His Ex Wife Is A Billionaire

Chapter 60

Chapter 60
“Did y’all hear that? This chick actually expects me to apologize to that waiter. I’m dying! Did you think twice before you spouted
that nonsense?” Glynnis was laughing so hard she could hardly breathe, and the two ladies at her side couldn’t keep their
laughter in either.
I
“I’m spending my hard-earned cash here. My necklace breaks, the service here sucks, and when I voice a few complaints, you
guys get pis sed off? Right! You have the audacity to demand an apology... Do you think you own this joint or something? Why
can’t I criticize anything?”
Jason squinted his eyes, thinking to himself, if they knew that all the K Hotels in the country were owned by Ms. Ilana, they’d
probably be too scared to utter another word. “Don’t you worry that this might tarnish the image of Thaddeus’ hard-earned
empire? Don’t you fear embarra**ing the Abernathy family?” Evadne stared at her co olly.
“Hmmph, don’t try to scare me. I’m not the CEO. I don’t care.”
Glynnis retorted nonchalantly, “Besides, he’s the CEO, he should be pouring all his energy into the Abernathy Group, taking on
all the risks, and dealing with these issues. What else is he doing sitting in that position all day? Father put him in charge, and he
should do something worthwhile!”
The waitstaff around them were shocked to hear this.
Evadne couldn’t help but chuckle. This family might have appeared harmonious on the outside, but behind closed doors, they
were all using each other, each with their own agenda.
Glynnis fundamentally looked down on Thaddeus. To her and her mother, this “illegitimate child” was nothing more than a tool to
be used. They might have appeared close on the surface, but in reality, they held him in contempt.
Ilana had seen through the façade of this family when she married Thaddeus. If it wasn’t for her deep love for the man, she
wouldn’t have been able to survive in this family. “Miss, even if you don’t care about the Abernathy Group’s image, you should at
least care about your own reputation, right?”
“Don’t be a scaremonger! Let me tell you, Ilana, just because you have President Ashbourne backing you up doesn’t mean I’m
scared of you. We Abernathys aren’t pushovers!” Glynnis put her hands on her hips defiantly. “Where’s security? Get this country
bumpkin out of here! She’s bringing down the tone of our Moonlit Treasures!”
Two security guards immediately sprang into action, heading towards Evadne, ready to forcibly remove her.
Evadne sat there, immovable as a rock, when Jason suddenly sprung up, sending one of the guards flying with a single kick. He
was a black belt in Taekwondo, more than enough to handle two measly security guards!
Glynnis was taken aback, but the female waitstaff around them were blushing with excitement. He was just too handsome! Could
they get his number?

“If Glynnis insists on being stubborn, I guess I’ll have to take this up with you formally.” With that, Evadne picked up her phone,
waving it at Glynnis. “Come, I have something. interesting to show you.”
Glynnis didn’t dare show any fear in front of everyone, so she walked over to the woman who terrified her. She peered at the
phone screen and her eyes nearly popped out of her head. She was both angry and embarra**ed!
Evadne calmly showed her the pictures, one after another. Each one more explicit and outrageous than the last! All were
pictures from the night at the hotel, Glynnis with two male models in compromising positions, even pictures of them kissing, all
wet and touching...
What the hell?! She had made sure they deleted the photos, could it be...
Evadne, expressionless, put her phone away. “My demand is simple, you publicly apologize, and I’ll delete all these pictures,
without a trace. If you refuse to apologize, well, you know what I’ll do.”
Glynnis was so mad her lips were trembling, her heart filled with fear! Her mother Elspeth had spoiled her rotten since she was
little, with the sole purpose of marrying her off to a rich family like the Jareths. If these pictures got out, her reputation would be
ruined, how could Mr. Jareth possibly look at her then?!
With that thought, she decided to go for broke, reaching out to grab Evadne’s phone!
Evadne raised an eyebrow, easily dodging her. Glynnis ended up sprawled on the sofa, missing her target. She was seething,
and without thinking, she raised her hand and tried to slap Evadne!
Smack! The crisp sound of a slap echoed, causing everyone present to gasp in shock.
Evadne’s icy gaze, and the strength of her slap, sent Glynnis sprawling onto the floor.
“Ah!” Five distinct red finger marks appeared on Glynnis’ delicate face! All this happened in a split second. So fast, it was hard to
catch!
Jason inwardly cheered. Anyone who dared to hit his lady was asking for it!
The two rich girls who had been backing Glynnis were so scared that their faces turned pale. They backed away, fearing they
might get involved.
“You... You hit me?! You dare hit me?” Glynnis looked at Evadne’s indifferent face in shock, her face numb from the pain.
“Or what, wait for you to bite me?” Evadne looked at her coldly, dusting off her hands.
“How dare you!” Glynnis was so mad that her face turned beet red.
Just then, the door to Moonlit Treasures opened. Evadne looked up, feeling a cold presence wash over her.
The next second, Thaddeus’ tall and handsome figure appeared in the stunned gazes of everyone present.
The ex-couple locked eyes, both startled. Then, Evadne shifted her gaze slightly, acting as if she didn’t know him, her
indifference palpable.
Thaddeus’ lips were tightly closed, his eyes deep, his heart uneasy.
‘Thaddeus!”

Like she had found her savior, Glynnis sobbed her way over to Thaddeus to tattle, “Ilana’s gone crazy! She hit me! You must
stand up for me!”
“I did hit you. The slap is still warm.” Evadne’s lips curled into a smirk, unabashedly admitting to it.
“What’re you here for?” Thaddeus asked, his eyes cold as ice.
“You tell me.”
Once upon a time, whenever Ilana looked at him, her eyes used to sparkle like the stars. But now, she was like an emotionless
puppet, that hopeful sparkle was nowhere to be found.
A sudden tightness gripped Thaddeus’ chest, a wave of complex emotions tearing at his insides.

Thad! Ilana actually wanted me to... publicly apologize to her hotel’s female staff! I refused, so she threatened me using her
connections! She even hit me!” When Glynnis noticed Thaddeus didn’t really care about her being hit, she started crying out
loud. “Thad! Everyone is watching! They can all prove I’m innocent!” “Ilana, you’ve put videos online, letting netizens attack the
Abernathy family, isn’t that enough? Now you want us to apologize publicly?” Thaddeus’ brows furrowed, his tone low and icy. “Is
this your insatiable greed?”
Jason couldn’t stand it and wanted to retort, but was held back by Evadne, who sheltered him behind her. This act infuriated
Thaddeus. All the humiliation he had suffered in front of his ex-wife since their break-up seemed to find a vent.
“I don’t think I’m greedy. I’m just doing what’s right.” Evadne’s eyes were as hard and deep as a gun barrel.
“Hmph, I don’t care if you’re doing what’s right or helping Cas sius, I won’t let you have your way.”
“Then there’s nothing to talk about goodbye.” Evadne left proudly, with hands in her trouser pockets, leaving a trace of coldness
behind.
“Wait wait!”
Glynnis remembered the photos still in her hands; she was sweating profusely, “Thad, Ilana is trying to defame me with photos of
my indecent behavior! She’s forcing me to apologize! You can’t just let her go like this!”
Hearing this, Thaddeus’ eyes filled with a cold glimmer, and he strode over to block her way. “Hand over your phone.”
“You think I’ll just do whatever you say? Who do you think you are?” Evadne sneered, fuming.
Thaddeus didn’t say much, and he quickly sna tched her phone.
Glynnis watched with glee. Just as her mom said, Thaddeus would always help her out. What a great ally!
“Thaddeus! Give me back my phone!” Evadne was so frantic she could hardly breathe. She lunged at him like a little monkey,
scratching and grabbing. Unfortunately, her heels were too high, she twisted her ankle and fell into Thaddeus’ warm, strong
arms.
As they collided. Thaddeus instinctively wrapped his arms around her slender waist. Evadne was both embarra**ed and angry,

her cheeks flushed like ripe cherries, but her hands were unconsciously exploring his physique through his shirt fabric.
Da mn, perfect
Thaddeus narrowed his eyes, focusing on the phone, with one arm around Evadne’s waist, the other clutching her phone tightly.
0923. That was her lock screen code, and he remembered it clearly, but he was not sure if she had changed it.
His thumb quickly pressed the four digits, and the phone lit up.
