High School Terrans

Chapter 27

Michael came walking up to Blackwell’s front door ready to confront him. He knew one or another all would end tonight.

“Michael?” Jeffrey said greeting him at the door. “What do I owe his visit?”

“Jeffrey, or is it Tieran it’s time for us to have a chat.”

“So you discovered my secret? Then please come in,” he said ushering him into the house closing the door. “We can talk in the den.”

Tieran guided him into the den standing in front of his desk. “So you found me out?” he said. “Would you like something to drink?”

“No.....Tieran do you remember the trials?”

“Of course, every Terran does,” he said, pouring himself a drink.

“You know it’s a funny thing because I actually have my son to thank for cluing me in so then I went back and checked out the holos and saw you paid half dozen visits to your brother before him and the rest were sent to Peragus. You changed you and your family’s name when you came to Earth.”

“I didn’t want my brother’s crimes to be a blight on the family.”

“However, I went back and looked...Tieran, who is Jaden’s Mother?”

Tieran just stood staring Michael down. “You have no right to interrogate me like this,” he said, indignantly.

“He’s not your son, is he? When in fact he’s your nephew.”

Tieran took a swig of his drinking sitting down behind his desk. “Thomas and Diana were loyal to the cause but they were not stupid. He knew as well as I did that a target would be painted on his son’s back eventually. So after Thomas got sent away he entrusted me to take care of Jaden letting him believe the man who raised him was his father. It has always remained a secret apparently until now.”

“So then you just decided to pick up where your brother left off?”

“My brother was sloppy.” he said, “However, this time we did it right under your noses.”

Tieran sat his drink down upon the desk seeing Michael pull out a pair of electronic handcuffs.

“So that is what it is now?”

Suddenly, the doors to the den slammed shut loudly. “Why don’t you sit down?” Tieran asked.

With a wave of his hand, a chair slid forward forcing Michael into the seat unable to move.

“All of the events at the high school? You are using teenagers?”

“My nephew knows what we are hoping to accomplish,” Tieran said, smiling satisfactorily.

Michael struggled jumping out of his chair and flung his arm up slamming Tieran up against the wall pinning him.

“You sent him after my son and his friends?!” Michael asked, looking angrily

“All starts with the youth,” he said mentally knocking Michael back against the side of the desk.

“We see a future where our people can rise up and reclaim this world for our own. The possibilities are endless.”

“You crossed the line, Tieran,” Michael said recovering. “The robbery at the museum? There are only a few Terrans with that level of power who could have pulled it off. Peter Wright? I suspect you had something to do with that also.”

“The obelisk is rightfully ours. It does not belong in a museum.”

“What does it do?”

“It enhances a Terran’s power, whoever possesses it, ten fold.”

“Where is it?” Michael asked indignantly.

“It is safe,” he said, smoothing his clothes over, “It is in my private safe.”

“Let me see it.”

Tieran went to the bookcase and opened the safe; however, when he looked inside the obelisk was missing turning back to Michael.

“It’s gone.”

“Who would have taken it?”

“.....Jaden,” Tieran said solemnly.

“You have no idea how much damage you have caused,” Michael said defiantly.

Michael quickly slid the desk slamming Jaden up against the wall that knocked the wind out of Tieran’s lungs. The handcuffs flew through the air landing on his wrists.

“You’re already too late,” he said, stoically. “By now he’s most likely already at the Homecoming dance at the high school.”

“These cuffs will hold you until the Terrans authorities arrive.”

Michael walked back out getting into his car starting to drive away as the phone rang.

“Michael, are you alright?” Jennifer asked.

“Yes, I confronted Tieran Blackwell,” he replied. “I know where the museum’s obelisk went to.”

“They were the ones who had it all along?”

“Yeah, it appears Tieran was looking to take over his brother’s work of creating their own Terran coup on Earth and using the kids to do it. They are heading to the school.”

“The Homecoming Dance,” Jennifer said gasping. “Good Lord, if Kyle is there.”

“Our son is smart, Jen,” he said consolingly.

“Do you know what the obelisk is for?”

“Yes, the obelisk was used as a weapon to enhance Terran abilities to the highest degree. It looks like Tieran’s nephew, Jaden, stole it and it could really do a lot of damage if we don’t get it back.”

“Wait, his nephew?”

“Yes, I’ll explain later,” Michael replied, switching into a higher gear to go faster. “Meet me at the school.”
