High School Terrans

Chapter 11

Kyle, Dan, and Christian created a day of competing on the ocean waves as Sarah and Anna looked on from the beach. Kyle and Dan hovered on their boards in mid air gliding on top of the water. Christian coasted on his board catching every way that came his way.

“Look at that,” Dan said.

From down the coastline, Morgan and Nicholas were on their own hoverboards doing flips and tricks on top of the water.

“Wow, look at them,” he exclaimed.

“They may even have me beat,” Kyle said.

“We going to stand by and let them outdo us?” Dan asked.

“Hardly,” Kyle said smiling.

Christian, having swum to shore, watched the action play out.

“Your boyfriend is good.”

“Thanks,” Sarah answered.

“Christian is a master on the longboard,” Anna said leaning over to kiss him.

Kyle and Dan ran up the beach shaking the water out of their hair.

“Did you see us?” Dan asked. “We were on point.”

“Looks like you were having fun,” Sarah said.

They all sat down together and Kyle leans in giving Sarah a kiss.

“Maybe you can learn how to surf too so we can both be out on the water,” Kyle said smiling.

“That’s okay,” Sarah replied smiling. “I am more of a land girl.”

From down the beach, Dan could see Morgan and Nicholas slowly approach them.

“Hey, looks who’s coming by?” he said.

“Hey, that was some really good sky surfing out there,” Dan said grabbing their attention.

“Thanks,” Morgan said. “This seems like one of the best places for it.”

“Closest thing to what we had back at home,” Nicholas said.

“What are your names?” Kyle asked.

“Morgan.”

“Nicholas.”

“You go to the same school as Kyle and Dan?” Sarah questioned.

“Carlsbad?” Morgan answered. “Yeah, it’s definitely an adjustment but we’re getting used to it I feel.”

“Everything is still new to us even after the couple of years here,” Nicholas said.

“I’d imagine,” she said.

“Well, I’m Kyle, this is Dan, and this is Sarah, Christian and Anna,” Kyle said.

Everyone shook hands as Morgan drew his attention more to Dan.

“I couldn’t get how good you were out there,” he said.

“It’s nothing,” Dan said. “Just takes practice.”

“Yeah....listen if you are interested a bunch of us thought about starting up a sky surfing team to represent the school. Could play against others in real tournaments.”

“That sounds like a great idea,” Dan answered.

“We thought so too,” Nicholas said. “We already had talked to the principal about it and he thought it was a good idea too.”

“You are really gifted,” Morgan said. “We think you’d be a real asset.”

From the looks on everyone’s faces, it gave Dan the voice of encouragement.

“I’m in,” he said. “Sign me up.”

Dan shook their hands and Morgan and Nicholas joined the group socializing, but from a lookout over the beach, a man stood who was looking and listening in on the group below.
