Chapter 12: His decision
“Any news, Nathan? Justin?” Dominic asked in his usual cold tone as he looked at his second and third in commands.
“No news till now.” Nathan spoke up with a small frown on his face as he fell into thoughts.
“Alpha Derrick is lying low. No threats or anything from them. They have been too silent.” Justin answered as it was his duty to
keep a tab on what’s happening around the packs.
“Try to gather enough proof against him and then I will call a community meeting to put him down from the thrones. Because if he
is really misusing his power by kidnapping and torturing people, he doesn’t deserve that.” Dominic said in a cold tone while
looking outside the window to the big forest.
“We can talk to Suzanne and Athena. I am sure what they have got to say is enough to throw him off the throne.” Justin
suggested.
“Yeah, let them settle down a little bit and then we can talk to them.” Nathan replied.
“We can’t let our guard down. Even though he doesn’t stand a chance in front of us, he might attack Athena if he gets any
chances.”
He added after a few seconds.
Dominic’s expression changed as soon as he heard that. The thought of someone hurting her didn’t sit well with him. No one can
hurt her. No one!
‘Why? Because only you got the right to do that?’ His wolf snapped in his mind, stilling him. He clenched his jaw before blocking
his wolf immediately before he could mess up his mind once again.
“Oh yes, from that I remembered, Dominic? Where is she and Ace going to stay? Can she live with me and Patricia? We both
absolutely love Ace! He is the sweetest.” Justin gushed, making both the man frown. But before Dominic could say something,
Nathan spoke up.
“Why would they stay with you instead of staying with us? They are going to stay with me and Suzanne. We both love that little
buddy a lot and I am sure he likes me the best as well, instead of you.” Nathan said with a smirk.
“You are daydreaming, bro. He likes me the best!” Justin said with a smirk.
Nathan was going t o retreat back when they both were cut off by Dominic’s next words.
“You guys are so delusional and fighting for no reason. He likes me the best. I am his superhero.” Dominic said with a smirk.
They both looked at him in shock. Their jaws dropped a s they looked at him with widened eyes.
“What... What did you say? Superhero?” Nathan asked in disbelief.
“You talked to him?” Justin asked with the similar expression as Nathan.
“You got along with him?”
“Since when do you like kids?”
“You didn’t scare him, did you?”
“I don’t believe you!”
They both started to banter, making Dominic smirk with triumph. He felt proud and somewhat
... satisfied. He liked this feeling. He liked the feeling of being Ace’s superhero. He liked the feeling of being one of the people
whom Ace likes. How much he would have liked if he was his s...!
“He is such a sweet child, isn’t he?” Justin sighed with a happy smile on his face.
“There is no doubt about that. But such a pity he is just a mere rogue.” Dominic said in a cold tone, masking his emotions.
Nathan and Justin frowned hearing him. They shared a look with each other before looking back at him.
“Does that change anything, Dominic? He is just two years old.” Nathan stated with a frown.
“You can’t blame him for that as well where he clearly doesn’t have any connections.” Justin added after him.
“But his mother can have connections. His... father can have connections. So, he gets dragged into it automatically.” Dominic
said with gritted teeth and clenched fist.
“No! He doesn’t get dragged into this, Dominic! Tell me one thing. If you find out one day that his father or his father’s father was
the one who caused all those years ago, what are you going to do? Are you going to kill him?! “ Nathan asked with a frown
“What the fuck are you talking about?! I will fucking kill anyone who tries to hurt him!” Dominic shrieked out in shock and fury.
Even the thought of something like that burned his skin. No one should even dare to touch Ace, not even him. He will kill
everyone who ever thinks of hurting that little boy. He got really protective of him. And the scariest thing among all these is the
fact that he was feeling such strong feelings for a boy whom he just met one time. What’s wrong with him?
“Exactly the reaction I was expecting. You didn’t disappoint us.” Nathan said with an appreciative smile.
“Yes. So, the thing we are saying is, you shouldn’t blame the whole clan for something one person or one group of people did.”
Justin said slowly and carefully, trying not to anger him. Dominic snarled at him angrily.
“So, you are saying that I forget everything and worship Ace and his mother and their whole. clan?” He snapped with gritted
teeth. That’s never going to happen. He is never going to forget what happened to him. He is going to take his revenge. No
matter what. No matter whatever steps he has to take. He is going to take his revenge at any cost.
“No one is saying that, Dominic,” Justin sighed with a stressful look on her face.
“Okay, look a t Nathan’s mate, Suzanne, She turned out to be a rogue as well. But does that mean he can reject her?” Justin
asked.
“No way! Never in a million years. I will never reject her. She is my life. The love of my life.” Nathan spoke with a strike of
possessiveness and protectivity in his words.
“What are you trying to say?” Dominic asked with a deep frown and clenched jaw. For some reason, he didn’t like what Justin
just said. He felt as if that was a tight invisible slap on his cheek.
“What we are trying to say is, what if your mate turns out to be a rogue as well? Can you reject her?” Nathan asked.
Now that question was like pepper on his cut. They are asking if he can reject his rogue mate or not, while he has already
rejected her years ago. They don’t know that. No one knows that. No one knows that he found his mate years ago. No one knew
that his mate was now roaming in front of his eyes. No one knows that and he wants it to stay like that only.
“Yes, I can. And I will reject her if that happens. I will reject her anyway, not because if she turns out to be a rogue. I have
chosen my mate and Luna already, Stacey. And that’s not going to change no matter what.” Dominic said emotionlessly with a
cold tone.
“What are you saying, Dominic? Are you serious? I thought that was just an act!” Nathan exclaimed in shock and disbelief. They
both looked at Dominic with frowns.
“Shh! The walls have ears too.” Dominic said in a cold tone.
“And no, it’s not an act. I have decided to accept her as my Luna and mate and that’s final.” He added in the same tone.
“Bullshit! You are not going to do that! She is not capable of that. Also, it wasn’t in the plan! It wasn’t supposed to be like this.”
Justin exclaimed in frustration.
“We cannot just use her as well. She doesn’t deserve that. Also, I like her and I think she is very capable of that title. Nothing and
no one can change my decision.” He stated blankly. They both let out groans of frustration.
“That’s okay. If you are feeling guilty, we can drop the plan. We won’t use her. We will find some other ways. You don’t have to
accept her as Luna. It will be an injustice toward not only your real mate but also toward the pack. You can’t do that.” Nathan
tried to explain. He didn’t like the idea of someone as arrogant as Stacey to be his Luna.
“I can do that. I am the alpha of the pack and you all are going to accept that. I don’t want to talk anymore on this topic. You both
start the preparation.” He ordered, making them confused.
“Preparation? For what?” Justin asked in confusion.
“For the ceremony where she will step up as Luna.” Dominic said, making them frown.
“But it still has times. Two more weeks.” Nathan spoke up in confusion.
“No, it’s exactly after one week. So, start the preparation. I don’t want any mistakes there. Now go.” He dismissed them, in a tone
which meant no argument.
“You are crazy! Do whatever you want.” Nathan snapped at him before getting up from his chair and leaving the room, without
staying there for another second. He is lucky that he is Dominic’s best friend!
“You should think over this again.” Justin said in a low tone before turning around to leave as well,
“Justin, where is the rogue, Athena?”
