Chapter 55
Escape
I stay in my own mind, thoughts of the twins swirling around in my head. If this person is alone I can easily take them, I do not like bloodshed, but if it’s how I stay alive to get back to my mates then that’s how it’ll have to be. As a former human, bloodshed wasn’t common in my life, it seems though that as a werewolf...life revolves around it.
Cierra....Luna...Cierra, fuck, come on I know you aren’t asleep and I’m risking my damn arse for you! Get up. I hear Toby aggressively whisper at me, my eyes fly open, oh thank goddess it’s him.
Don’t talk Luna, just hurry.
I jump up out of the bed, grab a hoodie off the end of the bed and follow Toby as I walk. My heart continues to try and beat its way out of my chest as we stealthily make our way through a long hallway to a large wooden door, thanking the goddess for werewolf sight because as a human I would not be able to see my hand in front of my face. Toby opens the door as quietly as the big old slab of wood could be on rusty hinges and as we head through it shuts it behind him, we head down a dusty spiralling flight of stairs until we get to another corridor, this one isn’t as long but damn the floor boards are creaky. We finally get to a room with a door that leads outside, Toby opens it carefully and peers his head out, he tells me to stay put while he heads out to check the coast is clear. He walks a few steps out, looks around and then comes back “Ok it’s time to go, stay right behind me and be quick and quiet.” He says, I nod to him and we make our way away from the building.
We head directly in the tall grass much taller than me, and make our way towards the trees ahead. I pick up on a familiar scent and pause for a moment, Toby notices and yanks my arm, ” keep moving, we don’t need to get caught. My mate is waiting for us to get to your pack to safety we need to move. The stress of waiting to see if i make it isn’t good for my pup.”
I nod at Toby and continue walking, Ersa is pacing in my head, she’s pushing images of our mates into my head, of course, that’s what the scent is. I grab Tobys hand and stop him, I motion to him to crouch down and try to link my Alpha’s.
Aries? Ajax?...are you here?
Oh Baby, who has you? I hear Ajax in my head
His name is Toby, he is helping me escape
Stay put Cierra we’re coming for you, we’re right behind you. Comes Aries stern voice floating through my mind.
“Toby, the twins are here, stay still, they’re just behind us” I tell him.
“Great, I do get to die today.” He replies
I stifle a giggle at his response as the twins’ scents flood my senses.
“Oh my love, it’s so good to see you” Aries says as he scoops me up one hand behind my back and one behind my legs and starts away from the building with long fast strides, I look over his shoulder to see Ajax following, him and Bear looking angry either side of Toby. Aries carries me for a while before we come to a stop, I hear engines coming towards us, they must be friendly as we make our way towards the sound.
A black SUV pulls up and Aries places me in the back, then he climbs in after me, Ajax climbs in next as Bear places Toby in the row in front of us and takes a seat next to him.
Toby speaks for the first time since they caught up to us just as Aries and Ajax start to lean in to me, as they hear his voice they both stiffen and turn towards him.
“Please, can I ask where we are going? I need to link my mate, I can’t leave her. She was waiting in a getaway car for me and the Luna. Please, she is carrying my pup.” He pleads looking between the Alpha’s and Bear. A long uncomfortable pause fills the vehicle.
“We are going to High Moon Pack, she can meet us there where we will decide your fate.” Aries replies to him, I go to speak but Aries takes my face in his hands and silences me with his mouth. I melt into his touch as he pulls me on to his lap, only a couple seconds have passed but I hear a low growl behind me and feel more strong arms come around my waist as I’m pulled from Aries embrace and into Ajax lap. He turns my head and crashes his lips into mine.
I feel Aries hand coming around me hugging me from behind as he becomes impatient. He lets out a low growl “MINE,” Ajax pulls away from me softly and looks past me to Aries, “and mine brother.” He says with a cocky grin. I giggle at them both and move out of Ajax lap to the seat between them. Ajax looks at me pretending to be hurt by my moving pouting his lip and giving me his best puppy dog eyes. I boop his nose and laugh, I rest my hands on each of their thighs, now we’ve been somewhat reacquainted, I need to tell my Alpha’s about Toby. I open a link to both of them,
My loves, thank the moon goddess you came. I have missed you so much.
And we have been going crazy without you baby, but again you’ve proved yourself a strong Luna, we are so sorry, we should have been there Cici.
Ajax, it’s OK I’m unharmed, I was actually well looked after, Argon is so far gone he thought I was just going to agree to be his Luna, convinced himself that his feelings were reciprocated.
We’re going to challenge the poor excuse for an Alpha once you are home and safe. I will take his pack and his lands for you my love.
I don’t doubt it Aries, I love you both.
Now, as for Toby, he helped me escape, I promised him if he helped me the amount Argon was paying and safe passage into our pack with his mate and pup.
No
Ajax!
Absolutely not
Aries! It wasn’t a question. The man saved me, helped me escape and was nothing but nice to me the whole time I was there, not only that he risked his life and that of his family to help YOUR mate, we will give them ALL a place in OUR pack and the reward he deserves and jobs to suit when they are settled in.
I hear a rumble deep in the twins chests, Arcane and Azrid are fighting to take control, they missed me as much as me and Ersa missed them.
“Do not dare growl at me either of you! Or you’ll sleep in the guest room for a month, I swear to the moon goddess herself either of you try.” I snap out loud, the rumbling of their chests stop immediately. I can see Toby and Bears shoulders shaking clearly finding the big bad Alpha’s being scolded by their tiny Luna amusing. I choose to ignore the giggling idiots and glance between my mates who are both staring out of the window like big babies sulking.
