Stroking the back of Kara’s hand with his thumb, Frank took a deep breath. His chest was tight with emotion and hope.
“I really can’t wait to finish this cruise mission. Once your nam cleared, we can start all over again,” he sighed.
Kara smiled and gave a small nod. She her self felt the same. She couldn’t wait to establish herself as Frank’s companion.
However, once they reached the port, her enthusiasm turned to tension. The number of journalists and cameras at the entrance to the ship far exceeded expectations.
“Kara, are you okay?” Frank could feel the hand in his grip freeze.
Kara faked a smile on her pale face. “Yeah, I just need to stick with you, right?”
