Here's to Odd Dreams and Petty Things

Chapter Ordinary

One Drop is All it Takes

One drop of water, into a pond of life.

A tadpole lives in it, it’s life thankful to each drop.

One drop of water, onto a rose with any other name.

A girl would thank it, for the gift she received.

One drop of water, onto a tear being shed.

A husband would be happy it would hide his tears from all.

Just one drop of water can make all the better, and that’s all that counts, for now.

One Kiss

One kiss is all I ask of you, I’ll be damned if it’s the last thing I ever do.

Dance with me, and you will see that I will love you for eternity.

One wish can be said aloud, but be warned, should be whispered in a crowd.

One kiss is all I ask of you, in rain, snow, or among the dew.

Love has not been nice to me, so grant me one kiss so I can be the person who thanked God to live one more day, that’s what I’d give.

One kiss is all I ask of you, allowing me to dream anew.

Love is more, so I cannot ask of this, but from you, just please, one kiss.

One Rude Man

She loved one man, and one alone. She thought he was the one, until he dropped her like stone.

She went home and cried, making up horrible reasons. How long would she be like this? For how many seasons?

Well, she got on without him, and she met more men. She found one other, her mother did recommend.

Her love life is okay, for the time being. But what of her future, of him and her meeting?

Opposites

They laugh, they flirt. Their hearts don’t hurt.

I’m sad, I cry. I say goodbye.

They’re nice, I’m wrong. I’m weak, they’re strong.

And as it goes, they are my friends. I know they will be there until the very end.

Ordinary

I talk to anyone, they walk away. People like me just talk and stay.

They say I’m weird and mostly scary. But what they don’t know is that I’m just ordinary.

Other World

’Twas a world, a long time ago. Where freedom was an option, and the world was whole.

There were infinite spirits, with molded dreams. Inanimate objects where stillness was seen.

It was a complete world with insightful decisions. Where treasure was found, in pirate collisions.

Whilst I talk about this wonderful existence, and how this world came to an end. Think about our world today, and about how we make amend.

The world I speak of, existed a long time ago. We know there were magical beings, but that’s all we truly know.

’Tis o’er the galaxy, and far away, is where this world was put at bay.

So think of what our world is today. Is it better, or should we not have let it decay?

Our Turn

We live until the end, the world goes crashing in. We struggle to survive, there’s not much of our kin.

The water floods, fires burn. The only thing God doesn’t know, is that it’s OUR TURN!
