something Michael told me, “When you die, Jacob, you cease to exist.”

Does this mean that I am dead? I refuse to admit that I go out like this. Does this mean that I cease to exist? All these questions but no answers. I sit up in the nothingness to attempt to look around. After staring off into oblivion; it becomes clear that my eyes are not giving me any answers. A charming man comes to my side and sits down next to me. He is about six-feet tall, with beautiful golden eyes. I do not mean a golden- brown, I mean literally golden. His long brown hair is just past His shoulders. His beard makes him look like an Israeli model.

He speaks, “I am going to be honest with you, Jacob.” He knows my name. Do I respond or just listen to Him? “I want you to look around here. Notice that there is nothing. No hopes, no dreams, and no fears. I have not even given breath to light nor have I created light. But here you are, sitting in the void.” It feels like He knows something, but I will remain silent. “I am going to show you something. Something that I would not normally allow.” He speaks, and it feels like a loving father talking to his son. “I am going to let you see how it all began. You have the power to go home, whenever you would like. However, Jacob, you must figure out how,” He says with a smile.

I begin to wonder what He means by this, not wanting to remember the battle that forced me to get here in the first place. Part of me wants to confront Him and demand to know what He means. While I sit here, looking at nothing, trying to figure out how I would say it. But I know that I should not question the Lord or His methods. Maybe He will shed some light on the situation later. If I am at the beginning of creation, there is a lot that He is going to be doing.

I am keeping an eye on God to see what He was going to do next. He is standing still, looking around at the void. He is looking around like he is looking at something. I am trying to understand his methods, but it is not my place to understand. I hope that what I see are a bunch of angels coming out of nowhere or the entire universe beginning to roll out of his hands.

What I see, however, is more than I could ever imagine possible.

God, the creator, puts his hands in a ball formation. He tucks an imaginary ball into His stomach and says, “Let there be light,” and throws His hands up. At this moment a blinding light appears in the darkness. Separating the light from the darkness, where we stand. We, quickly, move to a watery place. With dark blue waters throughout the abyss. The darkness and the light are separated by a line between them, but they are visible at the same time. God turns to me and says, “The darkness I will call night, but the light I will call day. For now, they will rotate as I command.” Looking around, I can see all of the planets taking form but still empty. They are just black balls in the darkness.

There is not much to look at, at this moment in time. He does not create any place for us to sleep or rest. It is just a ball of water that we were standing on. For years, I thought that God created the heavens and the earth first, in that order, but I was wrong. God created light, first. But the light was nothing more than light to separate from the dark, or so I thought. Watching this happen, before my eyes, is something that I could never imagine on my own.

The “next morning” God says, “I am far from done. Creating light, was to embark on the first day. But as you can see, there is no time to rest.” God bends down and puts His hands under the water and begins to lift. A clear blanket lifts from the waters, and he throws them up. “The clear blanket” he says, “will be called the sky.”

Once He does this, all the other planets that have been created, thus far, also develop atmospheres that God calls the sky. He looks at me and says, “Day two,” and winks. But God does not rest. God disappears from the earth. Where He goes, I have no idea, but one thing is for sure, He does not want to be seen.

I walk around the waters, feeling special that I am the first human to explore these waters under my feet. The seas are so calm, and clean. There are not any fish beneath my feet. It is strange to see the only water beneath me. I begin to wonder about his statement regarding me being able to go home, but I have to figure out how.

Getting bored in this vast abyss known as the ocean, I begin to kick the water around. It is not like I can scare the fish or anything like that. He has not made any. Still, I have a hard time getting rid of feeling as if I’ve been sent here for a reason. It is an outrageous thought, especially since I do not think that God would allow anyone to be here.

God fades back into view and says, “I have finished creating the heavens. I have also finished creating heaven and the celestial beings. Come, Jacob, you have to see for yourself.” God waves his hand, palm facing away, and a portal appears. The same type of portal that resides in Limbo City. “Please, step through,” God asks me.

It was no worry of mine to step through the liquid, rainbow portal to another world. As I step through the portal, I am flooded with thoughts of me finally going home. A quick change in scenery and I am in heaven. I have been here before. This is where all of the souls that are granted permission end up. Only, it is different.

I run, ferociously, to Gabriel’s apartment. I just know it has to be here. The layout here is identical to the one back home. As I run over golden benches, skipping across the rainbow river, and slid through the glass river, I arrive at a massive building. The building is, easily, thirty stories tall. It is also modern. Did He really send me to my home, I think silently to myself. I have been distracted by the hope of wanting to be home, without realizing that these buildings have always been here. I look at the building, up then down, and remember a conversation I had with Michael when I was training.

“In the off chance that Lucifer decides to embark on the war he has always dreamed of, you need to know your way around. Heaven is like any building here in Limbo. In fact, all of the buildings that you see in Heaven have been here since the beginning. So, do not be surprised if you witness someone getting upset if a building gets destroyed. Imagine a building standing at attention for billions of years.”

I look up at Gabriel’s apartment and begin to wonder if he is even here. If so, does he know me?

All questions that will be answered shortly. God appears next to me, just like on earth, and looks around. He asks me, “Are you alright?”

“Yeah, I just remembered that my best friend has not been created.”

“Remember, my young Jacob, once he is created… he will not know you,” God says as a reminder.

Looking at all that heaven has to offer, it is gorgeous. To see the perfect shade of green in the trees, the crystal clear waters, and the buildings made of white pearls. I also see another stairway, made of a rainbow. I glance over at God to see Him with His eyes closed. His eyelids are fluttering. I can’t figure out what He is doing. A bright light appears out of nowhere. The light is growing and out walks an angel. The Archangel Michael walks out of the lighted portal. He is huge, putting any bodybuilder to shame, type huge. He is smiling and just happy to be here. Followed by Lucifer. He looks different, but the same. He has the same features, tall dark and handsome, but he is bearing light. Wearing the most beautiful white suit. Makes me wonder what era this is, but it is definitely a suit. Someone I have never actually seen but heard of, Ariel, a female angel. Followed by Uriel, Sariel, Raphael, all of which I have gotten to know. They are like family to me. The youngest, and most like me, walks out next. My best friend, an angel that I have been waiting to see for guidance. Gabriel.

All of the Sons of God, walking through the portal. He is so happy and proud to see them walk through and not one of them is being anything but peaceful and joyful. They all are singing praises to Him and putting God on the pedestal.

I quickly run to Gabriel to give him the most significant “bro hug” I can muster up. He just stands still, like he doesn’t know me. Although, it takes me a moment to realize. He doesn’t know me.

He looks at me, with anger and hatred in his eyes, “What?”

“I’m sorry, Gabe, I just wanted to give you a hug,” I say in fear. As I think that this possibly could ruin our friendship, forever.

He sighs and continues about his business. Completely ignoring me, but then says, “I don’t know who you are, or where you fall in the ranks with the Creator. But one thing is for sure, we are not friends.” He walks away.

I have never felt so hurt in my life. Everything was all fine and dandy until that happened. But I know that God has a reason for me being here. I just wish my “best friend” knew that.

I want to see if I will get the same result from Michael. I hurry to his side to greet him, but not in the same fashion as Gabriel. I run to the apartment building and think to myself, I wonder if he lives in the same apartment now? I jump and give a few flaps of my wings and land on his balcony.

“Brother?” he says to me.

Fantastic, I think to myself.

“Michael! Welcome home, it is such a pleasure to see you here,” I say with a different technique.

“Thank you,” he takes his sword and belt off and hangs them up in his fully furnished apartment. God has provided everything the angels need. I remember visiting Gabriel, back home, and pouring a drink of water. After putting the pitcher down, the water refilled itself.

“I just wanted to give you a proper welcome, I will see you later.”

“Very well, brother. It is nice to meet you.”

I turn around and take a leap off of the balcony, flying through the air.

God appears and escorts me back to the portal. He offers His arm around mine to give me a fatherly hug. He apparently knows what has just happened between Gabriel and me. I think that I am becoming more of a best friend with God than Gabriel. Will God remember me, when I am living in Limbo?

We walk through the portal and were on earth, once again. Nothing has changed from before, but it is a new day. Strangely enough, I do not remember sleeping.

“Day three?” He asks me.

“Day three,” I confirm.

We stand in silence for a few minutes. It is not awkward. I know that He is focusing. I know that he still has five more days before he can rest. Not to mention the length of time between days.

He tilts his head backward and rises his hands up to the sky. He then says, “Let the waters under the sky be gathered into one place, so that the dry land may appear!” A gigantic ball explodes from the earth’s core. The ball hurls into space and slows down to where the moon typically would be. Staring at the ball of molten lava in the sky, hardening, I haven’t noticed that we are now standing on the igneous rock.

“So, the science of the creation makes sense. If only they knew the truth,” I said.

“They know the truth, Jacob. They just choose not to accept it,” God says in response.

“If they could see what you have created with their own eyes,” I argue.

“Seeing is not the same as believing. I do not want anyone to believe everything they see. Believe with your heart, and I will never steer you wrong. I am love.”

I stand in silence. He kneels down and looks at the vast land mass that he has just created. He is placing his palm on the ground when he says, “Earth.” And all of the igneous rock begins to change color. Parts are sandy, others are rocky. The softest sand is around the coast, and the driest is in the center.

He walks to the coastline, I follow. When we reach the motionless ocean, I look into the waters. All of the rocks and land under the waters are here, now. He leans down, once again. He strings his fingers into the water and says, “seas.”

He straightens up and rises his hands again. “Bring forth vegetation, seed-bearing plants, and fruit trees, each bearing fruit with seed according to its kind.” A loud rumble echoes through the plains. Billions of plants sprout. But plants I had never seen before. Most of which I only remember reading about in the encyclopedia.

He looks at me, once again, and says, “Day three has been completed. I have allowed you a room in the beautiful building of the archangels.” A cloud appears in His hand, “I think you will like your view.”

The portal from before appears just like it was there the entire time. We walk through the portal. He places the portal inside the apartment. The apartment is furnished entirely, the way that I had it in Limbo. Only one thing is missing. My wife.

I walk to the balcony, with God still in the living room. Looking out, I recognize the view. “God is this Limbo?!”

“No, this is heaven. I have not created Limbo. However, it will be in the future.”

“You mean; you only have one heaven in the future?”

“You’re joking right?” he asks sarcastically. “My heavens are beautiful places that most people only dream of going,” he continues, getting louder. “You should be lucky to have a city – lucky that I haven’t taken it away. Having the heaven that turns into Limbo City is just another one of my brilliant creations. I said that if you believe in my son, then you will have eternal life. I never said that you wouldn’t live in Limbo. And have you ever asked me what I talk about with the souls that come to me, on that platform that you guard? No! Sometimes, I just don’t want to send them to a fiery river! Just because you don’t know, doesn’t mean you’re supposed to assume.”

It was the scariest conversation I’ve ever had with Him. I was worried that He was getting tired of me and was going to send me to that fiery river. “I’m sorry, God. I didn’t mean to offend you,” I apologize.

“I know, and I am sorry as well. You only asked a question. From here on out, I will always answer a question.”

I try to redeem myself, “Day four?” I ask with a smile.

“Day four,” He says, laughing. He glances at all the vegetation on the earth. “I need to create a light source to govern the day. It will be bright and help my vegetation grow strong. And a bright light at night, but not as bright. Also stars in the sky, that will be where my angels will reside.”

He pulls His arm backwards, winding up his arm, and throws a ball into the sky. The ball appears out of nowhere, and enters space as it grows. It grows and grows until it becomes the size of the sun. The bright, yellow, star stands still. He then begins moving his arms in a circular motion to cause both the sun and the earth to rotate. The molten lava ball in the sky starts to glow white. It doesn’t move like the sun or the planet, but it follows the spin. “Now we have a day and night. I am ready for day five.”

From behind one of the trees, in the distance, I notice a familiar angel. Lucifer is spying on us, with a hateful eye. He leans over, devilishly, and hides behind the tree. A bright flash glows from behind that tree. God must have noticed, but chooses not to care. We are walking through the forest, looking at the trees. Watching the light beaming in through the treetops. God snaps His fingers, and a portal appears. We aimlessly walk right through.

Once inside heaven, I am relieved that Lucifer is nowhere to be found. This gives me a moment, to begin to worry about his whereabouts. God is walking around to the other angels, receiving praise, left and right. I become curious about what I know of Lucifer and choose to sneak into His throne room. I keep my eyes on the door, hoping to find him in the act.

I hear the sound of a wet finger on a balloon, but I keep my eyes focused down the hallway of His palace.

“Hello,” says a quiet, haunting voice.

I look up, shocked to see him sitting in God’s chair. He is lounging, with his feet propped up. His eyes are looking down on me. His perfectly chiseled face is welcoming, open, with a slight smile on his thick red lips. But his eyebrows have a natural hate to them.

“My name is Lucifer, the morning star,” he continues. “I couldn’t help but notice that Father has taken a liking to you. You must be Jacob Sprite.”

My mind is racing with confusion. Is he really threatened by me? Creation is only a few days old, and he thinks that he has something to worry about.

“What’s your problem?” I insist.

He laughs the way the devil would laugh, evil. “Oh, I think you know what my problem is. The entire universe will be at my every call. What gives you the right to take my place in line?!”

I return the dirty look that is piercing into my spirit.

“No,” I insist. “Don’t start thinking that God loves any of us more. If anyone, you’re the favorite.

He questions me, “The favorite?”

“Of course,” I say. “Is that not good enough for you? I mean, my goodness, anyone would give anything to be considered His favorite.” The more I try to defend myself, the more I realize it’s not going to work anyway.

Lucifer straightens up in the golden throne and leans in towards me. “Is that a challenge?”

“You need to get a grip,” I say, turning around as I leave the room.

The walls in the room are pillared with gold. There’s a perfect arch between each of the pillars. Between each of the golden arches, beautiful water drizzles down. This is indeed the most beautiful room in the entire kingdom. On the side of the room sits a perfectly sculpted birdbath with a blue glow. Inside the shallow stone basin, is a golden based bowl. The blue water reveals something incredible. The entire universe.

“That’s right, walk away pretty boy,” Lucifer says behind my back.

I pause and turn around. “I’m not done with you, yet.”

He bows his head and gives me one last glare and smiles.

I look back at the golden bowl and can hear footsteps from the other hallway, leading to the throne room.

Lucifer stands up, fast, and amounts to the right of the chair. “Chicken,” I mumble.

“Shh!”

“That’s my viewing dish,” God says as he turns the corner. He inches his way towards where Lucifer and I were.

I smile and say, “It’s gorgeous.”

He arrives next to me, staring at the plate and says, “Thank you.”

“Is this the entire universe?”

“What do you think?” He asks.

“Yes,” I reply.

I place my finger in the middle, towards one of the many galaxies. It zooms in on the galaxy, revealing several thousand solar systems. Each of them perfectly made, and each of them is still growing. Realizing what happens when I dip my finger in the water, I sink in a solar system. The water gets closer and closer to earth. “Nice try, Jacob. That’s not Earth.”

Without much time, he zooms out of where I was looking and zooms in on earth. They look identical to each other. How he can pinpoint planet earth and not planet three-million four, I’ll never know.

He smiles and pats me on the back. He then turns his gaze towards Lucifer. “Jacob?”

“Yes, Lord?”

“I need to have a talk with Lucifer,” you can cut the tension in the room with a knife. It is so nerve-racking.

I walk out of the palace and take flight. I fly to my apartment for the time being. It has been a long day, and I am exhausted. It feels like I have been awake for thousands, no really millions, of years.

I slept harder and more peaceful than I have in a long time. I stumble out of my, to welcome a surprise. God is sitting on my couch. He is smiling at me, and looking out the balcony. He stands up and walks to me. He guides me to the balcony and says, “It is time for day five, Jacob.” He pushes me off the balcony, my wings open up, and I take flight like an eagle.

There is nothing like a first of the morning flight. Feeling the wind beneath my wings, each flap coming with ease. I fly high into the heavenly clouds and drop. Hurling fast down. God pulls a fast one and opens a portal under me while flying. I am now flying, head first, to the passive continent, Pangea. God is on the ground, with his arms crossed. Due to the speed, my wings are not responding to me. Gravity, the strong force beneath me, is pulling me head first to the ground.

But I am suddenly stopped inches from God’s hand.

“Thankfully, I have brought your air brakes,” He says.

He lowers me to the ground, safely on my feet. I say, graciously, “Very funny Father.”

God walks to the waters, with me following behind. Kneeling down, like he has before, he places his hand over his mouth. Cupping his lips, God draws a breath of air out. He then puts his hand inside the water. A bright light flows out from his hand, and billions of tiny lights swim out. He picks up a small ball of water and throws it up in the air. The water ball explodes into flying creatures. I say, creatures, because I don’t see an eagle, I don’t see a dove. I see the pterosaurs, the pterodactyl and so many other flying dinosaurs. In the waters I watch sharks appear, huge crocodiles, and many other dinosaurs that put elephants and whales to shame.

“Um, God?” I speak up.

“Yes?” He responds.

“The dinosaurs are not alive anymore.”

“I know, my design. My execution.”

“Touché.”

“The waters are to teem with all the creatures of the sea and be fruitful and multiply. The creatures of the sky, do as well.” The sun goes down, and the moon rises. We watch the night, together, as father and son would do on a fishing trip. “So, Jacob. You called these creatures dinosaurs?”

“Yes, but I am not the one that chose the name. Scientists from centuries before I was born did.”

“I see,” He continues. “Should I be threatened of Lucifer?”

“Are you really asking me?” I ask in surprise.

“Of course.”

“To be honest, no. But Lucifer is going to rebel against you,” I admit.

“It’s a good thing that while we are here, on earth, I left Michael in charge.”

“That is a wise choice,” I compliment.

“Now, day six,” God takes flight. I try to catch up, but even without wings, God is far too fast.” It’s too bad that I am unable to keep up, but I can visualize where he is going.

As He predicted, I land in the easternmost part of the massive island. Looking around I can see nothing much has changed. God is kneeling down and forces land crawlers into the ground. This is by far the most disgusting thing to witness. Every bug, every spider, every ant crawls out of His fingertips. As he stands up, the creatures begin to grow. Small dinosaurs all the way up to enormous dinosaurs.

“Be fruitful and multiply!”

God turns and kneels down, once again. He says, “I call you, man, to rise from the earth.”

A man stands up out of the dirt like he had been laying there the entire time. This man is lean and muscular. His long brown hair, curls over his shoulders. He walks outward and stands still. Like he isn’t sure what to do. Lifeless, just a dummy, a puppet.

God raises his hands and calls lava to boom out of a nearby volcano. The beautiful orange and red hurls to Him like a lava lamp. The lava begins to take form into another human. As it lands, it is clear that God has created a woman. The story of the woman being created from Adam’s rib must have been symbolic.

God looks at the lifeless man and woman. He whispers into his right and left hand. “On my right, Adam. On my left, Lilith.”

‘Lilith?!’ I thought to myself. ’Who is she?! She cannot be the same Lilith in Limbo… could she?’

He releases the two hands into their nostrils, and they both come to life. Lilith is of average height, with long curly red hair. Her eyes are as dark as night. She is beautiful and an excellent mate for Adam. Has my travel back in time messed with things?

I can’t understand what went wrong, but I know there has to be a reason behind it.

“What troubles you, Jacob?” God asks me, with a genuinely concerned tone in His voice.

“It’s nothing, God. I just don’t know what I did wrong.”

“What makes you think you did anything wrong?”

“In the beginning, you are supposed to create Adam and Eve, not Adam and Lilith. I’ve never heard of her.”

His eyebrows pushed together. “I assure you, this is for the best. Now the two of them can take charge of this land.”

I sigh. I walk away, and a portal opens up. Nothing makes sense to me. Nothing.

The portal opens up in my bedroom. I choose to lay down and go to sleep. God is still on earth.

The next morning, I decide to look in on everyone. But rather than going to earth, I fly to the throne room. I am happy to see that Lucifer is not in His chair and that the viewing table is still zoomed in on earth. I search the globe to find the Garden, but it is hard to spot. I think to myself, ’Maybe God hasn’t created it yet.’

I finally find God and Adam. But Lilith is missing. Shouldn’t she be by their side? It didn’t matter. I wanted to see if anything else has changed. All I can see is Adam resting on a tree, sound asleep, and God is creating the Garden around them. Perhaps Lilith is with the dinosaurs.

I try to zoom in more but am unable to. I storm outside the palace to find the closest portal to walk through.

I walk into the garden. It is the most beautiful garden ever created. Vibrant green grass, tall fruit trees, with a little brook flowing through it. Just gorgeous, beyond belief.

Off in the distance, I hear a laugh that was so magical I could make it into my ringtone. I think to myself, I’ve listened to this laugh before. I quickly shuffle to where the laughter is coming from. In the center of a grassy field, is a woman. Three little bunnies are playing with her, making her giggle. This woman looks a lot like an Amazonian Princess mixed with an Israeli Princess. If I didn’t know any better.

I run to her.

She hears me running, and it startles her. She glances at me, and I know without a shred of a doubt. God has granted me a wish. My beautiful wife, Lynn, is here. I don’t understand why she’s not wearing any clothes, but she’s here! Praise God! I get by her side, hold her familiar hands. Give her a hug, and she barely lifts her arms around me to hug me back. “I’ve missed you so much!”

“Uh, thanks?” she says in response.

“When did you get here?” I ask in excitement.

“About an hour ago, why?”

“Lynn, what’s wrong?”

“Nothing is wrong, I am fine.”

“Then why won’t you hold me, Lynn?”

“Because I am playing with the bunnies.”

“But, Lynn…”

“Why do you keep calling me Lynn? My name is Eve.”

“Eve?!”
