His Destructive, Toxic Love

Chapter 612

Eliza: ...

So, it really was an affair.

Both of them have families, so why would they do something like this?

"You two sure know how to find trouble," Casper said, pulling out an invoice and tossing it over. "You've made a mess of this lounge with your antics, and now we have to remodel it. Take a look at the cost." The man picked up the invoice from the floor, nearly fainting from shock. "Mr. Casper, this is... way too much. I don't have that kind of money."

"No money means you don't have to pay?" Drew hoisted the man up. "Dustin, what were you thinking, sneaking around in the CEO's office? You sure stirred things up, causing tension between our CEO and his wife. Now you balk at paying for the damage? How about a little visit to the cops instead?" "No, no, I'll pay, I'll pay," the man stammered, bracing himself to cover the cost of his blunder. The man was eventually escorted out.

With that, the drama wrapped up.

It all seemed a bit too easy, too neat, and Eliza couldn't shake the feeling something was off. "Casper, you didn't hire those two as actors, did you?"

"You saw the video, the surveillance tape, right? It's all timestamped; I couldn't have faked that," he insisted.

Eliza couldn't find a reason to argue.

So she let it slide.

"Alright, let's leave it be," she said, standing to leave.

Casper held her by the waist, pulling her back down. "After all this, don't I deserve a little something?"

"A little something like what?" she asked, playing innocent.

He pointed to his cheek. "A kiss."

"Don't push it."

"I've been wronged and scared by you. My heart still hurts; feel it," he said, placing her hand on his chest.

Eliza pulled her hand back, rolling her eyes. "Casper, why are you being so cheesy?"

"I just want a kiss." If he wasn't sitting, he would've been dancing around.

"Save it for when we're home," she said, unwilling to kiss in the office.

"Come on, just one kiss, and I'll let you go, he pleaded, acting all

His hand held the back of her head, making it hard for her to pull away from the unexpected kiss. "Casper, you always have some trick up your sleeve," Eliza finally managed to push him away.

Just as the man was about to lean in again, his phone buzzed on the desk.

"Hello?" he answered.

Eliza took the opportunity to slip away. "I'm heading back."

He sent her an air kiss, a cheeky smile on his lips.

"Casper, it's me."

The familiar voice on the phone made his smile vanish like a wave retreating. "Casper, can we meet?"

The voice on the other end was soft.

Casper's grip on the phone tightened.

That afternoon, as Eliza left the

thirteenth floor, she turned a corner, decidin to pop into the café across

the street for a coffee pick-me-up.

She'd been feeling utterly exhausted lately.

More than when she was just sketching.

Pushing open the café door, she walked up to the counter and ordered an iced Americano.

While waiting, she glanced around idly.

Seeing Casper there caught her off guard.

He rarely came to cafes like this for coffee; he'd usually have someone else fetch it.

No, he wasn't just there for coffee. Across from him sat a woman and a boy, around ten years old. They seemed to be deep in a serious conversation.

A woman and a child?
