Her Undeniable Temptation

Alex jerked away from her the minute he realized himself. “Uhm Zoe! I don’t know what got over me but I’m really sorry, it won’t happen again. I promise!” Alex said very fast, making the words kind of fog together.

They both pointedly looked in different directions. Both blushing, she had never seen Alex blushing before which was new. It made him look less like a supermodel or more. ”I don’t know any more werewolves. Down on earth! Do you know what I mean?” she had to take a few deep breaths before responding.

“It’s okay Alex, nothing really happened. I’m not even mad! It’s just normal, right?” she said, trying her best to make things less awkward. He nodded slowly, not looking at her though.

“Anyway, let’s forget about it, we are teenagers anyway.” She said with a shaky laugh. She was trying to make it some kind of joke. ”God, I am an idiot,” Alex said, trying to return his smile but it seemed forced.

“Yeah, you are right! Just stupid kids with hormones.” Alex said. ”See you on Monday, okay?” Alex continued meeting her eyes. She nodded, feeling some relief.

Zoe walked inside the minute he walked away and practically fell on the sofa. She couldn’t believe the fact that Alex tried to k**s her and she was about to let him.

Zoe guessed she was going to have a longer discussion with herself, later on, at least she had plenty of candy. She unwrapped a taffy and popped it into her mouth. She closed her eyes to enjoy the sweetness. What a night? So much for being done with Alex.

November was here and it turned out to be colder and Rainier than October. Alex and Zoe had pretty much silently agreed not to mention what happened to them during Halloween. Unfortunately, Zoe blushed a lot more around him! He seemed to have chilled out a bit about aspersion and inappropriate jokes.

Not like he told many of them before but still, to keep her mind off what happened. She spent an excess of time with Luke. Spending time with Luke wasn’t like punishment or anything. Spending much time with him, especially time alone together was amazing.

She felt it was giving him the wrong idea. She hated feeling like a flirt anytime she stopped making out with Luke. He constantly reassured her that he wasn’t mad at her. Zoe felt like she was just a teenager that was controlled by her hormones.

She thought about sleeping with Luke all the time but lately! The mere thought of actually doing it scared her a bit. What if she gets pregnant? What if she gets stuck with a pup when in high school?

Zoe had watched enough teen moms to know that she didn’t want that. What if she had to catch a disease? Though she trusted Luke so much, it’s just the possibility of getting some kind of sickness disease that she didn’t trust.

Those were both minor concerns to Zoe actually, the thing that worried her the most was sleeping with Luke and then__ What exactly? What if Luke got bored of her and left? What if she realized that he was the one bored and left?

She loves Luke, don’t get her wrong! He was her first k**s and first love. There is a reason they call it first love.

Like, was he the one she is supposed to end up with or what? Goodness, she must have watched way too many reality shows.

It is Saturday night. She was in Luke’s room making out, Luke was kissing under her chin when she happened to glance around his room. Their dog was in his room on the floor and watching them make out.

Zoe felt awkward, they are creatures like them and Zoe’s next favorite after Wolfs but still.

”Uhmm, Luke?” she called shifting uncomfortably.

“Yeah?” Luke answered.

”Uhmm! The dogs are watching us,” she mumbled. Luke raised his head to the dog’s direction and laughed, “Don’t worry they don’t care baby.” He said and leaned in to k**s her but she held up her hands.

”They might not care but I do,” she said and sat up. Luke rolls next to her feeling very disappointed. Lately, that had been his expression though.

She feels bad yet again for not giving Luke what he wants. It’s hard to let down the people you love!

“I’m sorry?” She whispered.

She apologizes after they halt for a stupid reason during their make out has started being a routine.

Luke sighs and shakes his head, “Zoe, you seriously need to stop saying sorry all the time! If you are not ready, that’s that.” Luke said. She could catch a glimpse of the disappointment that had been on his expression.

They both sat on his bed in silence for a while. ”So, what do we do now?” she asked, feeling irritated. Luke glances at her because of the way her tone sounded. ”A movie maybe?” Luke asked.

Headlight flashed outside the house, Dad must be home already. Zoe checked the window but it was their mum. She arranged her clothes as she left Luke’s room.

Later, when she reached her room. Her phone was ringing. it was Alex and that made her hesitate a bit before answering the phone. “Hello?” Alex sighed deeply before speaking.

”I’m lonely!” Alex’s voice came.

”What are you doing?” she asked, searching for a magazine. ”Chilling on my bed and feeling lonely,” Alex says and Zoe felt bad instantly because he kind of sounded depressed.

”That’s weird, I’m also chilling on my bed too!” She said,

”Really?” Alex asked.

”Hmm__ what are you wearing?” He asked and Zoe knew he was smiling and that made her smile too.

”Tonight’s the night she wears her leather Catwoman suit and dances around her room!” she says dramatically. “Catwoman suit, Huh? With the whip and everything?” Nathan asked eagerly.

I laughed and he joined. when his laughter died away, He sighed again. ”So why are you lonely?” I asked not liking Nathan sad. ”Well, I called all my friends and they have something to do, and frankly, being all by myself sucks.” Nathan said. ”Where is your parent?” But Nathan doesn’t answer.

”Lex? Are you still there?” she asked.

”My mum died in an accident that I was included in, and my dad is always busy.” Alex said it differently like he didn’t want to talk about his parents so she dropped it.

”Would there be something you want me to do?” she asked. ”You can come over, to keep me company.” he said, making her bite her lips. Zoe meant Luke was just across her room.

Zoe thought about being with Alex in his empty house.

“Not a good idea,” He seemed to have realized it was a bad idea too.

”Right, that is not going to happen?” He asked, sounding embarrassed. ”Yeah,” she said as none of them spoke for a while. ”So, do you have plans for tomorrow?” Alex asked.

She jumped at the change of subjects gratefully. ”I’m having a date with Luke at seven,” she mumbled, feeling bad.

“Do you have plans?” She asked Alex even if she already knew the answer. ”Nope, well I would love it if my friends stop avoiding me,” Alex said as she could feel some resentment.

She wondered why Alex’s friends were avoiding him? Another long silence between them. She hated Alex being alone and sad. It made the ache in her chest ache and burn more.

She didn’t want to say anything. ”But my friends are actually pissed at you,” Nathan said, pulling Zoe out of her thoughts. ”What?” she asked, totally surprised.

”Because of the Halloween dance. how do I put it, they didn’t like the way I came to rescue you, yeah.” He explained. Great, now she feels even worse now! She was the reason Alex was alone and sad.

”But you didn’t do anything wrong?” She asked. ”I mean that guy was drunk and kept knocking into me, you only stopped things from getting worse.” she tried to reason while getting angry already.

He laughed, ”Apparently my friends aren’t big fans of your boyfriend or the basketball player for that matter.” Alex said. ”Maybe you should get a new friend!” She said angrily.

”Do you think?” He asked sarcastically.
