His Lethal Love

Chapter 69

Scott POV.

"Come on, you can do it. Dammit, you can fucking do it!" I growled, curling my fingers into fists. I felt rage flowing through me like hot lava as my entire body shook. It was extremely painful for me to hear Conan's bastard doing that to me. I desperately wanted to kill him. There was no doubt in my mind that he had planned everything carefully. That was part of his revenge plan. The two of them were together. It hurt me. I was being fucked up by them. As Conan stood on stage, I glared at him fervently, wanting nothing more than to choke him to death.

"Will you marry me?" Camille said yes when he asked her again. I heard people cheer and applaud loudly for them. As I gripped a bottle of hard liquor and placed it in my mouth, I felt my breath shake. As I devoured the entire contents, I kept my eyes on Camille. Her eyes were filled with resentment rather than concern as she watched me.

She hates me!

She hates me fiercely!

I love her!

I love her passionately!

Stagnantly, I approached the stage holding a wine bottle. Once I ascended the stage, the guests suddenly stopped talking and turned their attention to me. While staring at Camille aka Cara Davidson, my lips curled with a sneer. In an attempt to make her uncomfortable, I stepped up to her. She hesitatingly glanced at Conan who had a scowl on his face.

"Congratulations..." I held out my hand for a shake and my lips curled with a snarl.

Camille eyed my hand before turning her gaze to me. "Thanks," she said sarcastically, ignoring my hand. "Can I have a microphone?" I held out my hand toward Conan who was holding the microphone. "Sure." He nodded and passed it on to me. His expression looked somewhat hesitant.

"Hey, you all..." I slurred and the entire crowd replied enthusiastically as they were waiting for my next move. I glanced at Camille briefly before resuming speaking. "I would like to share my love story with you..." I laughed hesitantly and people fell quiet. "It was when I was twelve or thirteen..." I scratched my head, recalling my age when I moved to Davidson's mansion. "My family and I moved to my owner's house. There, I met the cutest and sassiest girl I had ever met." I paused, smiling and remembering the moment when I first saw Camille. She had short hair and a boyish look. "Though she was not my type, I fell in love with her. She had this sassy and cool personality. I always thought that she would not love me because I was poor. I dreamed of becoming rich so that I could marry her. I never wanted to become an actor but I chose this path because it was the easiest way to make fat money..." I swallowed hard. My throat was clogged with emotions. "The funniest thing is I never realised I loved that girl until I saw her with my brother... Before I could have a chance she chose to be with somebody else..." I glanced at my audience who was listening to me with keen interest. I knew I was not in my right state of mind but I felt compelled to do this because I wanted to hurt her. I wanted to let her know that she was also wrong somewhere.

"I did not know what made that girl so special that I fell in love with her. She would insult me all the time and call me names. I respected her even though she bullied me and humiliated my family..." I laughed dryly. "I wanted to see her happy... I just wanted to see her smiling all the time." I bit into my lower lip. "Always... It was blind love. I just loved her and I wanted to be with her but she never..." I clenched the microphone in my hand, breathing sharply. "I still love her as much as I used to love her years ago."

With my shaking hand, I gave Conan the microphone, whose expression was hardened. When I looked at Camille, I saw water in her eyes, and my heart ached. There was a look of pain and brokenness on her face. I was successful at doing damage. She felt what I felt at that moment. There was a part of me that wished she would get out of that stupid engagement.

Unless she breaks this engagement, I will make her break it. It would be impossible for me to imagine her with anyone else. Because I am a selfish bastard.

After a while, I got into the car and was about to start driving when Maura dashed inside, breathing heavily. A pissed expression appeared on her face as she breathed for a few minutes.

"What was that?" she demanded clenching her teeth. "You just made fun of me in front of the whole audience."

"There was nothing I did." I snapped and put the key in the ignition.

"What was that stupid love story, Scott? Even though everyone knows that I am your wife and your childhood sweetheart, you are still speaking of other women in front of me. Thank you for making me feel humiliated." "Oh, you're fun." I laughed, then drove.

"You've lost your mind," she hissed and tried to stop me from driving. "What the fuck are you doing?" I brushed away her hands roughly.

"You can't drive while you're drunk."

"I know how to drive, now leave me fucking alone!" I shouted at her angrily.

"I can't let you drive, Scott. Take a look at yourself in the mirror and see how horrified you appear."

She moved the steering wheel to the other side and slammed her hand on the brake. Due to the sudden impact, our bodies jerked forward and our heads hit the dashboard. Maura cried out in pain and I grunted, massaging my wounded temple. I spotted red blood dripping on the car mat and a moment later I found out it was Maura's.

"Shit!" I was alarmed and bolted upright. "Maura." Her head was hanging on the seat and her eyes were closed. I moved closer to her, feeling her breathing. "Are you okay?" When she didn't respond I rushed to my seat and tried to start the

car.

"Fuck!" I slammed the steering wheel when the engine didn't work. I noticed thick grey smoke rising from the car's hood. I quickly dragged myself out and opened Maura's door. I panicked when I smelled fuel. "Shit! Shit! Shit!" I threw Maura's arm on my neck and slid my free arm under her knees and carried her. I got her off and headed for the other side of the street. When my car caught fire, I heard a loud explosion. The thick black smoke rose in the air as I could feel the scorching heat against my body. Thankfully the road was deserted and no vehicles were parked there. Trying to locate someone to ask for help, I glanced around, but no one was in sight.

I looked at Muara whose head lay against my chest and blood oozed from her wound. My black shirt was matted in thick, warm liquid. I checked on Maura at the hospital after an hour. As I waited for the doctor, I sat in the waiting room. My head lay against the seat and my eyes were closed. I could feel nasty pain on the back of my head. I had drunk so much that I was unable to digest it. It had been a while since I had been drunk.

A frown creased my brows when I heard murmurs of people. I glanced outside the hospital at the monitor where the press was gathering. People didn't take much time to find out our news. I slumped against the seat, sighing in despair. I was tired and exhausted and I didn't want to face them again. I looked at the latest news and my eyes popped out in shock. Maura and I were sitting in the car when someone clicked our pictures privately.

SCOTT MARTINEZ WAS SPOTTED BEATING HIS WIFE MUARA GARCIA

It was headlined. Those pictures were taken so cleverly that it looked like I was hitting Maura. As our images slid across the screen, I could see our pictures from every angle. Maura was crying and I looked furious. It was the time when she tried to prevent me from driving and I brushed her hands away roughly. Again someone had framed me and I knew who had done it.

Camille!

I heard people gathering outside the hospital. The media van, cameraman, and press were waiting for me to come out. The next moment the cops' car came to a halt and the policemen climbed out. Media, cops, and the press. This was planned. I had done this to her and she was doing this to me. An eye for an eye. I remembered when she was arrested and stayed in jail for one day.

The officer headed for me. I stood up, watching him confidently.

"Mr. Martinez, you have been charged with domestic violence." The officer moved forward and handcuffed my wrist. I said nothing and followed them. I saw the crowd screaming, shouting, and protesting while the officer shoved me into the car. I smiled sadly and looked at my fans who were there for my support. Suddenly my eyes caught a woman who appeared pleased with the news.

Camille was standing near her car with Conan, smiling. There was a satisfied look on her face. She raised her hand and gave me a thumbs-up. What had she become? I didn't know how far she would go. I was afraid it would not end our lives. I deserved every penny of her hatred but what scared me was she would not regret it later because I had less time.

I swallowed hard, enduring severe pain in my head. The doctor said I had just a few months. In these few months, I had to make her realise her love for me. I knew I would never be with her and my daughter forever but whatever time I had left I wanted to make it memorable.
