Her Undeniable Temptation

Since Zoe had basically ended up pissing three of the most important people in her life. She was feeling pretty low. Sunday, She tried calling all of them! Texted them, but none of them answered or replied.

She knew Bella wasn’t going to respond at all. She had also figured Luke wouldn’t also but she utterly was surprised Alex wasn’t as well! It hurt, she thought he would be the easiest to forgive her.

Apparently not. All Zoe knew was that she couldn’t wait for Monday, she had some major a*s to k**s. The first person she went straight to on a Monday morning was Luke. She went up to him before classes started.

“Hey,” she said.

He gave a stiff nod while grabbing books from his locker. Zoe sighed. “Luke, please talk to me, I’m really really sorry! I mean I forgot our plans. I totally had a lot of things in my mind.” She said,

“Funny, you forgot our plans but you made sure Bella’s plan with that Alex guy didn’t go through,” Luke said sarcastically.

Oh God, was he actually jealous or something? “Come on Luke, I didn’t ruin stuff because of Alex! She is my close friend. Would you want her to get hurt?” Zoe demanded. Luke glared down at her.

“Don’t try to turn this on me, Zoe! You know I also don’t want Bella hurt, I just think it’s pretty suspicious that you got involved with her love life after she started dating Alex.” Luke said.

Oh, it looks like Luke has been paying more attention than she expected. Crap! “Luke, I’m so sorry__ ” she tried to say as he cut her off before she could complete her statement. “Okay, okay, okay fine you are forgiven, just stop apologizing,” Luke said, giving her a quick k**s.

“I’m forgiven, really?” She asked aghast. “Yeah, I get you don’t want her hurt but I just hope you look at it from my own point of view! I mean you spend a lot of time with that guy, you know.” Luke pointed out.

“I know but he is a really good friend,” Zoe sighed. Luke rolled his eyes. “Sure,” He muttered. “He is really a good person, only if you just take your time to get to know him,” Zoe said as she hugged Luke. “No thanks! I will take your word for it.”

Luke said, making her hit him playfully as he chuckled at her playful hit.

Getting Bella’s forgiveness was going to be way harder but Zoe just had to try. In their first class together, she sat in between her and Dora so it would be hard for her to ignore Zoe.

The class was health education, the teacher and class never seemed to pay attention! So it was obviously okay to talk. “Bella, can we please talk?” Zoe whispered.

She sighed and looked at her. “Don’t worry Zoe, I’m not mad at you anymore.” She whispered back with a small smile, to say Zoe was shocked at that moment was an understatement.

“What?” She said,

“Well, I was super pissed that you tipped Alex off! I thought maybe you told him not to but after I thought about it, I mean you only told him what I wanted to do! You didn’t tell him not to, it was up to him.” She explained.

Zoe just gazed at her. She was expecting some huge fury storm. “Anyway it’s not like I won’t have other chances to sleep with him.” she continued, Zoe ignored the last part! She was too relieved to get upset right now.

“So what happened?” Zoe asked.

She turned to Zoe, that storytelling look she always had when gossiping to Zoe and Dora. “Okay, so I called him to invite him to a movie and dinner. We went and had a good time but he seemed kind of distant throughout dinner.” She stopped to give Zoe a disapproving look.

“Sorry,” Zoe mumbled.

“After dinner, we went to watch hunger games, by the way, it was incredible! Once it was finished I asked him to take me home, he walked me to the door and I turned to him smiling and gazing into his beautiful eyes. Then I asked him as sweet as possible. “Nathan? Would you like to maybe spend the night with me?” Bella muttered.

Oh, it was romantic. All of a sudden he was anxious and started mumbling about how you wouldn’t like it and me not being ready. That was how I figured out you had told him, I told him I was ready and asked him again to stay the night with me but he completely refused. I was like what the hell? He then said sorry and left.

She exclaimed.

“Wow,” Zoe muttered.

“I know right?” Bella said, shaking her head.

“Have you talked to him since then?” Zoe asked. “No! I think he is sick or something. Anyway, I wouldn’t talk to him even if he did try to apologize. Unless he gets me flowers! Oh, if you see him, tell him to get me flowers.” She said and Zoe laughed.

so she had gotten Luke and Bella out of the way! Both had surprisingly forgiven her easily. Thank God! All that was left was to find Alex.

Zoe hadn’t seen him all throughout the day. She was beginning to think he had gone homesick when she found him on her way to dance practice. She passed by the nurse’s office window and happened to see his brown hair! She quickly went to the door and peeked inside.

He was sitting on one of the chairs with his face hidden in his hands. She didn’t see the nurse anywhere so she went in and closed the door quietly behind herself gently. She checked around the corner, the nurse must have left.

She slowly sat down next to Alex. He hadn’t seemed to notice her coming in! “Alex?” She whispered. “Hey, Zoe.” He replied, face still behind his hand.

“Are, Are you okay,” she mumbled. “Yeah, I just. No, I am not okay,” he said. Zoe laid her hand on his back, it was awful to see him like this! Words couldn’t explain how much it hurt her.

“What’s wrong?” She asked.

He sat up a little and looked at her, he gave a sort of breathless chuckle. “Chill Zoe, I’m not dying.” He said.

“Oh right, yeah, of course not,” she mumbled sheepishly. “I had an asthma attack, I have felt it coming from the previous week or so! and today it finally happened.” He explained as she glared at him.

“At least I had my inhaler,” he added.

The inhaler laid on his lap! “Alex was it! You know, bad?” Zoe asked but he giggled a tight smile. “Compared to others I have had! Yeah, I suppose it was pretty bad.” He said.

“Do you have to go to the hospital? I mean if it was bad you should go, I could drive you there myself with your car since it is not far.” Zoe said feeling tense. “Zoe, really I’m fine now, I’m okay.” He said and patted her hand.

Zoe realized she had started tearing up.

“Zoe?” Alex called looking confused. That was it, she was already crying in front of Alex! Totally embarrassing but she didn’t care. Alex had an attack and he was totally sick.

He constantly played it off like he wasn’t. She was so glad and grateful that he had been in school when the attack happened, she couldn’t bear to imagine if he had been home all by himself! All alone like always.

He pulled her into his arms. Hugging her to his chest and letting Zoe cry, she felt like the tears wouldn’t stop! Even though the butterflies in her stomach and the rest of her body were going crazy having him hold her this close. The sensation was insane.

“Oh, Alex w..what If y..you,” she tried saying but Alex cut her off. “Shhh, it’s alright sweetie! I’m okay now.” He whispered while his hand rubbed her back gently. He called her sweetie. Y’all heard that right?

Oh my God.

Just the simple movement of his hands on her back was starting to erase the tears and bring out something else in her. Need, pure hormonal need, and desire. She was surprised by the way she was reacting to his simple touch. What was wrong with her?

She quickly shoved back any other feeling she was experiencing at that moment except relief of him being okay, she could sort out the rest later.

After a couple of sniffles, she sighed.

“All better?” Alex asked when she pulled back. “Yeah, sorry about all that! Don’t know what came over me,” she mumbled as Alex shrugged and used his fingertips to wipe away the tears on her cheeks.

“Sort out the feeling later!” Zoe said multiple times in her head until he dried the remaining tears. ”There, now you are perfect again.” Alex said smiling.

“Sort out your feelings later Zoe!” she muttered again. This boy was driving her crazy and she couldn’t deny this pull.
